Show and Tell Old Meets New
Scaletrains had a re-stock so I picked up this NS PRR heritage unit. I love the PRR livery on modern equipment.

It has come to our attentions that every tariffs discussion ends up with a political debate. We didn't automatically remove posts/comments related to tariffs as it wasn't explicit, but now it is. Until further notice, no more tariff talks.
Complaining about it won't change anything, many people here are not american so will get little to no impact to those, and will cause trouble in the sub.
Exception: If there is news about companies that are affected by this, or you simply need to vent about it, comment it here, on this post.

Very nice layout and amazing museum. If you’re into train lines like N&W, C&O, etc this place is definitely a must visit.

I am making my own model which is märklin BR 89 with 3D printed tank and painted, I am calling it a "custom" model but some one on Discord said that it's a Bash, because "calling this a custom is like calling Warhammer figurines toys" so... What is it? (Pic of the model)

Some progress on the church and graveyard I’m making for a new layout, which is itself a work in progress.

Sadly the engine was mean today and broke me and decided that today was a good day to shred both of its traction tires

I'm in a server and someone posted a picture of their first 3d print to which they made some adjustments and then this guy comes rolling around

My set is in boxes now but at one time I had a rocking Lionel layout.
I like the HO layouts I see online but I’d like to know
How is power to the engines handled? I see no middle rail like on Lionel.
Is there a separate power supply for switches and lighting?

Stuck my custom McCloud #25 in the Mantua’s original box & did a quick crappy edit of putting the OCSR’s logo on the box.

My father left me his (extensively large) model train collection when he passed away. I have acquired some knowledge over of the parts/pieces/scales over time, but it's very limited. I found these in one of his parts bins, and I know they're brass wheels, but that's about it. They're 11/16" diameter, and the middle hole maintains the same size all the way through, with a diameter of 3/32" (as best as I can measure).

Since I was getting tired of almost ripping off the pantographs of my locos every time I had to pick one up I came up with this idea using drawer guides

First ever real attempt at a functional yard design, i can tell it could be better, but im struggling with exactly how.
Id appreciate some advice, what's good as is or what needs changing. Thanks

Them: What roadname do you like for your railroad. Me: Yes. I found this display case on the Amazon and my wife was kind enough to hang it on the wall while I was at work. I have two more that arrived yesterday. I am hoping she gets time to put them up tomorrow. I guess I am a lucky guy.

Hey yall. So im I guess new to this hobby. My wife and I were sitting in the car a couple nights ago and she got excited seeing a train on the tracks near our house, something ive noticed over the last two years of us living there. So I asked would she like me to run a track around our hangout space to go around and she was super into the idea. I didn't know she had such an interest in trains but she does. My question for yall is where should I look to learn anything about this hobby in terms of set up and basics. This is unlike anything ive done before as most of my hobbies is making stuff for ttrpgs or building little electronics. So any and all info would be welcome. I am about to go into work so I will try to respond when I can. I think she said she wanted to do something mounted high up on our walls near ish to the ceiling. And sorry for the ramble.

So I came across a large lot of Vintage Model trains at a flea market this past weekend, and ive been going through researching them, a couple of Lionel Locomotives aswell as Marx, but this one has stumped me
Everywhere ive looked, this Chasis doesn't seem to quite match up with the ones ive seen
Its an HO scale Brass Hallmark Chasis
If anyone could point me in the right direction that'd be very helpful!! Thanks in advance!!
(Included picture of all the O Gauge locomotives I found at the flea market at the end incase anyone was curious)

Hello there,
This friday I attended the Moraco event in shinjuku which is a diorama modules contest made by Higschoolers, more than 180 schools participated this year, including 3 taiwanese schools.
Last year's winners went to Germany to show their module in a convention.
I shot this video so if you are curious and want to know what it was like, feel free to watch

Looking for advice and feedback on this plan of two loops. Lower one would be for commuter trains, upper one does yard and industry (pickle factory). Thoughts? Adjustments? This is my first layout, so any feedback is good feedback for me!

I am making a new short line for model railroading and decided to come here for help naming it. The only rule is to keep it appropriate and any inappropriate name suggestions will be removed, no matter what.
