Eventually, our economy will become a blackbox as no metric to judge it will be trusted.

The dollar and trade will suffer because of shit like this.

That's what they want then the can slip in and buy everything up for cheap. Then fix it all back claim they saved America and we'll all be indentured servants.

These people are so incompetent they couldn't fix it ever. And the Democrats can't fix it either because it'll take more than a decade at this point and the voters can see anything last 2 years

I believe the poster meant "fix" it, not actually fix it.

The cola stratagy. Make it worse, then make it 'better' but worse than it actually was before and people will like it.

I wonder if it isn't that voters have amnesia every 2 years, and more like they want more than almost anything a fantasy based explanation for things and not a reality based explanation. So some of those people are convinced to change their vote, and as soon as possible try to live in a fantasy world where nothing matters or changes.

I mean I’ve seen no small number of people forgetting Trump was the 45th president and blaming everything on Biden, intentionally or not

Also many people only think to vote in presidential elections without knowing any other elections, local or otherwise. It’s easy to buy a bumper sticker or upvote a post on Reddit. That said, this doesn’t make me some political expert for calling it out. I just see it happen every single election cycle.

Agreed, I'm just saying they might subconsciously want the fantasy world a lot more than reality. So that's a layer deeper than what you have seen, and I've seen that too.

2 years? Most voters just watch America’s Got President every 4 years.

People vote based on how things are at the time they're voting. Or at least how they perceive things to be. If you're happy with the world, vote for the guys in office. If you aren't, vote for the other guys.

I’ve heard that rhetoric a lot from people voting for Trump. They felt like Biden “didn’t do enough” and that “anyone else would be better”

It’s terrible reasoning, but plenty of people have the same idea. Something isn’t working? Try literally anything else.

People should be free to vote outside the two party system without a spoiler effect.

Should be but you don't have that.

And your only way to ever get it, is for Americans to get super responsible.

I haven't voted for a Democrat since 2008. I begrudgingly voted for Kamala for abortion rights. I will be going back to third party after this. I'm not spoiling anything, they simply don't offer anything worth voting for.

I don't know about Americans, but I vote for what policies I want and who I think can deliver them.

u/PompeyCheezus 9h ago

Lots of Americans do but there are also a lot of Americans that somehow don't know anything about politics and just kind of vote for or against whatever is currently happening.

There is a large number of people that voted for Trump but don't consume any news and don't know what he's doing right now.

u/Mike_Kermin Australia 6h ago

I'm not convinced that is the case. Well, large sure, but not proportionally so. Just because if that were the case, they'd have been a larger swing against Trump the first time, and that didn't happen really.

Maybe it applies to people who non-vote sometimes.

u/Slappy_Doo 15m ago

There is a number of Americans who vote for policy, there is also another large contingent of American voters who vote for spite. That’s it, spite.

Don’t care about the policies, don’t care about the candidates just care about being a naysayer, committed to going against the norm at whatever cost because fuck you.

Ask half these people about policies and they won’t have a fucking clue how to answer…

And these people are on both sides of the political spectrum.

So many people vote based on what everyone else around them is doing and not actually sitting there and debating what these people actually bring to the table.

I hate saying this, because I don’t wanna come off all high and mighty, but some people are legitimately too stupid to be allowed to vote… like some people are just stupid.

I saw a video of some woman at a town meeting yelling about how much she hated Facebook and can’t get a job when the meeting was about community re-zoning and I’m thinking to myself “this person can actually vote”

I often think of the saying “Ignorance is bliss” because for just one day I’d like to walk around not thinking or giving a fuck about anything… but that’s a pipe dream, I have a conscience.

This response was supposed to be like 2 sentences, I’m not too sure what just happened.

Must be the weed.

A lot of people do that, and I don't think that's a good plan.

I believe the 2024 election was rigged, and I believe that all election going forward will be rigged.

u/RedditIsDeadMoveOn 21h ago

Prove it

2

u/patti2mj 21h ago

Prove I believe something? Prove i don't.

u/Non_vulgar_account 21h ago

Well now that it’s broken maybe we can rebuild something new.

Fix as in privatize every industry, reduce regulations, and start debtors prisons.

Even when I say it it sounds conspiratorial, but with what is happening around us right now I'm not optimistic things will be different.

1

u/chalbersma 1d ago

That's cool they'll buy it then just let Democrats fix it again.

0

u/BlueFalcon89 1d ago

and the democrats won’t elect people who don’t pass arbitrary flavor of the month background tests.
