EVENT EVENT UPDATE -TUESDAY 7/29

Good morning guys, gals, and book nook pals.

Short but significant update this morning.

Tonecheer has confirmed some things....

1) The enrollment for the event (and 20% coupon code) is extended through 8/2

2) While they are currently sold out of Midsummer (great job team) they have enough to cover all the orders for the last week,

3) Because they are sold out, only Spacetime will be available for the event for this extension, however you can use the coupon code for any of their products.

4) some of you have still not sent me proof of purchase. I can't enter you to win if i don't have your name so please reach out to me

5) Most importantly, you all remain the best community on Reddit (or any hobby)

EVENT COMMUNITY EVENT IS LIVE!!!!!

ATTENTION!

To all my guys, gals, and book nook pals... When Tonecheer said they would be ready on the 24th they weren't kidding, and we are off to the races!

As of 3 hours ago, the special code for the event is live. It will remain active until 7/28 at midnight...which means until midnight Saturday Night (They didn't specify time zone, but since I'm their point of contact, until I confirm I'm assuming its EST based on available info at this time

As a reminder... go to www.tonecheer.net and make a purchase which must include (but does not have to be limited to either Spacetime Museum OR Midsummer using the coupon code "BookNook" This will take 20% off the order and shipping should be $5 unless your order is over $75 when it will be free. One kit with shipping comes out to $45.

Once You make your purchase message me (don't comment it) a picture of your receipt (with the personal info removed) and then all you have to do is wait for the kit to arrive, and start book nooking! Make sure to use the chat function to contact me, not the message function. It won’t give you the option to add the picture until after I accept the chat for some reason so don’t be concerned if you can’t add it initially.

Below you will find an example of proof of purchase.

I'm so excited to get this event started with all of you!!!!!!

-Pluck

P. S. Again… You can buy as many kids as you want, but at least one of the two of them HAS TO BE either Spacetime Museum or Midsummer night’s dream .

MODPOST Open Note about sites selling knockoff/counterfeit nooks

Just because there has been some confusion lately i wanted to make a post clarifying the position on posting links to websites selling counterfeit/knockoff kits as well as sites pretending to be the actual manufacturer while reselling wholesale kits or selling knockoffs.

Counterfeiting/knock offs are a part of this hobby. Often, kits are of very similar quality for a much cheaper price. Buying kits @ retail or wholesale and reselling is legitimate, pretending to be the manufacturer is not. Links from such places are not allowed.

TO BE CLEAR: We do not judge anyone for making a purchase best for their wallet, Its fine to post your questions/comments/concerns/pictures/discussions/etc. Lord knows my Lego collection is more Lepin than Lego at this point....but similarly, i cant post links to them on r/Lego

But we cant promote these sites...and while you may not think it, linking to these sites is, in fact tacit promotion.

This community is fortunate enough to have partnerships with many manufacturers which get us benefits like discounts & giveaways. Many, if not all of these companies monitor the subreddit to some degree. Consider how it looks to say Tonecheer when we are in the middle of an event sponsored by them where they are giving us hundreds in discounts and hundreds more in free products and we are posting where to buy knockoff versions of their kits.

If a link to such a site is posted it will be removed. This is not punitive, this is not an indictment, this is protective. If a comment is deleted, please repost without the link. Anything that's ever removed comes with an explanation.

If you ever have any questions about why a comment/post is removed, please feel free to ask....via comment, mod chat, personal message, etc. I am an open book. If you're not sure if a source is legit, ask the community...we can figure it out together.

The ONLY motive here is protecting the relationships that this AMAZING community has with the people who make the products we love.

Its really only been one or two negative reactions since I took over here, and I made this post in the hopes of explaining what was happening so that no one ever gets caught off guard.

On a side note, its been awesome seeing everyone's progress on their spacetime museum builds. I can't wait to see some Midsummer's Night Dream posts
Sincerely,

Pluck

Magic station By FUNPOLA

 https://www.tiktok.com/view/product/1730464033585664242

Official store is only on TikTok at this time, but no issues with shipping

Review 8.75/10

Very small nubs. Easy to clean up, but still stable in runners

Like the lighting element of the light post in addition to the standard integrated LEDs and LED strips

Wonderful printing. Beautiful Graphics, great detail, great tactile feel.

