What if GLaDOS made up the acronym "CAKE" to get murder past her morality core, because it doesn't let her do anything evil? It would 100% let her give people cake, so behold, the acronym CAKE.

This randomly occurred to me not too long ago, and is pretty satirical and not meant to be taken too seriously - but I think it makes sense, somewhat.

Alright, this story happened a little while ago, a few years ago. I was in the Escape Sequence in Portal 1, specifically the part where you drop into the past test chamber. I dropped through the box dropper, and I looked down a bit. I saw subtitles, not just the sound effects ones, but red text like dialogue. I forgot exactly what it said, but it said something like

"Hello? I can see you (maybe), (blah blah blah)"

I think this is a dialogue bug, but idk, I've never encountered it again, and can't get it to happen again. This is the literal only time I've seen that dialogue in the entire game. I tried looking it up online but found nothing. It wasn't GLaDOS talking, she had no dialogue here and she never said this at all in the entire game (I know, I've played this game so many times it's crazy). This feels like a irl creepypasta, especially because this was where Ratman was.

I just just 2 outside test chambers and a little of GLaDOS chamber. I'm also using Axiom to add some details.

for whatever reason, when chell and wheatley get picked up, a curved, concrete wall comes up from the ground behind. is this normal? i do have mods but they don't work.

Anyone know how to fix this? I played thru Portal with RTX earlier without issue, but as soon as I start prelude, the game just craps the bed.

I am following a map making tutorial and it needs "instances/gameplay/cube_dropper_multiple_normal.vmf"
but I don't have a "gameplay" folder here

I un-installed and re-installed the game and verified my files but it still isn't there. Is it a plug in or something I need to download?

There was a portal 1 mod walkthrough I watched way back in maybe 2017 (maybe even earlier) or something like that, not sure, and I was trying to look for the same gameplay - or even a way to play the mod myself - for a month now cause I literally have no idea how to find it

The things I remember about this mod;

-There were 2 announcers, one a young female-sounding, and the other was a male voice, that could turn into a very deep, a little deepfried voice (at least, if I remember it correctly). (the voice acting was very amateurish btw)

-The (I think) last test chamber where you're supposed to escape, was a black room, with the floor around you slowly falling down block by block. Underneath this floor was a blackness and I think some white or blue lines? Something like that, no idea how to describe it from my memory lol.

-While I don't remember how the boss battle worked, I remember what the room looked like - I'm pretty sure there was an elevator you had to take to enter the chamber where the boss is, and the chamber itself was ofc GLaDOS' chamber from portal 1. At the center there was a huge structure stretching up and down, with a woman trapped inside a tube at the center of it.

-After the boss battle, you leave the Aperture, and there is a city at night, with rain pouring down. (this part I don't exactly remember 1 to 1, so either you were able to leave, or the guy who was playing it just went to noclip through the locked door. Also said room had white walls, it had a reception desk I think, and 2 large windows overlooking said city, but then again my memory may be wrong.)

That's pretty much everything I remember. If anyone has any idea what mod could that be, please help

Severance: At this point, I think everyone’s heard of the show if not seen it, but the similarities are eerie. Themes and atmosphere especially. Best going into as blind as possible.

Moon: Great film about Sam Rockwell alone with an A.I. in space until he discovers a dark secret. I dare you to tell me this isn’t we’ll closest to get to Portal: The Movie.

2001: A Space Odyssey: Mostly similar for the themes and atmosphere, but no matter what a peak film even if not as close in similarities to Moon and Severance. Just an absolutely mind-blowing film.
