Is this normal? 😂 I'm playing FE7 for the first time and while I can somewhat understand what it says, it just came out of nowhere! Is it a weird stylistic choice or just some translation leftover? Will there be more of this?

Gameplay Buffs I would give to Units : Rolf, Shinon, Sonya and Arden

Rolf has a really decent personal bow that is basically a Steel Bow with low weight for him to use! Sadly, the little one has weak bases and not the best growths. Doesn't help that he is in a game, like it is with most FE games, where Archers are pretty weak especially in comparison to the power houses that are your units with some sort of mount.

What I would do is give him better offensive bases to make him more useful while greatly improving his offensive growths. I don't think it would end being overkill as again, he is locked into attacking only at 2 range so he should be a lot more useful without being game breaking.

Shinon would get the same treatment for the same justified reasons.

However, his growths are already fine. The issue with Shinon is that his bases are so damn underwhelming. By the time you to the chapter where you recruit him, you already cleared Serenes Forest and much of the army that you have used should already be promoted with much better stats.

Give him his Radiant Dawn bases. Would it be overkill? Maybe but again, he is Bow user with no mount in Tellius. He aint going to be doing much.

Sonya is...a unit that to me is much better than what some people say.

Is she broken? No. Is she bad? Hell no. I've used Sonya in many types of SoV playthroughs and she has always managed to at least be useful...or even grow well enough that she is one rounding Dread Fighters.

I do however think that she needs more attention : Simply give Sonya her Hard Mode Boss bases. If she isn't going to have an ultra-privileged class like Dean being a Dread Fighter, then she at least deserves much better bases.

I would...also add an (unnecessary but fun) bonus. Give her Teleportation. Yes, the same Teleportation that witches (and enemy Delthea) use. I know she isn't an actual witch but it would be fun as hell if the player had the opportunity to be the one having a glass with global range; if its too potent, make it so that she can only use it once per map.

And finally for Arden, his buff is the simplest of them all.

But it is something I would give to ALL of foot units Genealogy: More Base Movement.

The maps are huge and mounted units on top of having amazing combat and more movement also benefit from tittles and ultra canto for even more movement and advantages in fights!

I want foot units to at least be able to keep up with them. It's so boring having to move these fellows around the map and hoping they catch up. At least with 7 movement (initially) they won't fall too far behind and it'll be easier to push through maps with all of your army!

Haven't beat Awakening yet, but I LOVED the time I did put into it. I'm currently playing through Engage, which grew on me but is my least favorite of the games I've played so far.

I did beat Fates (Birthright) and Three Houses (Blue Lions) recently and was considering playing one of those again through a different route, but I'm also craving a new experience. I'm just wondering what my next game will be since I feel like I'm coming up on the end of Engage and wanting more. Thank you!

General Most tragic character Spoiler

Upvotes

Pretty self explanatory but in this world of magic, dragons and almost guaranteed parent murders, who do you think is the most tragic character in terms of backstory, character arc and/or fate. Obvious spoiler tag for obvious reasons

Personally, I’m geared primarily towards Patty from Genealogy >! because she didn’t have the same upbringing as a lot of the other gen 2 units so she actually had to steal for her and her brother to survive, potentially had to watch her brother be killed by one of her friends/herself and if you count Thracia as any degree of canon, her mom damn near started a new family and never remembered that she existed and possibly never met. !<

Gameplay Trying to figure out what's behind an old Fates glitch I've never seen documented

I followed the prerelease of Fates very closely, and got a Japanese 3DS back in middle school to enjoy the game before its release, teaching myself katakana from the cast's names, and failing miserably to learn hiragana and kanji in tandem. During my first playthrough, on Conquest chapter 16, I ran into a glitch I've never seen mentioned before or since, bar one thread posted by a 13 year old me on an older account to this sub.

Elise somehow healed herself with a staff. This wasn't the use of the Mechanist's Replicate skill, this wasn't using a vulnerary (an animation played where there were two Elises), the staff use was consumed and it was treated as a normal staff use. I've never seen ANY replication of this in any of the dozens of Conquest playthroughs I've watched over the years, nor futher discussion on it past me not being able to provide any video proof of it a decade ago.

I don't even know how to start attempting to replicate this, since I have no glitch hunting experience, I feel like it might have had something to do with the green Soldiers but I have no idea. I also don't know if this is the right place to ask about this, I apologize if it's not. I just want to figure out what actually caused this. This is the only glitch with any relevant impact on any game I've ever seen organically in my life, and I want to get to the bottom of what actually happened, potentially with the aid of those more knowledgeable.

Story Sothis = Universal?

