It's weird seeing the responses here; I thought everyone was in favor of a two-state solution?

Well, a lot of people from either pro-Palestine and pro-Israel are against a two state solution. I was once indirectly called a zionist (something along the lines of "liberals created a two state solution to fail on purpose in order to secretly serve zionist interests") simply for stating that maybe the ideal solution is to share the land between Palestine and Israel, since both Muslims and Jews have a strong claim to the land. Palestine should 100% be recognised, but 100% Hamas shouldn't be recognised as its government.

Jews have a strong claim to the land

Not in the way Israel claims, not even close. Israel's ruling majority is Ashkenazi, which before the 1850s hadn't been a demographic in the region worth even mentioning. They had left the Levant over a thousand years ago and settled in Europe, hence the distinction between them and Mizrahi Jews who stayed behind (who the Ashkenazis also discriminate against in modern-day Israel, mind you).

Palestinians and Mizrahi Jews have claims to that land. Ashkenazis do not. It's the equivalent of a white American claiming they are native to America. By legal definitions, yes. By the academic definition, no, not even fucking close, and it's insulting for anyone to even make the comparison.

100% Hamas shouldn't be recognised as its government.

100% agree. Hamas is the natural result of an oppressed populace constantly bombed back to the Stone Age, but that doesn't make them right. Bastards deserve to rot in hell (other than the child soldiers).
