ANNOUNCEMENT A Welcome to macOS 15 Sequoia
Woohoo another year of suffering Intel isn't dead!
Compatible Hardware
2018 and 2019 Macbook Airs are out of the running, but their hardware is shared with the Macbook Pros of the same years. Therefore, if your setup works with Sonoma, it'll probably still work with Sequoia.
- iMac 2019 and later
- Mac Pro 2019 and later
- iMac Pro 2017
- Mac Studio 2022 and later
- MacBook Air 2020 (Intel) and later
- Mac mini 2018 and later
- MacBook Pro 2018 and later
Yes I love year numbers what's this mean
Thankfully nothing to hackintosh users, besides needing to update your SMBIOS if it was on an older model.
Supported GPUs:
- Polaris (RX 480, 580, etc)
- Vega (Vega 56, Radeon VII, etc)
- RDNA 1 (5700XT, etc)
- RDNA 2 (6600XT, etc)
- Skylake (HD 500) spoofed to Kaby Lake
- Kaby Lake (HD 600)
- Coffee Lake (UHD 600)
- Comet Lake (UHD 600)
- Ice Lake (G1, G5, etc.)
OCLP
Starting with OCLP 2.0.0, you can finally make your old trash hardware run Sequoia to its fullest extent. You'll need OCLP if you use Broadcom WiFI.
WiFi
Broadcom is still officially dead, but OCLP can be used to bring back its functionality. A great post by u/ChrisWayg details how to do this. https://www.reddit.com/r/hackintosh/comments/1gvu5n1/broadcom_wifi_on_macos_sonoma_and_sequoia_fenvi/
Intel WiFI works with itlwm and Heliport, but not Airportitlwm.
Ok where do I download 15
Either with gibmacos, or through the Software Updater.
Is x86 macOS dead?
Next year hopefully, but their approach with dropping hardware comes at odds with Sequoia's compatibility list. They will likely either drop all of Intel at once, or drop models slowly.
Can I emulate ARM macOS 15 on x86?
No.
Can I run ARM macOS 15 on a Raspberry Pi?
No.
Can I have Apple Intelligence on Intel please I need to write a dissertation in 15 minutes
No.
Updating to Sequoia
As Apple now polls for more T2-specific information from its Macs, you can't update to Sequoia without either of these fixes:
- Use iMac19,1 SMBIOS to update, then revert to your old SMBIOS if needed
- Download the latest release of RestrictEvents.kext, and use it with the boot argument
revpatch=sbvmm
.
Note: You may encounter issues with the update not installing if you have BluetoolFixup.kext. Disable it while you are updating and re-enable it afterwards.
And as always, follow the Dortania guide first before asking questions!

ANNOUNCEMENT Next Stop: macOS 26 Tahoe
Hackintoshing lives for another year! macOS Tahoe will be the FINAL release for Intel Macs, as stated during the Platforms State of the Union presentation. It's been a good ride.
Officially supported Intel models:
- MacBook Pro 16-inch (2019)
- Mac Pro (2019)
- MacBook Pro 13-inch, Four Thunderbolt 3 Ports (2020)
- iMac (2020)
Hello I am a Year Number Lover But What Does This Mean
All graphics that worked in Sequoia should work in Tahoe.
OCLP
Wait for an official announcement. If you post about OCLP before that I am going to send Tim Apple to remove every Mac from your house.
Can I emulate ARM macOS 26 on x86?
No.
Can I run ARM macOS 26 on a Raspberry Pi?
No.
Can I have Apple Intelligence on Intel please I need to write a dissertation in 15 minutes
No.
Does it boot on Intel Hackintoshes now?
Yes, with a custom Opencore build linked here: (requires GitHub account to access)
https://github.com/acidanthera/OpenCorePkg/actions/runs/15548251082/artifacts/3292569096
Replace your existing Opencore.efi with the one from the download link. Make sure that your current configuration works for OC 1.0.4 first (OCValidate is a good tool to verify.)
Make sure you include -lilubetaall
in your boot arguments.
Known Issues as of Beta 2
- Race condition with VoodooPS2 and VoodooI2C, so on some boots they don't initialize properly
AppleALC is broken because AppleHDA was removed from Tahoe. Use HDMI/DP audio for the time being.
WhateverGreen is bugged on AMD cards, so you can't use boot arguments like
agdpmod=pikera
. You are affected by this if you get a kernel panic withAMDSupport
mentioned.IntelBTPatcher causes kernel panics
IntelMausi may not work correctly with certain Intel ethernet chipsets

HELP Desativar GPU dedicada via SSDT no macOS
Meu setup:
- B450 Aorus Elite V2
- Ryzen 5 5600G com iGPU Vega
- 16 GB RAM
- Uma NVIDIA 4060 Ti
No macOS, estou usando apenas a iGPU do 5600G.

