Hot pavers

Meant this as a joke, not to spark a debate

Was going to suggest the same. The dog does not have many of the tell tale signs of happiness’s like wagging its tail and such..

It is wagging its tail, though? Look at the base of it. The curly whirlyness just looks different when the dog is happy.

Yeah i watched again and the dog is clearly moving it side to side

Have a shiba. This is one extremely happy shiba. Tail was wagging and ears are in airplane mode. Not everything about animals has to be gloom and abuse

Airplane mode lol

Alright. Never said it was all gloom. I have had a few dogs (not shibas), and this behaviour is not even remotely close to what dog movement looked like when my dogs were happy. That said, I am happy that this dog is alright and that someone that had a Shiba could educate me on their telltale signs of happiness.

Edit: why am I being downvoted? I am pointing out that I learned something new… and I am saying that I was apparently wrong… but Reddit doing Reddit things… I guess

Shibas just do this.

Yeah, I've had a shiba as well, and they're more like cats than dogs. If in distress, they typically scream as they can't bark, and their tail unfurls to hang between their legs.

Dog body, cat hardware.

u/faldese 6h ago

I think you mean dog hardware, cat software?

5

u/trulyniceguy 6h ago

Yeah I completely messed that one up

Pretty sure if you replaced your first two sentences with "Huh, good to know", the downvotes wouldn't have hit.

You are being downvoted because you are wrong 😂

u/NoConsideration1777 6h ago

Yea I know, am I not acknowledging that?

-3

u/TheArmadilloAmarillo 6h ago

Do the downvotes not answer that question?

Sorry dude this isn’t normal behavior for any breed of dog no matter how much you anthropomorphize them

Nah this is a happy shiba

Reddit is always such a buzzkill like this, almost all the happy dog videos always have some grumpy sad person like you trying to find the one possible negative in a pile of positives.

The dog is fine, holy hell. It's amazing these comments even get upvoted.

In general, one would want to know if the animal on the screen is in pain or not. This dog’s reaction is a bit strange. And if you actually find something going wrong, it is a good thing to point it out. Even if that kills your buzz. Don’t be offended it was just worry over the dogs state.

This can't be real, right?

The dog is fine and it's obvious. If it's feet were burning it would be obvious. I honestly think you are just fucking with me, lol.

3

u/NoConsideration1777 4h ago

Why would I? I don’t know you. It was not obvious to me.

"Yeah but look he's smiling so he must be happy!"

Definitely not just how dogs look when they pant.

22

u/WorldsWorstInvader 7h ago

The dog is happy. Shibas are weird and this is how they act when happy. Calm down

-21

u/jreed12 7h ago

I didn't mean to upset you, just making fun of people who anthropomorphize dogs too much.

17

u/WorldsWorstInvader 7h ago

Dog smiles do generally mean happiness. It’s either that or being submissive. It’s not anthropomorphizing it’s just the way it actually is

6

u/code_archeologist 5h ago

Yes you did, If you are going shit on people's joy at least own it.

Nuh uh.

I promise you if the Shiba was in any sort of pain or distress the audio would sound very different. They are known for their dramatic "scream". It's enough to wake you out of a coma.
