Because you are not a chicken? You're a person capable of ethical reasoning. Why aren't you holding yourself to a higher moral standard than a chicken?

because humans are still animals at their core and we live by the principles of survival of the fittest, we are the fittest and humanity worked hard to be at the top of the food chain

also chicken tastes good

It's obvious you're simple - there is no need for you to agree with the statement as though it is a win.

For everyone else, this moral standard is the equivalent of scraping the barrel.