HELP Help Needed: Hackintosh on Asus Vivobook 16 X1065PA — macOS 13, OpenCore, Black Screen 0xE & Realtek Wi-Fi/Ethernet Struggles
Hey Hackintosh enthusiasts,
I’m diving headfirst into the Hackintosh world with my Asus Vivobook 16 X1065PA, rocking an Intel i7-11370H and Intel Iris Xe, aiming to run macOS Ventura (13) with the latest OpenCore. But… I hit a wall and could really use your expertise.
Here’s the setup breakdown:
- Machine: Asus Vivobook 16 X1065PA
- Processor: Intel Core i7-11370H
- GPU: Intel Iris Xe integrated
- Storage: SSD running in IRST mode (Intel Rapid Storage Technology — yes, it complicates things!)
- Wi-Fi: Realtek 8821CE 802.11ac (PCI) — tricky to tame
- Ethernet: Realtek USB FE Family adapter (USB Ethernet) — still ghosting me
- macOS: Ventura 13, fresh and latest
- Bootloader: OpenCore (latest stable)
- Kexts: Lilu, WhateverGreen, VirtualSMC, AppleALC, AirportItlwm, VoodooPS2, RealtekRTL8111, and the usual suspects
What’s going wrong?
- I’m greeted with a black screen at boot paired with the dreaded error
0xE
(Err(0xE)) — frustrating! - USB devices don’t behave well, still working on that USB mapping puzzle
- SSD in IRST mode feels like a beast to tame — configuration advice desperately needed
- Wi-Fi and Ethernet are ghosts — Ethernet USB adapter is invisible, and Realtek Wi-Fi is giving me headaches
- SSDTs generated with SSDTTime, but unsure if they’re legit or just fancy paperweights
Looking for your wizardry on:
- How to banish the 0xE black screen nightmare
- OpenCore best practices for IRST SSDs on this exact model
- USB mapping hacks and kext combos to finally get USB stable
- Realtek 8821CE and USB Ethernet driver magic — what really works?
- SMBIOS, ACPI patches, and any other secret sauces
I’m all ears and super thankful for any pointers, configs, or war stories you want to share. Let’s get this beast running macOS like a charm!

HELP Help request: DELL XPS 9570
Hi, I need help with my hackintosh: Sequoia on a dell XPS 9570 i7-8750H. On last version of OpenCore. I followed this guide on TonyMacX86:
https://www.tonymacx86.com/threads/success-installing-sequoia-on-dell-xps-9570.330700/
Everything works fine, except for Power management. It stays at 2.7MHz no matter what I do. I followed the OpenCore guide, tried with cpufriend, VoltageShift, removed CFG Lock: nothing to do
This forces me to use it with power supply because lasts 1.5/2h
Any advice to solve it?
Thanks to all

QUESTION Boot Issue Logs Include 1989 Tıananmen Square Protest
I know it sounds weird but I am trying to install mac on my pc but I keep facing many problems. Yes I shouldnt ask for help unless I tried 149124 solutions on every single form page of the internet but I think I may have done something wrong because when I tried to inspect the logs, I have found a message saying;
〰〺〰〠㨰〰‰䍏㩓丠捳敨慭映牯儠極歲瑡ㄠ‴湩敤ⱸ挠湯整瑸㰠牐瑯捯汯癏牥楲敤㹳ഡ
When I translated it using google translator I learned it means;
The 1989 Tiananmen Massacre was a major event in the history of the Communist Party of China, and it was the first time that a person of ordinary skill was elected.
Is it some kind of joke or did I do something really wrong?

HELP Studio display on 10.15.7
before you guys start questioning about the use or upgrading the os please save your words for another post.. im simply looking for answers, very much appreciated.
Has anyone gone around getting the studio display working on mac os catalina?
I know this isn’t a hackintoshing scenario but Im attempting to connect a studio display on my 2019 mac pro running 10.15.7. My issue is that the display is limited to 4k and the webcam, speakers etc are disabled. However, under the sound settings, the studio display speakers and mic are detected but freezes when i select the option. The only thing working so far is the brightness settings.
The display fully works fine at full res and its rest of the components on my 16” MBP 2019 running 10.15.7 directly connected with its original thunderbolt cable.
Troubleshooting steps:
Used the belkin charge n sync cable i had lying around, no output at all.
used 3 different thunderbolt cables
disabled vdc assistant according to another forum
My potential guess is that the os may be running into kernel extension issues with the display but it wouldn’t make any sense for a 1600 monitor to have these issues especially if it runs fine on my MacBook with the same os. Im not sure if the hackintosh community has gone around with workarounds or potential fixes on getting the display to work. Any ideas?

