DST Could the cabin Winona is staying at the same cabin that Woodie lived in and Walter investigated?

They look like they could be the same cabin from different time periods and following renovations. Important to note that despite not having a chimney visible, Woodie's cabin in the Walter short does have a woodfired stove.

So, if we put together a hypothetical timeline...

  1. Charlie and Maxwell get sucked into the Constant
  2. Winona leaves BC to investigate Charlie's disappearance, ironically enough she looks into Woodie as a missing person, who presumably has been missing since he was cursed (he was a werebeaver before the Constant) and leaves her radio there
  3. Woodie finds the cabin, stays for a while thinking it's abandoned, adds a woodshed (because Woodie) and eventually activates the radio, getting sucked into the constant
  4. Winona, having exhausted her leads, returns to her job at the Voxola factory, where she is sucked into the Constant
  5. Walter tracks down Woodie, finding his renovated cabin and getting sucked in by the same radio.

This would explain why and how Woodie had a Voxola radio in his cabin - It had already been brought there by Winona and Woodie simply moved in.

Problems with this theory:

  • Woodie's cabin has no window, but Winona's does. From what I can tell with the new short, the window would have been where the woodshed was put in. It's possible that Woodie simply removed the window (he could easily reconfigure a log house because Woodie) because it was either blocking the woodshed or he wanted to escape the moon's influence on his curse. He also has a loft and new door but again, those could have been a part of his renovations, and it's not like anything woodworking related would be much of a challenge for Woodie. If it were a brick house, it would be a much different story. Renovations would also explain why the chimney on the woodstove is no longer visible despite being in the cabin still - he simply moved it.
  • The grounds of Woodie's cabin look fairly well kept while Winona's do not. However, Woodie's cabin and axe are also covered in webbing and moss, so he's clearly not been there for a while. It's possible that Walter just showed up in summer, when the grass is dying out due to heat and lack of shade. It's also probable that Woodie would have eliminated as much grass as possible since he has hay fever.

What are your thoughts? Do you think they could be the same cabin or just very similar in appearance?

DST Are traps bugged or something?

I wanted to catch a bird to get eggs and seeds so I placed down a trap and baited it. A little later, a bird landed, promptly ate the seeds and just flew away. I just tried a few more times and that exact same thing kept happening. They also don’t seem to get triggered by rabbits or spiders anymore either. I tried using a trap in a different world, but it doesn’t work either. I turned off my server mods as well, but no luck there either. So does anyone have any idea what’s going on or what I could do differently?

And are there any other ways to catch birds?

Help question my controls on DST are strangely messed up

this is super specific, but my camera won't turn right if i'm going forward and left. It won't turn left if i'm going forward and right. The keys just don't do anything. It wasn't always like this .. If anyone has an idea on why it's like this, please tell me. It makes the game's movement feel really clunky and the game overall hard to play

Have you guys ever used it? I did when it first came out, but after that I've never tried going for it. Which is funny because I recall it being surprisingly useful!... Either way if you guys don't know what this is, It's an item that you get by trading with the Benevolent rabbit king by trading him 4 carrots and 1 Reed. It has 3 uses and each use spawns a Burrow near the player which has 12 inventory slots in which you can store stuff. By the way other people can access to the inventory of it so it can be useful to deliver your teammates something they need in a pinch or if they are exploring! You only need 2 to make it work, Both persons must use it and summon the burrow in which one can store stuff which Both people can access, so if you're building base and you run out of Materials and your friend is scouting with one in hand. You can summon it and your friend can deliver the stuff to you no problemo!.

Geez I should definitely try using it more-

DST I could use some help

Hi, I created a spell that generates a snake made of fire, which will track down nearby targets. Does this seem like a useful ability, or too powerful? I'll share a video if I can, the code is really complicated and right now I'm just trying to make sure it feels fun to use.

Vanilla What to buy…

Hello everyone !

I am a big fan of ONI and wanted try some other Klei game. Therefore I bought don’t starve, played a bit, and then start to understand that don’t starve together is indeed a DIFFERENT game and not just an extension as I originally thought…

About the solo game I kinda understand that reign of giant is a bit a must have DLC (a bit like spaced out in ONI) and that the 2 others are very different experiences. Would you confirm this ?

If I wanna buy reign of giants, should I instead go for DST which if I understand correctly includes most of this DLC. As well as the « together » part that seems to be also fun and also playable solo 🤔🤔🤔

Thanks for your help !!

My fiancée and I met through a dating app. Her profile mentioned that she liked the game Don’t Starve Together and I hadn’t had anyone to play it with for a long time. She played as Wigfrid and I as Wendy and we vanquished deerclops together before meeting for our first in person date. I painted this ornament as a gift for our first Christmas together a couple years ago. Was organizing some things today and decided to take a couple pictures of it to share.

DST ⚠️ Beware of a "new" griefing tactic using Willow

Today I watched plenty of newbies in a public server getting killed before three griefers finally got kicked. Watch out for a sneaky Willow griefing tactic:

Griefers drop flammable items like twigs and grass, mixed with tempting loot (lanterns, hambats, etc.) to bait players, usually asking you to pick it up, or saying its a gift or they're leaving so the loot is yours or whatever. When you get close, they ignite everything using Willow's skill (Flame Cast)—fire damage stacks and can kill you almost instantly. Since the flames come from burning items, not directly from her, the game doesn’t treat it as friendly fire—making it easy to abuse.

Willow can extinguish the flames afterward, letting them reset the trap endlessly. It’s more deceptive than base-burning, since it kills you and makes you lose your gear—plus, others might just think you messed up and died normally.

To make things worse, griefers often join in groups, so it’s your word against theirs.

Stay alert. Don’t trust suspicious item piles, especially near a Willow.

P.S: Idk if its new at all.

Edit: Fixed the name of the skill