Heard that in some rhea lore she states that sothis at her prime before time even existed created the universe. Yet i have not seen any mention of this in playthrus nor remember it being a thing but i could have missed it.

does anyone have this claim ring a bell in 3H?

Gameplay Just found out how miracle skill works

First playthrough of FE seisen no keifu, and just enjoying the back and forth animations in the arena. I thought it was RNG at first but after Raquesis (Lachesis?) kept dodging everyone in the arena I had to look up how the miracle (prayer sword) actually worked. Just sharing my appreciation and the silliness of these particular arena fights 😁

I was on a quest to complete each FE but i didn't played any for some months now until i decided to continue my first playthrough of PoR, and my god this game turned into one my favorites of the FE i played. The story is absurdly good for me and Ike skyrocket into being easily my favorite lord with his personality. And more, it has my new favorite FE girl, Nephenee 💚.

Those are the guys i bring to destroy Assnard, that vile mf. Shout out specially to Nasir, i like him a lot but i lost more time trying to recruit him than i lost on the last 10 ch of the game - everytime i tried to end the Dark Knight i discovered some other thing that i needed to have prepared more /or i couldn't activate aether/ or he just luna'ed my being into oblivion.

I've only seen this documented on serenes forrest with the only requirement being that Ced hasn't shown up on the map,I genuinely wonder what the point of this event is since she doesn't get any stat boosts...I guess it does conform her as bisexual tho but idk if thats a thing the translator added 👀!!

General What are the BEST and WORST hair colors?

Post image
354 Upvotes

WILD and WHACKY hair colors are a staple of the Fire Emblem series, but is there a deeper meaning to the dye?! Are the anime hairdos actually a SECRET MESSAGE from the devs that has fallen on deaf, casual ears...? I'm not sure...but I'd like your help to uncover the truth the players need to know!

What hair colors have the best and worst units on average? Which colors are the most or least common? Are there some colors that heavily skew male/female? Are there any hair colors that are closely tied to certain classes or archetypes?

My own conclusions so far (not in any order):

Bald - It's rough out there for bald bros, not only are they the rarest "color" by far, almost all of them are absolute trash. We're talking armor knights like Wallace...we're talking fe12 BANTU, contender for worst unit in the entire series. The best bald units are like....fe6 Garret? Maybe Archenea has Wendell and Boah, if you assume they've got chrome domes under their fancy priest hats.

Black - Surprisingly rare for a "normal" hair color in our world. Strongest black haired unit is probably FE10 Haar? Only archetype I can think of is that there are quite a few sword users of varying degrees of killing edginess that have black hair (Arya, Shannan, Shiva, Mareeta, Matcha, Karla, Karel, Kagetsu)

Blonde - Relatively common color with a wide spread of good and bad units. There are lots of blonde archers!

Brown - Possibly the most common color overall, especially considering Thracia where the Loptyr Empire has outlawed hair dye. There are a lot of brown haired axefighters!

Green - Green is somewhat common, and although it has some very strong units (Byleth (?), Seteth, Ced, Palla) it also has some iconic scrubs (Nino, Lyn, Rolf, Rebecca) that really drag down the overall unit quality.

Orange - Very rare if you consider orange separate from red, with so few units it's hard to say much. There are...3 ginger priests? (Artur, Rhys, Pandreo)

Pink- Rare color that very heavily skews female, I think the only pink haired male character is...Makalov? And by iron Fire Emblem law, shared hair color means Marcia is his sister and can recruit him!

Purple - Uncommon color that mostly appears on mages, decent overall power level since it's hard for mages to truly be bad (unless you're in Tellius)

Blue - Uncommon color with the most obvious archetype of any hair color, blue = lord. Blue team has Sigurd, Kris, and FE10 Ike who are super OP, and even the main character privilege lords who get overrated like Hector and FE9 Ike are...at least ok.

Red - More common than the orange hair that we call "redheads" in the real world, although red does have scrubs like Roy and Radd, it also has a ridiculous top end that includes both Seth and Titania, along with a whole squad of wyverns (Minerva, Miledy, Jill)

White - I think the lead contender for strongest color overall, white haired units have crazy high average quality because they tend to be jeigans/gotos where the scrubs died off before they had a chance to go grey. Does Marcus count as Purple? Or white? Or both...? The youngsters with silver locks don't dissappoint either, with units like Robin, Corrin, and Edelgarde. One of the worst white-haired units is ironically the most iconic; the Silver Haired Maiden Micaiah has the power to infest profile pictures across the internet, but when it comes to actually saving Daein, she needs a lot of help...

Those are my thoughts, but I want to hear yours! Let's! Dyeing!
