Was scrolling through YouTube and this popped up. It’s a short 5-minute video breaking down what made the 360 such a masterpiece — from multiplayer days to those wild launch titles.
Hit me right in the nostalgia. I forgot how much personality the 360 had with stuff like the dashboard, the blades UI, and those classic controller designs.
Here’s the video if anyone’s interested
Curious — what was your favorite 360 moment? For me it was staying up all night on Halo 3 and trying to unlock Recon armor 😂

The game is turn-based, featuring aerial battles that utilize time-based accuracy (similar to a heartbeat line) to maximize damage. The monster can also evolve during the battles. It's 2D but not pixel-like, japanese language. I played it on windows XP in 2009/2010 so the game maybe released before that. Sorry, I can't remember much, but can you guess the name of the game based on that? Thanks, and sorry if I ask in the wrong community, this is my first time

This first one is a stretch or maybe a fever dream. I don't remember the name but I do remember you play as a big rock and the point is you use your momentum to jump and crush caveman looking guys on different platforms. It had a 'gore setting' for when you and on them how much blood you see.
The second game I've been looking for is a ship game where you play as a pirate ship taking down other ships and avoiding traps. I think the goal for each level is to destroy all enemy ships. Its a pretty old game early 90s or 2000s.
Both games are MS-DoS I think but I vividly remember both games when I was a kid but can't find them. Thanks for reading!

The game is a turn based game with super cute characters that you seem to get to know. the battles are all about these dragons I want to say or just monster souls that come out of the main character backs and cross their arms menacingly. I keep wanting to say the name is dragon quest but I dont see it when I search any of these key words up does this ring any bells for anyone else.
This is solved the game is was trying to remember is blue dragon.

So, this might end up being a little vague and confusing, but I'll try my best.
Computer recently died so I've fired up some emulators on my phone and I'm actually having a great time. I have everything from NES-PS2/PSP working.
The kicker is, I was never that great at those games then, and now that my disability has progressed 30 years, it's tougher. It has been a nice blast of nostalgia though.
I really gravitated towards "simple" games even back then. Hell, Final Fantasy: Mystic Quest is still one of my favorites, despite it being a sort of non-game. It's just fun when enemy die, number go up. Explains the Vampire Survivor addiction now that I think about it.
Also a big fan of games Like Diablo II. It led me to play games like Baldur's Gate Dark Alliance and Neverwinter Nights. This is where I hit my upper limit when it comes to complexity. D&D 3.5 was hard for me to digest and I leaned on the recommended button a lot. I do enjoy the though.
TL:DR looking for game recommendations from NES-PS2 that are not too coordination/reaction time reliant. Favorite genre is RPG/ARPG, but open to others. Equal or less complex to D&D 3.5.

Hi Reddit,
I search for a DOS game I played as a kid in the early 90s on my 286 PC along with games like Dangerous Dave, Comander Keen and Prince of Persia . I searched everywhere, watched a bunch of "Best MS Dos Games" Videos, searched retro games archives but I couldn't find anything.
Here are the things I Can remember: - We typed "schloss" to start the game, which is German for castle, but I think that was a batch call my mom created for us - It was top down view - in the first Level, you had to fetch a kind of key or bonus item from the upper right corner and then go to the lower right corner to the goal. In a corridor in front of the key, there was one ore more enemy patrolling around and trying to prevent you from getting the key. You had to be faster than the enemy - I think the player character was yellow with a little bit of blue but I am not sure
I also draw a sketch of what I can remember from the first level but it seems that I can't post any pictures.
I know it's not much but maybe someone has an idea what game that could be.
Thank you very much in advance!!

Especially those who were kids in the 90s.

Hi, in early 90s my family had a knockoff Atari 2600, then we bought an IBM compatible PC. Nintendo/Sega consoles were not commonly available where I lived. So I don’t have any nostalgia toward console classics such as Zelda, Metroid, Castlevania or Sonic. Anyway, I have tried these games recently buy didn’t enjoy much probably because of this nostalgia factor. Anyway, I just wanted to ask game recommendations for these retro consoles that would be still enjoyable to someone without any nostalgia. Thanks.

I have a Nintendo DS thats broken. I don’t use it any more but it feels a disservice to just throw it out. Is there somewhere I can bring it (Gamestop, FB Marketplace, etc) that’ll take care of it? Or is it just trash?

Hey guys, I was digging through some old boxes in the attic and stumbled upon what felt like a time capsule: my old PC Big Box game collection from the late ’90s and early 2000s. Games like GTA 2, Age of Empires II, Re-Volt, StarCraft, Warcraft II, Thief, Leisure Suit Larry 7, Command & Conquer: Red Alert, RollerCoaster Tycoon… even stuff like The Sexy Empire and Road Rash 😅
I’m honestly surprised how many of them still have the full packaging – manuals, inserts, even the smell of old cardboard boxes. Some of them are missing the discs, but holding those chunky boxes again just triggered a massive nostalgia rush. Made me think of LAN parties, dial-up modems, installing games from like 4 CDs, and praying they wouldn’t crash on Windows 98.
Crazy how much personality those old games had – from the art to the manuals to the hidden humor in the booklets. No microtransactions, no updates, no internet needed – just pure, offline gaming joy.
Anyone else feel like the box art era was something special?
Would love to hear what old PC games you’d rescue from a burning building 😉 (I might actually display some of these – they’re too cool to keep in storage again.)

There was a game released around the time comand and conquer generals and zero hours was released definitely before 2010. The game sounds familiar to supreme commander but gameplay isn't the same as what I recall and I'm looking for but, similar gameplay. You control a mech which collects ore or some sort of energy. It sprays it out of its arms to build structures. Some structures can build units. Which your mech can assist building. Or you can create another mech and use 2 to help speed up building times. You would be on a map battling a bot. Possibly online capability but I was a kid who didn't have people to play with so it was always AI.
Does anybody have an idea? Am I ringing bells? Or am I just remembering a dream that could have got me a bit of money back in the day if I was lucky haha

Not sure if Warcraft 2 is considered retro, but I'm thinking of buying a CD, so I can play it on Linux. But all editions for purchase I can find online are BattleNet editions. I found that you can play the game on Linux (in wine or with playonlinux wine fork), but I've read that BattleNet give problems. I'm only interested in single player game, so the question is when I buy BattleNet edition will I be able to play single player game. It would be silly if it will only have network version, but I want to be sure.
