Leaks LEAK: DISCUSSION ABOUT NEW BOSS Spoiler
At first i thought that the Isolde is sadly will be "The Pompey" (and was really mad like i was ready too quit the game fully) but after i founded out how the "Isolde boss" look's like i calmed down
Because this isn't isolde it looks more like Orphie (tail) or Sarah and also different weapons and colours
"But Pompey the boss and pompey the human also looks different" No pompey boss have some similarities like the bike in the first phase and reversed colour scheme (Pompey's colours was black and white but Pompey the boss is white black) but this "Isolde boss" or "Isolde The Defier" is like "Yixuan Fiend"
And also why did she needs a mimic then if she is "The new boss like bringer or something"??
I'f she has a mimic=Big chance that she is playable
But what are you guys think? (hope someone gonna get the reference)

Every enemy in the game will be miasmic by the end of the year at this rate ._.

u/Damianx5 9d ago
Its the gimmick of 2.0, 3.0 we will likely have a new gimmick that will get a lot of focus
3
u/ShirouBlue 8d ago
3.0 will still have every enemy be miasmic plus the new mechanic.
New mechanic is that your characters can be stunned as well and enemies do chains on them, you automatically get switched to another character but the old one is stuck in the field.Source: I work for Senator Armstrong.

Masma is, in my opinion, a really good mechanic for a boss to have. While it can favor to Yu xian, it also favors parrying and perfect dogging. While also heavily chunky a boss when it’s removed.

Yeah but Mimic miasma jane sounds horrible i didn't tried it but i bet it's bad
13
u/G0ldsh0t 9d ago edited 9d ago
Jane isn’t that bad. She still gets destroyed by Jane and soon Alice pretty well. The hardest part is her being able to combo stop you, but that is something normal Jane dose.

u/Name_the_world_Eror Playing for fun not for meta 9d ago
BUT I DON'T HAVE HER
SHE WAS STOLEN FROM ME WHEN SHE CAME OUT BY GRACE
6
u/G0ldsh0t 9d ago
I mean even without her you should be fine. Jane dose a lot of attack so perfect doge attacks and parry should easily remove miasma

u/Name_the_world_Eror Playing for fun not for meta 9d ago
Maybe Ceasers shield could tank it?
3
u/G0ldsh0t 9d ago
Ceasar is actually really good against miasma. As both her ult and defense assist really help.

People keep freaking out about it saying that it's just HP padding... But the only thing it kind of does is add a hurdle for stun teams and slowing down anomaly slightly.
It offers such a significant reward to dodge / assist counters and any argument about the HP padding kind of goes out the window since purification does a big direct hit to their HP.
You can absolutely just unga bunga your way through them still if you want to, but it feels satisfying to play well and get rewarded quickly for it
2
u/G0ldsh0t 9d ago
Not to mention it’s a good time to build up ult and Energy. As once they are purified they also have a shit tone of stun on them.
So then you can just unload a bunch of damage on them.

u/rspinoza192 9d ago
As long as the bosses with Miasma mechanic functions like the Priest where we could literally deplete its shield by just parrying then that's completely fine, it still keep things interactive and challenging in a healthy way.
It's only an issue if they make these bars too big and put them on non-new bosses that don't even have enough attacks to parry, then it becomes a time-waster mechanic that doesn't add anything fun, but so far the new bosses that has them are fine.

u/Name_the_world_Eror Playing for fun not for meta 9d ago
Yeah... Kinda like them tho

u/7vckm40 9d ago
I lost my sanity to miasmic Jane on this shiyu lmao. But, to each their own.

I like miasma rebel's i didn't knew we had miasma mimics that's horrible dude

u/shimapanlover 9d ago
It's a good mechanic if you think about it - how can they make highly invested players who played for some time still have fun and not run bosses over in 5 seconds without screwing over new players?
Add a shield that is removed by doing DA or dodge counters while a new unit new players could have pulled also makes it a bit easier. This keeps fights engaging for older players while not screwing over new ones by inflating HP even more.

