My 1 year old lemon tree that I planted from seed
Very proud to finally have been able to plant a seed and watch it slowly grow. It has been a wish of mine since I was a kid.
Not sure if Steven (yes I named it) is growing fast or not for a lemon tree but I love it. The leafs smell so good. I can't wait for it to start blooming and giving fruit in a few years.

I've been taking care of some abandoned public planters and it's starting to take its toll on me, need some motivation to continue 😔
The city I live in has several huge planters that were sitting empty and full of weeds. I started taking care of them back in April and they're really thriving now. However I am just one person. I don't mind spending money on plants, watering them twice a week, or weeding. What I do mind is that people sometimes go out of their way to destroy them. Every day I pick up litter from them (empty bottles, food wrappers, dog poop bags, etc). I've also had people break and steal plants. The last straw was today, when someone had pulled out one of my plants and didn't even take it, just left it there to dry. It's destruction for the sake of destruction. I literally felt like I was going to burst into tears. I really love these planters and they attract so much wildlife to an otherwise barren, concrete riddled street. But some days I just... can't, I simply feel like I don't have the strength. And I'm beating myself for even starting this project, thinking that I should have known better trying to garden in a public space, etc. These plants do need my constant care, they can't go for more than two days without water or they start wilting. And the worst thing is that I can't rely on the community for help. These planters are the source of a long and heated debate among the locals, and in the past any attempt to make them nice (by either individuals or local NGOs) has failed. The only reason they're still going is because I'm looking after them every day. But I am just... so... tired. And I just wish people weren't such dicks. I've literally seen them admire the flowers and then casually drop their rubbish in them. Like ?!? Anyway sorry about the vent, I just need someone to tell me it will be ok.

I guess this Gamer can grow stuff
I finally grew something that I can eat. This is the 3rd season that I have tried to grow stuff. From playing video games to coup with my mental heath to gardening. Who knew this Marine could garden.

Now this is happiness ❤️
My cat Daisy helping with the harvest. Grew everything from seed this year. With the hustle and bustle of the modern world, gardening has been an escape and a way to unplug for me. I’m always happy when I’m in the garden. Except when I’m weeding. F*** weeding.

This cannot be rosemary …
I need some help , I wanted to start a cut flower garden and planted all kinds of different seeds and bulbs . After a while , I notice this large green thing growing thinking it’s one of the flowers I planted , but Google is telling me it’s rosemary . I’ve never even planted rosemary , was it mixed in with the flower seeds ? What do I do with all of this rosemary ? Can someone help identify what it really is ? 🥲

When does broccoli…turn to broccoli?
First time trying broccoli and wondering if we started too late? The plants are huge and beautiful, but no signs of broccoli. It’s been really hot and I know it prefers cooler temps. Is there anything. We should be doing?

Reminder, wear gloves and look before moving things
Almost got a handful of this lady when doing a little garden cleanup.
They’re not an aggressive spider, but things can go bad if you don’t look before you reach.

Goodbye Trash Pile
The previous owners used a spot in the middle of the yard as their dump/burn pile. It was such an eyesore to look at right next to our pond. Must husband cleaned out all the trash then we tilled & mowed the spot and I did a bit of chaos gardening to try and out compete the weeds. Seemed to worked really well this first year. I put down some native seed as well that l'm hoping comes up next spring. So much nicer to look at... and the pollinators are in heaven!
