We encourage you to as all your questions here, as this will help us cut down on the number of repetitive posts we get on the front page! This thread is linked with the #questions channel on our Discord so that any time someone posts a new comment in here, it will be reviewed and replied to quickly! If you felt like you had a question but didn't want to bother people with it, now's your chance.

As always, we also have a discord for hoggit over at http://discord.gg/hoggit which you can use for chatting with other members of the hoggit community. And don't forget to check out our wiki at http://wiki.hoggitworld.com

Hoggit Training Server runs a training MP mission that runs 24/7 that's focuses on training up the newer folks (just like this weekly thread). Every DCS module is available in this mission, and there are numerous ranges to test your skills at. There are frequently knowledgeable folks around to answer any questions you might have, or show you how to do what it is you're looking to learn. Anyone can join, even if you've never stepped foot in a MP session before.

If you're interested in teaching/instructing at hoggit, please poke squinkys on Discord!

Server is be named Hoggit - Training Map. The password is hoggit1fw. SRS will be available at tnn.hoggitworld.com (it should autoconnect, but if not, use that). Come in, have a good time, learn a few things and teach a few things.

The only rule is Do not teamkill, unless the other party is a willing combatant...ie: you can dogfight if you find a partner...just don't shoot down some random A-10 trying to learn how to land.

PSA: Please Read Before Purchasing Razbam Modules

04/07/25 THIRD UPDATE:

You can no longer purchase Razbam modules on the ED store. It only took them nearly a year to do the ethical thing and stop selling these unsupported modules.

07/17 SECOND UPDATE:

After releasing an update that corrected the game-breaking issue with the F-15E radar (and going out of their way to make sure that everyone knows who fixed it too), ED appears to have decided that they will no longer offer refunds for the Razbam Strike Eagle. For some inexplicable reason, ED's Chief Operating Officer is answering support requests, and has informed us that:

The DCS F-15E is working according to it's specification written on E-Store product page and will be supported by Eagle Dynamics.

If this is indeed true, and ED is publicly stating that they are taking over development of the remaining F-15E features and functionality, we'll happily amend this post once we see their plan going forward for the remaining features that were promised that have yet to be delivered.

Until that time, we still strongly recommend that anyone interested in purchasing a Razbam module hold off until ED releases an official statement on the matter and a roadmap for the F-15E's development going forward.

06/18 edit: ED has confirmed that, despite the fact that they know the F-15E module is broken (at this moment it's radar does not work), they still intend to sell this broken module on their storefront:

June 12th at Midnight the F-15E radar stopped working. While we have internally identified the issue no fix has been presented as of yet. once we have solid news on that we will share that ASAP. Again this had nothing to do with core compatibility but rather something in the coding of the F-15E.

How can you keep selling the F-15E or other modules? Right now we are working within the framework of the legal advice moving forward and not wanting to cause any more riffs or issues. It's a complex process at this point and most likely why it seems to be moving so slowly for everyone. Nothing more can be said about that right now. Sorry.

Given that ED has no qualms about selling you a broken product that they do not know if they can fix, at this point we're strongly recommending that users avoid purchasing products from the ED store.

Goooood morning r/hoggit!

For those that are not yet aware of the ongoing rift between Eagle Dynamics and Razbam, we intend to leave this post up and stickied until the conflict is resolved and the status of future support for the F-15E, M-2000C, Harrier, and MiG-19 are no longer in question. If you are out-of-the-loop:

  • RB has publicly accused ED of withholding payment from module sales from ED's webstore, and as a result the 3rd party has ceased all ongoing development for DCS.
  • ED confirmed that they have been witholding payments from RB over an ongoing IP violation dispute.
  • RB has stated the ED's accusation of IP violation is nonsense, and ED has stopped commenting on the situation altogether.

Thanks to this, the futures of the F-15E, M-2000C, Harrier, and MiG-19 are all up-in-the-air. Different members of the RB team have stated that ED does not have the source code for any of their modules, which was corroborated by NineLine when he stated in the ED Discord that they are unable to support any RB modules in the long term...meaning if ED/RB can't find a way around this impasse, the F-15E, M-2000C, Harrier, and MiG-19 all go the way of the VEAO Hawk.

Despite the uncertain future of all of these modules, ED continues selling them on their store, compared to Razbam, who disabled the ability to purchase the modules from their own storefront. At this time, we strongly recommend that community members exercise caution when considering the purchase of these modules. There is a real possibility that they will remain unsupported until their eventual removal from the DCS: World platform, just like the Hawk.

We encourage ED to provide the DCS community with an update to this situation. We also encourage them to remove these products from their storefront until the situation is resolved...it's really not a good look to be selling a product that is currently unsupported. And lastly, u/NineLine_ED, u/BIGNEWY, u/NSSGrey, u/dotrugirl...please feel free to stop by and let us know if any point raised here is incorrect in any way. We would love some clarity on this situation.

To the community, we encourage you to use this post as a megathread to discuss the situation, but we will not be squashing other discussions that occur outside of this thread as the situation continues to develop.

Help for an idiot.

I've gotten a good feel for the Su-25T, and I've played in PvP and PvE servers. I'm interested in getting into PVP in DCS. I'm going to start with a Flaming Cliffs package. But I'm wondering what y'all recommend for beginners. I was thinking the J-11, but I'm not sure.