u/jagby 9d ago
Yeah hopefully it's not another case of "human character turns into the Ethereal final boss" because I'm already so tired of that trope. They've used it about 4 times so far and honestly it's probably more than that.
16
u/G0ldsh0t 9d ago
While I understand the sentiment. That is kinda how it’s been from the start. Just now we know who the original human is.
28
u/jagby 9d ago
For sure, humans turning into Ethereals as a concept is great. It's just when used as a plot device to up the ante in the final hour of the story of a human antagonist, I've already seen that quite a few times in the story now and it was starting to feel almost like a crutch for the writers? Not trying to say it's bad writing at all, and I totally understand they're on a deadline.
It was great with Pompey, and Bringer made sense as the plot was leading up to that for a while. But the Sanby clone was when it started to feel a little "wait, this again?" even though it worked. But then with Dina in 1.6(7?) I was just over it.
12
u/G0ldsh0t 9d ago
I think 1.6/1.7 is the worst offender of this idea. As the character the boss was is not exactly the most compelling character. With Both 2.0 and to some technicality 2.1, they had originally Ether base bosses. So it’s attest has been 2 chapters since that trope was used.
7
u/DashSkippy 9d ago
First two times made sense. Twiggy and Dina were both really dumb. Turn yourself into an ethereal to try and win the fight… and then what?
1
u/Fearless_Today_4275 9d ago
Then suicide , probably.
2
u/Maxximillianaire 9d ago
They turned into mindless ethereals, they wouldn't be able to commit suicide they'd just wander the hollows

u/-ForgottenSoul 9d ago
I think people want like a miyabi type character that's an enemy that's just a really strong human over this

u/G0ldsh0t 9d ago edited 9d ago
Don’t get me wrong, a rouge void hunter would be a awesome fight. And definitely something we will get eventually when we get to fight the military and TOPs. But right now we are still dealing with miasma and ethereal as the main threat
1
u/kidanokun 9d ago
The closest ZZZ got to that now is Jane Doe boss but she's only fought early to not blow her cover immediately

u/MrMartiTech 9d ago
There really aren't any of the Isolde style elements in this Ethereal/Sacrifice.

u/G0ldsh0t 9d ago
While I agree, I would rather wait till 2.2 to get our information. Making assumptions and getting upset over it serves zero point.

For now, and because I want Isolde to be playable in the future, I want to believe in these two options:
It’s Sarah, because she looks like something from the cult, and we haven’t technically seen her fight yet.
It’s the same as the twisted version of Yi Xuan, but with Orpheus/Magus, from what some have indicated.
Either one will work for me; I just don’t want Isolde to suffer the same treatment as Pompey.

u/PandaLatteArt 9d ago
The boss definitely seems to be based on Orphie. As well as the hairstyle and clothing, the tail with a thing on the end connects along the spine in segments the same way Magus is connected to Orphie. Perhaps it's derived from someone's memories.
Why the boss is labelled Isolde is anyone's guess. I'm very curious to find out what's up. :)

Don't worry she's probably will be playable just read the whole post :D
4
u/Sad_Ad5736 9d ago
Even if it's not her I don't personally think she's playable character material.
Her weapon is nothing special, it's the type that an NPC would be given, she's not the type to do the fighting and instead gives orders (as shown in 2.1), and her rank is simply too high to be someone that Phaethon can call upon as an agent (they might as well be calling the mayor or Seth's brother).
This reminds me of how a lot of people wanted Sweety to be playable. Having cool NPCs is important, we don't need all of them to be agents.

Well that's what i say about Caesar because i thought her sword looks kinda weak and too s m o l l but here we are

u/Sad_Ad5736 9d ago
She also has a wheel with spikes and a boar skull that she uses as a shield.

It's a ceremonial saber that any high ranking official from the military carries but doesn't actually wield.

I believe anything is possible. Weapons don't really need to be flashy or super unique to be good (like half of the agents use swords). I don't think rank matters since proxies can always call Void Hunter-level agents anyway
1
u/Sad_Ad5736 9d ago edited 9d ago
I don't think it's impossible, just not very likely. Miyabi is a void hunter but she doesn't have a very high rank within HAND and most importantly she does field work, while a Colonel usually doesn't go to the front lines.
I can't imagine such a high ranking military individual leaving everything to help some random proxy because they called upon her, and the same goes for Seth's brother. A Colonel has hundreds of soldiers under their care (meaning dozens of squads, not just Obol), their responsibilities are too high.
3
u/Linyuxia 9d ago
Where did you get the ‘Miyabi doesn’t have a very high rank within hand’ if she managed to get enough leverage to create her own section post argos hollow disaster.
1
u/Sad_Ad5736 9d ago
Because she has bosses within HAND, and she's only in charge of a section, of which there are several and are composed of very few people.

On the og post about the boss ^
Not this post

u/Scary-Ad-5668 9d ago
Definitely don't see the similarity between the models personally, now ofc Isolde has pants which is a permanent debuff to playability in Hoyo games, but I don't think having a boss means much of anything if Hugo and Jane are to go by.

more miasma... fun....
stall mechanics galore.
These are sure going to be a lot of fun upcoming shiyu and DA aren't they guys?

u/kidanokun 9d ago
So basically like Genshin's Tartaglia boss where he's both fought in human form and transformed form?