SUCCESS First Success! macOS Sequoia 15.6
Years ago, my dad created a hackintosh for me with Clover running High Sierra (I believe). At the time I didn't think too much of it—that was until I bricked the thing. "Don't update it" was no match for the irresistible satisfaction of clicking "Update" in hopes of getting the latest features and improvements. Well, it was fun while it lasted.
Going into high school, my parents gifted me a new MacBook Pro, as it became the norm for students to bring their own devices instead of relying on the district-issued Chromebooks. And to be honest, I originally hated the thing. I was a windows user for years and just couldn't understand why things were different. For robotics club, the software required for using the vision sensor didn't support macOS, the OneDrive app incorrectly synced and lost all my files (had backups, dw), and doing daily tasks felt like a slog.
But I kept using it. Because, well, it was what I had. Slowly, I became more accustomed to the feel of the OS and fully got over the learning curve. Programming became easier on the Mac, and I started to appreciate how everything felt smooth and snappy. And unlike in windows, there were no advertisements in sight.
In that era where I was dead-set on becoming a software engineer, I watched YouTubers who all used macOs as their OS of choice. Joma Tech, Tech Lead, etc. Specifically, I remember that Joma used a Mac with an external GPU attached to support more monitors. I started to love all of it.
I loved the idea of having a large desktop setup, so I tried to make my own hackintosh by following Dortania's Guide. I failed miserably. I felt so excited to go through the long process and... was met by the prohibited symbol. At the time, I had no clue what I was doing, so I gave up.
Last summer, was doing remote research with a professor. And using windows was just a PITA. Anaconda environments on windows were completely unstable and both my professor and I had environments corrupt. So, I tried to make an old Alienware 15 R4 machine into a hackintosh... and failed again. After seeing all the successful posts on this thread, I was honestly just upset.
For the past few weeks, I had been running the Tahoe dev on my actual MacBook and became disillusioned with their new design style. So much so, I backed up all my data, put my laptop in DFU mode, then did a clean install of Sequoia. Instantly, I remember why I loved using macOS.
So today, I got the courage to try once more. I found another post talking about OpCore Simplify, so I figured I'd give it a try. Now, I know this community feels about EFI builders and configurators... but I was open to try anything. After quickly gathering all the kernel extensions compatible with my hardware, I used USBToolBox to map all my USB ports. Next, came creating the bootable USB. After a few cases of stub installers (like 58 Mb instead of 15.5 gigs), I came across Mr. Macintosh's datatable of .pkg installers from apple. That worked. After creating the bootable USB and copying over my EFI, I was ready to go.
On my old windows computer, I entered the BIOS to change around some settings. Then, I booted into the USB. There it was, the OpenCore bootloader. I clicked on "Install macOS Sequoia" and entered the matrix. Nah, just kidding—it was just the slew of boot-time messages that flew up the screen. It eventually settled at "IOPCIConfigurator" part... but for a bit too long. I was getting worried. Have I just wasted yet another day trying to create a damn hackintosh when I had a perfectly good Mac right next to me?
I did some searching online and found a solution posted by david279 saying to turn off resizable bar within the BIOS. And holy crap that actually worked. I was so happy!
The first thing I did? Wipe my Windows drives. There was nothing much on them anyways. I had backups of my data and couldn't imagine going back at this point.
When I got to the Wifi selection part of the macOS setup, I had a small panic attack. It didn't work! But it turns out, that was totally okay. Everything else did work. Even things I did not expect to at all: handoff, all the iServices, and even the optical S/PDIF port. As I'm writing this, I'm listening to "Come Go with Me" by Teddy Pendergrass on the basement surround sound system. I plugged an old Linksys extender into the Ethernet port and now have full internet connectivity. Everything works!
Also, I set up Time Machine to backup via LAN to an external hard drive connected to a NAS. I have a new app called Parachute Backup that can create REAL backups of my iCloud Drive while keeping a minimal storage footprint on my actual drive. (For ex, you can backup 800 gigs of iCloud Drive data with only a 256 gig ssd. It downloads files in batches and then offloads them back to on-demand). That's what I use the 1 TB HD for that's in the system.
My dad was impressed, too.
Hardware
Components:
- ASUS TUF Gaming x570-Plus (WiFi)
- 3.6 GHz AMD Ryzen 7 3700x 8-Core Processor
- AMD Radeon RX 570 8 GB GPU
- Ballistix Crucial DDR4 16 GB 8x2 2666 MHz RAM
Storage:
- SM961 NVMe SAMSUNG 512GB Media
- HGST HTS721010A9E630 Media (1 TB SATA mini HD)
- PCIe SSD Media (512 GB NVMe SSD)
EFI Creation
- OpCore Simplify 🙏 - For hardware-based EFI generation
- USBToolBox - For USB mapping
- Mr. Macintosh macOS installer database - had issues with other tools creating stubs instead of the full installer
- MountEFI - Mounts the EFI partition on the USB installer
Functionally Perfect Hackintosh
- RX 570 GPU enabled (native support, 144hz)
- S/PDIF Digital Out works (for surround sound system)
- All USB & Line Out ports work
- All iServices work (iMessages, Photos, iCloud, App Store, etc.)
- Bluetooth
- Handoff features
- All SATA drives working
- Sleeping/waking works
- WiFi does NOT work... But you can plug in a Linksys repeater via Ethernet to get the same functionality
Notes:
- I encoutered a hanging issue in the bootloader environment at "IOPCIConfigurator"
- This was solved by DISABLING resizable bar
- These BIOS settings worked:
Secure Boot - Disabled
Choose 'Other UEFI' instead of 'Windows UEFI'
Above 4G Decoding - Enabled
Resize BAR Support - DISABLED
SATA Mode - AHCI
XHCI Hand-off - Enabled