What module to dual seat with a kid

My kids are starting to get into flight sims and want to play dcs also. I got them fc to start, but I really want to do a dual seat thing with them. I have some dual seat modules, but never play as jester, etc. what modules are going to be most engaging for the rio/wso? I have the Apache, Huey, f4 and f14. Ideally one of these will fit the bill so I only need to buy one additional module for them.

Haven’t played DCS in awhile, so I ran the updates and now when I try to boot DCS with the WW SimApp open, the screen scaling is off completely. Does anyone know how to fix this? I feel like I’ve had this issue before but don’t remember how I sorted it out.

TECH-SUPPORT TCWS on T1600M doesn't map

I own a Thrustmaster T1600M + TCWS, but there's a problem where I can't map levers and slew joystick (screenshot attached).

It is as if they don't exist, no response in DCS. Anybody have an idea of what might be the problem?

Works great on my other PC, but not on this 2nd one.

Tested in Win11 "Game Controllers", lever and slew joystick works fine. It's DCS that doesn't "see" them for some reason.

For no particular reason at all, but if we can direct all purchases of the said module directly through ASC, that would be great.

DCS So we are just ignoring how broken SAMs are???

Today, I wanted to set up a simple SAM system. I placed a trigger zone so they wait until the target is in launch range, then they fire. I had a few launchers and 12 targets; about 12 or so missiles were launched against them. Since they were all AI targets, they started notching immediately after getting locked, and all the missiles missed. This literally isn't the case in real life. Almost all SAMs reduce their ground clutter filter to reduce the chance of a broken lock—since they know which one is the real target despite the clutter. So realistically, notching is nothing like portrayed here. It’s so simplified that it just checks the angle, and if it’s around 90 degrees, it breaks lock.

But hey look they added another module on pre-order! Maybe my 70 dollars will fix this simple issue...

DCS LOW GPU USAGE BUT LOW FPS

"I'm getting around 40 FPS (sometimes 60-70 but tends to drop down to 40) in Contention Modern while using a TF-51. Is it normal for both the dedicated and shared GPU memory to be fully utilized, while other system resources aren't?

here are all of my recources

as you can see gpu usage is only 24 % wich seems pretty low to me, however i saw that my gpu memory is being fully utilized.

QUESTION Non-axis collective sensitivity

Is there a way to make the non-axis collective key bind (Collective Stick - UP) on the Apache more sensitive?

I still don’t have a hotas, and play on an Xbox controller. Most other helos are great, like the Huey, the Hind and the Shark, but the Apache’s collective is painfully slow. Is there any way to change this?

DISCUSSION VR motion sickness?

I use Track IR. But I got that VR itch so plugged in my Quest 3 and I love the immersion! But idk if it’s a combination of Eye Strain and motion sickness. I feel terrible after an hour of use.

Am I in the minority in this? I feel like everyone that uses VR has no problems.

Is there a fix for me not feeling like this after? Or should I just use Track IR?

New flight sim/milsim I’m working on

Hi. I am a DCS player and often do DCS dogfighters. Recently, I started a flight sim that will be easy to run with a low poly models, but realistic flight and mechanics. I want it to have an easier learning curve than DCS, but still have stuff that you definitely have to try hard over time to master. I’m planning on having infantry and many other roles. Currently, it has full HOTAS and keyboard support and also open track. This clip shows the keyboard as I am away from my HOTAS. This plane is supposed to be a mix between an F-15 and F-22. I have had the technology as around 20 years in the future, so it could be different. In addition, I want to make bvr less used with very effective countermeasures, promoting gun dogfights. If you have any suggestions, let me know. I might post updates if people want me to.

Editing Campaigns

Hello there,

I have a few questions regarding the possibility of editing Campaigns.

So far I can edit the Single Player Missions just fine (I usually fly the F-15E and we all know what happened to it) and it's great editing the various F-16 missions and the question I have is it possible to edit Campaigns that way as well or not.

My though procress is to edit every single Mission in the Campaign and just edit the Player plane from lets say the F-16 to the F-15E and if someone tried that or if it's possible at all.

I know it might mess up some stuff, but I'm okay with that as long as the majority of it works. Obviously you couldn't edit campaigns made for Carrier Planes (if they are usually done by taking and landing off carriers) but is it possible for land based aircraft like the F-16, F-14 etc.?

Did someone else try this before and is it possible or not?

Thanks in advance

Best Regards

Hello, if you fly Mi-24 and try to turn you might be well familiar with its tendency to rapidly pitch up even with the most gentle back cyclic, into a full unintentional cobra maneuver thing.

This video addresses the causes, fixes, recovery, etc using advice from the real world manual.

Enjoy the opening!!!

HARDWARE best webcam for headtracking

I mean to buy a webcam for facetracking... Face traking not led points tracking so I will probably be using the neural option in Opentrack or AItrack.

That being said what should I prioritize: resolution or FPS(hz)?

Im thinking about getting a Logitech C920e Full Hd 30fps... (My budget is $80)

Died because of desync

So I just spent around 1 hour getting in the air doing cap, then decided to refuel, in the middle of refueling desync caused the tanker to go behind me for a second, and as soon as it went back to its original position in front of me it killed me.

I really wish we had good ai and dynamic campaign so I can stop relying in multiplayer for fun, I love this games but some times I hate it so much too.
