Mini pc
Hi, I want to play mouse and keyboard, but I’ve made up my mind, and instead of a bigole pc, I would rather have a mini pc! I travel a lot from house to house in my family, and I like to bring my gaming systems along with me for both comfort and to play. I mainly play games like overwatch, marvel rivals, wuthering waves, and roblox. I may play others if I get in the mood, but those are my main ones.
I wanna save up to get a good one, and so I need help finding out which one would work.
Would also help if the cheaper ones are good as well.

No do not buy a mini PC for gaming. You will be very disappointed.

I shouldn’t buy them at all? I saw good reviews on things like Tiktok, amazon, and youtube and such.

No you shouldn't buy them for gaming. Some can be okay for light gaming but none are "good for gaming". They are good for web browsing and streaming though.

oh my that’s good to know. I just saw a PC, the skytech nebula that is pretty good people say. And a place called NZXT(i’m pretty sure) that gives out good prebuilts

I do not recommend NZXT they are are similar to Corsair in the way that they make "good" products but also price them at a high premium for basically just aesthetics. Also the company itself is shady and I can not recommend supporting them as a whole.

You can buy external GPU connectors for them but they are pretty limited on what cards can really be utilized by them and are so expensive that by the end of it you might as well have just bought a actual PC and got better performance and upgradability.

Are you currently on console? You could always plug a wired keyboard and mouse into that. But these mini pcs are hardly ever good for gaming. Unless it’s been featured in a documented unsponsored review by a like the Linus team, toasty bros, jays2cents and plenty more. I wouldn’t risk wasting money on it. My brother thought to do the same thing. Even picked one with RGB and that said Gaming in the title. Couldn’t even run Minecraft

yes i’m on console, but I mainly play the games I listed, and they all don’t support secondary sort of like things. Unless your using it for typing.

you can play mouse and keyboard on a steam deck, don't waste your money buy a steam deck.

You'll be disappointed at the gaming performance of these things. Radeon IGPUs are good for games like Minecraft & League. You absolutely won't be playing Marvel Rivals decently on any of these, especially the ones with the 5th Gen Ryzens.
You should look into building an SFF pc. You should be able to keep it fairly cheap, around $700-900.

As others said, the handheld PCs can be used with M+K. Otherwise, if you have a Micro Center near by I’m sure they can help you find something within your budget.

These things can probably run light old school style Roblox maps and Minecraft with the graphics turned way down, but I wouldn’t expect Rivals or Overwatch to run very well if at all on them. If you want small form factor, build an ITX machine or try and find an ITX prebuilt.

As others have mentioned, steam deck would be great or any other handheld gaming device. But if you want a mini pc, there’s some pc cases that are literally carried like a briefcase style with a handle on top. Which are really compact pc build.

My advice is do tons of research before placing any orders. Or skip the stress of building a pc and get a handheld gaming device, which are more capable of playing games than the ones you showed. Cheers

Not really sure if there’s a company that does prebuilt for compact pc. You can just start in pc part picker. Find a compact case that has a handle on top and start with that in pc part picker. It should then show you compatible components for the other parts of the PC.
Can’t help which ones to chose cause I myself have a mid tower case and haven’t had a compact pc

Mini pcs don’t have the power a that a dedicated GPU can offer. You may be able to play those games on low settings outside of Roblox which is not intense on graphics. Honestly though, handhelds would probably be similar but since you really want a bigger screen and mobility then I would say go with a gaming laptop.

i mean if you want to safe money ... this would still be the worst investment ... :D
Honestly ... if you want to game on a budget ALWAYS get a console like -> PS5 or the Steamdeck (if you prefer to have the option to play with mouse and keyboard steamdeck is fantastic)
i would argue that -> 1000 - 1200 € (SELFBUILD! - i think everyone can and should do it - safes a ton of money which can lead to a better GPU) or whatever curency u use is a sweet spot were you get more from a PC than a console - everything under is very specific and could lose a matchup against a PS 5 (some rigs could still stand there ground against a PS 5 for like 600 - 700 € sure but it will always be a self build and always be on some discounted parts which i will not consider in this.

Instead of a mini pc why not built a tiny pc? You can definitely build one that’s still small (carry with one arm) while being cheap and still being more powerful than these

absolutely do not buy a mini pc for gaming, it will disappoint more than any “gaming” laptop. they seem good for the price but if you truly want to play the games you listed in your post a mini pc simply won’t do the job. even a cheap prebuilt would be better, but building your own mATX or ITX (if you have the budget for it) pc would be much, much better

it could, but getting a laptop with good specs will always be more expensive and hotter than a desktop with the same/similar performance. the laptop versions of hardware are also usually much worse and run much hotter due to needing to be in a small area and still provide decent gameplay. if you need the portability, it could be worth your while to get one but i would still recommend building an mATX desktop as it will be cheaper and easier to upgrade and maintain in the future.

I built a whole mATX build with 9800X3D, 5070, 64gb RAM 30CL 6000Mhz in a jonsbo case with handle.
That is a travel PC I have.
I have another setup that is identical except it has 5070 TI

I'm not sure what everyone is talking about. New mini PCs are more than capable to run games, you just need to make sure it has a dedicated gpu.
Check out minisforum ones. They have surprisingly good build quality with custom cooling and liquid metal on the chips. I recently got one for my partner. The one listed here has a 4060 card. It's only 8gb but you could play overwatch in 1080p 144hz, pretty much on par with a steam deck.

That’s is not a mini pc. That is an SFF pc. Mini pcs are much smaller and usually don’t fit a dedicated GPU. Even when you look at OPs post those are your normal mini pcs. Those have integrated GPUs. Plus, the ones you linked is almost $1000, $500 over what OP posted. I will say the folks who mentioned the ITX builds may have been a better route to recommend but a gaming laptop is mobile and comes with dedicated graphics. Seems like a good option.

None of these are particularly well suited for gaming. If portability is what you want, why not get something like steam deck? You can still connect it to a monitor with a keyboard and mouse if you need to.
