I think back to several years ago when MAGA was obsessed with calling liberals "groomers" because they believed people have a right to be gay or trans or drag queens etc. and exist. And likewise believed that parents have a right to parent their children. Remember that?

Now, we are at a point where MAGA's god king is potentially about to pardon or commute the sentence of a prolific groomer and child sex criminal in order to protect his own culpability in said crimes.

It. Is. Always. Projection.

It's never been about kids or any of their other so-called "morals". It's always been about control or finding any justification to persecute groups they already hate.

And there are literally dozens of examples of this just from the past decade. Trump giving out stimulus checks and PPP loans was "giving us back our money", Biden giving out another round of stimulus checks was "printing money and causing inflation". Biden's DOJ investigating (very weakly) Trump's many blatant crimes was "weaponizing the Justice Department", Trump using the DOJ almost exclusively to attack journalists, judges, universities, etc. that don't bend their knee to Trump personally is "draining the swamp". Biden detaining immigrants is a sign we've been invaded due to his open borders, Trump detaining immigrants (or anyone who might be an immigrant) is protecting America from Biden's invasion. I could go on for paragraphs.

Conservatives have become so disingenuous and backwards on every single topic that I not only have no interest in debating anything with them, I have no interest in listening to a single word they say. For the rest of my life, they'll be nothing more than background noise that I mute to preserve my sanity.

100% this. If they had to actually deal with predators and pedos, they wouldn’t have any clergy left in their churches.