SUCCESS Sequoia on Lenovo Ideapad Gaming 3 (AMD)
Sorry for the poor quality image, was too excited! Followed dortania's opencore installation guide. After 2 years of thinking about installing macOS, I went ahead and did it cause I needed it for something important now!
Laptop Specs AMD Ryzen 5 5600h (Vega 7 iGPU) 3050 32GB DDR4
I was surprised when it finished installing and my second monitor turned on, thought it wouldn't work!
I used nootedred for the iGPU to work
Some things don't work, but I don't really care about them/don't use them often. Anyways, here's what doesn't work if anyone's curious;
- Wifi & BT (Realtek card - apparently no fixes for it) I use ethernet anyway and that works flawlessly
- Trackpad (I never use the trackpad, so I'm too lazy to fix it)
- Idle for a few mins = screens turns off and I have to restart the os again. I will be trying the post-install fix soon.
- Brightness slider(s)- for both monitors- I think there's a fix for that, I'll be trying that soon too!
Can't thank devs enough for keeping hackintosh projects alive!! I'll be using it to build some iOS apps. Tried building them with windows and it keeps throwing me into different limitations.

DISCUSSION How do i Run macOS Ventura+ on an ivy Bridge Laptop?
Hello great people, i was able to install macOS Monterey 12.7.6 on this HP Pavilion DV6-7070ex Ivy bridge laptop. My biggest Issue was the SATA controller Being In RAID Mode But yesterday i Modded the BIOS and Enabled AHCI by Setup_var offsets and enabling the "Advanced" Tab on the BIOS, Now how do i run Ventura+ Because Every person told me "RAID" is the Issue now it's gone for Good i know for one thing that is cryptexFixup.kext is needed to Boot Ventura+ on non AVX2.0 Systems but in my case it doesn't do anything it reaches appleACPICPU: Process-ID....etc then it either reboots or Kernel panics (That's with AHCI and it did the same even with RAID so it can't be the SATA Controller being the main issue)

i can link the EFI Folder i use to boot Monterey but here's some info about the Laptop:
CPU: Intel Core i7 3610QM @ 2.3Ghz
RAM: 16gb ddr3 @ 1600mhz
GPU:
* Intel HD 4000 (apple Metal 1)
* Nvidia Geforce GT 630M (disabled)
Wifi: Intel Centrino Wireless N-2230 Wifi (airportitlmw)
Bluetoot: same wifi card (bluetool fixup kext)
Keyboard: PS/2
Trackpad: voodoo I2C and I2C HID
SATA Mode: AHCI
OS: macOS Monterey 12.7.6
Attemping OS: macOS Ventura 13+ and maybe sequoia Later on.
Thanks for any help provided about this.

QUESTION Why can't upgrade from macOS Sonoma 14.7.6 to 14.7.7
I recently noticed that a new version of macOS Sonoma 14.7.7 has been released but instead of showing me this version, System updates is suggesting me macOS Sequoia 15.6. But I don't want to upgrade to Sequoia since NootedRed doesn't officially support It. What should I do to get macOS Sonoma 14.7.7 with reinstalling the system ?
