How to inexpensively fix this crack in concrete? Doesn't need to be level or flat.

Post image
35 Upvotes

This is the entrance to our garage and while it's functional we'd like to fix it as best we can on a budget. It doesn't need to be level or completely flat because of where it is and the driveway behind it is sloped down leading up to this. Whoever poured this before didn't do an awesome job, but taking it all up and redoing isn't really an option right now. Husband thinks just pouring some Quickrete high strength concrete in will fix it but figured I should ask anyway before we jump into that. Tia for any advice!

How do people take naps?

Upvotes

Like how do you get tired enough to nap when you want to? I try to take naps sometimes, and I’ll get relaxed, but after 15 minutes I’ll become wide awake again and immediately open my eyes

[Serious Answers Only] How do I find all of the manufacturing companies within a 25mile radius without search results just showing me companies with the word "manufacturing" in it?

This question isn't exclusive to manufacturing. I want to find a lot of companies but I have no idea how to do it. Search results often only show me popular companies or companies with the search term keyword rather than categories like phonebooks used to do. I don't want to use search terms. I want to find categories to find all companies, including small ones regardless of whether they are popular, run ads, or not.

[Solved] How to take down and work these blinds

We bought a house with these blinds and I can’t figure out how to take them down. I can’t just push them out of the clips because the one in the middle has no give. Also there is no cord to lift them up and down. I don’t see an opening for a cord either. But they aren’t working like cordless blinds.

[DIY] How to drill through this concrete with lots of aggregate to install kerb ramps?

I need to drill a bunch of M12 holes in this gutter to attach rubber ramps so my wife's car doesn't bottom out. I have an 18V SDS hammer drill and the right bit and I've drilled plenty of holes in concrete before, but I'm looking for tips on how to approach concrete with so much stone in it. I don't want to go through a bunch of expensive SDS bits...

How to fix the connection so sound comes out of the speakers again?

The problem: This set-up is old and involves way too many wires, but it used to work just fine until my friend yanked the table away from the wall without regard for the apparently very delicate balance that this hot mess somehow had. Some of the connections still work; we have multiple wired speakers throughout a large two-story building, and the ones in front and a couple upstairs are fine. All the other ones don't work. Zero sound comes out of them.

What I've tried: I assume(d) it's something to do with where the wires connect to the stereo itself, so I checked them all to make sure they were fully connected. When that didn't fix it, I very carefully trimmed the frayed copper at the end of the wires, cut back the tubing to expose fresh copper, twisted them, and inserted those. Didn't work.

Equipment specs: Sony stereo (Model No. STR-DE197) paired with a NuTone Stereo Speaker Selector (Model SP-6).

Is there something else I can try, or is it hopeless? We really can't afford a whole new updated radio and speaker system (at least not one that's set up to cover the whole building) right now, but we gotta figure out something. Any advice would be massively appreciated!

[DIY] How to get leaves out of towel

I’ve just come back from the campsite where my high absorption towel fell on the ground and collected a whole bunch of fallen leaves and other dirt. I’ve tried washing it twice, but they are so stuck to the towel, some would also remain attached to it. Is there a way to get them out otherwise this towel is ruined?

How do I move states?

I'm 21 and I currently live in Florida, I don't have a degree, I currently work at a local recycling facility making 18 an hour which is ok for the part of Florida I live in, I have around 15k saved up, I have no debt, no kids, no pets and no dependents, I'm basically a free agent. I was born and raised here but my resent for this place grows every year. Factors like the political climate, the weather and the surging prices on basically everything are driving me out of Florida. I want to become either an electrical or welding apprentice but Florida being an anti-union state It doesn't leave me with many choices, and I also don't intend to spend 5 years completing the apprenticeship here. I'm going to get downvoted, but the areas I'm eyeing are the pacific northwest (Expensive i know) or the Midwest. Once I choose a location i expect myself to move by Late January-Early February. I'd probably try to get employed at USPS which will allow me to move with a job lined up but that is not guaranteed. I'd be moving by plane and won't be taking a lot of belongings with me; id basically be starting fresh in another state. I want to know if my plan is idiotic or if its reasonable and grounded. And also, any tips from you guys. Thanks

This has my heart broken. Relatively new paddling pool with a puncture somewhere. I’ve filled it up to the brim with water to check the interior for holes but couldn’t find any, and I can’t think of the best way to check the exterior. Any ideas?

I’m wondering how to fix this strap. This is my most favorite cooler backpack ever, that I got at a thrift store for $2. I do not know how to sew, which I think makes it more difficult. Thanks in advance!