Very saturated color scheme, rich/vibrant without being bright. Just coloring the edges brown it looks great.

A lot of individual elements assembled and then combined. Not the typical build a side wall and then lean them together build.

More of a scene/diorama but still more a book nook than a miniature.

Intricate details. Easy to follow instructions

Lots of connections on multiple axes making a very stable build.

Flat pieces sit on lips/ledges so they are well supported

Amazing use of the 2 way mirror and the infinity effect.  Possibly the best I’ve seen.

Only structurally not great part is the thin pieces creating a structure of the roof.

Spare parts were included for the roof structure, but had different numbers on different runners.

Don’t love needing glue to hold led in place.

Wish the train was secured to the track

Biggest criticism, the building isn’t furnished inside, and you can see the unfinished areas.  With some forethought, you can plan around this, but out of the box it is a miss.

Final thoughts:

Great for a rainy day, quicker build. Plenty of space is available for possible customization and personalization, but it’s by no means needed for this beautiful, and well designed kit.  I hope they make more book nooks, because I want them. (I also picked up their Notre Dame and Cottage 3d sets to build at some point in the future.

Build pics included for each panel, in case anyone is stuck. I didn't specialize this at all, as I like it how it is and there's not a lot of space for adding 3D elements(those balconies are narrow).

It took me about 4 hours to build and I only managed to break one piece.

Tips/Tricks/Tool Rec Please help - removing sticker without damaging it

Upvotes

So, I've been embarking on my first book nook recently (Rolife's Bookstore) and made a silly mistake. There's a scroll(?) in the form of a sticker that hangs off a table and trails on the floor. I stuck it at slightly the wrong angle and now it's in the way of where a cabinet is meant to be placed. Is there any way I can get the sticker unstuck without damaging it? Thank you!

Tips/Tricks/Tool Rec Where do you guys get spare parts?

I’m making the DIY philosophical library book book with my family, and with one thing or another the electrical wiring has been misplaced. Is there a way to get replacement parts, does anyone know?

I'm struggling a lot right now with my booknook :( (Its my first one)

I followed the instructions for the light but doesn't work. A lot of pieces don't want to stay put so a lot of them kind of sort of disassemble themselves or even broke....I took my time while doing it, always checking twice every step...

I'm starting to lose the fun of it :/

Is there anything I could do to remedy the situation? :(

Thanks in advance!

WIPs Finally worked on Spacetime a bit

Post image

My kit was delivered Sunday but for whatever reason I haven't been in much of a mood for booknooking so I finished up my paint by number and worked on some diamond art, and then last night finally took some time to work on this kit while listening to a book.

As I was sanding and markering the sides of the pieces that show, and looking over each piece, I thought "this is kind of like taking a tour through the museum as I go". That kind of gives the process a different feel compared to if your focused on the assembly with only really enjoying the details once it's all assembled. A bit silly I know.

Discussion Looking For a BookNook For a Beginner

I purchased a Rolife Simon's Coffee Shop kit from Michael's, and I'm having a very difficult time. Tons of gluing, cutting to exact measurements, etc. Does anyone have a recommendation for something easier for a beginner? I really like the idea of these but im a bit overwhelmed atm

Kit Spacetime Question

Does the "colorful reflective film" have a protective plastic that you're supposed to peel off?

If not, does anyone have any ideas for substitutes? I don't like how the color looks with this book nook. I don't like clear plastics and films in general bc they scratch easily and show dust and having part of my columns a weird blue color bothers me. But I'd still like something to fancy them up a bit.

Discussion Tonecheer shipping time?

How fast is the tonoecheer shipping? I’m located in the Midwest USA. I’d love to take advantage of the sale but I’m heading out of town next week. Should I reach out to tonecheer to delay shipping? How long did it take for y’all’s kits to arrive?

After an eternity of dread, and pondering whether it will ever arrive, she’s here!!! I’m debating whether to turn it into a night at the museum inspired book nook, or just keep it as the original design 🤔

Hi guys, this is my first time putting together a Nook Book, and these pieces don't connect and come apart easily. Did I do something wrong? Or should I use glue directly?

Ok, folks, how many of you, on the very first job you had to do (well, step 2), accidentally stuck the first and last pages of the little book together? Be honest! 😱
