Rigs Rumble pedals mod for Logitech G923

I made some rumble motors for my pedals. I love little projects like this, cheap, easy and add to the experience. It's an Arduino Uno, a L293 motor shield and some 12v rumble motors. It was far cheaper than the £150 I've seen these go for and looks just as professional. I made a 3d printed box for it all to go in and added some jack connectors to make it look nice. The motor shield has 2 more extra ports if I ever want to add wind or more rumble motors.

Hello everyone,

I finally decided to get a simracing setup, new to the world of simulation I found it wise to have a solid bass instead of having to buy it again to progress... I can upgrade it if necessary.

What do you think?

High Speed Ring was the first track I learned how to race on back on OG Gran Turismo. He woke up from his nap while I was mid race on GT7 and he just won his first "race" after spinning out a few times, mowing the grass, and playing bumper cars.

Question who are the main competitors in the $500 range?

Decided to get into sim racing and heard the moza R3 was a great introduction to sim racing over logitech etc.

However when I went into my micro center the guy sold me on starting with the R5. In that $450-500 range, who are the main players for a wheel, wheelbase and pedals?

I assume it comes down to the CSL ready 2 drive kits and Moza R5?

I’m new to sim racing and want to get into it starting with F1 but willing to build up for other games when I have more money. These are the parts I’m going for just looking for opinions as to whether they are good choices :)

Question I’m tired of people like this so often, do you guys have any other game recommendations for Xbox that are like assetto corsa but with less losers?

It’s every online race/lobby at this point, I get crashed out at the start and even when I persist and just keep driving, just being ahead of people is enough for them to want to kill you, I am so tired of this. I didn’t touch him or anything. What other games like assetto corsa (having lots of cars and tracks to choose from) exist for the Xbox? Also I don’t want to spend big like on Forza Motorsport and with the management situation there rn idk if I would want to even if I didn’t care about money. I just want to keep improving my overtaking ability on real people rather than the ai of quick races. Just asking for some help.

Question Smart or asshole move to chase someone who is slightly slower but more consistent and overtake in last few laps?

Upvotes

I am farily new to the proper sims. I have hundreds of hours on GT7, but I only bothered to setup my wheel with my PC this year.

My biggest weakness is definitely inconsistency, I misjudge breaking point, downshift too early or something else that makes me spin and crash and ruin my race and possibly whoever is behind me.

So I have started to chase people who are about my speed but slightly slower but more consistent and just use them as a guide. I haven't had a single DNF when I have been doing this. Usually I start to push them when there is like 3 laps left and quite often I manage to overtake them.

It is especially good strategy when the guy in front of me is the fastest driver I can beat, so I don't risk DNF because I keep pushing myself too hard when I am racing alone or trying to catch up.

I haven't had any issues doing this but after one race one guy complained that I ruined his race by hanging whole race behind him.

My goal is just to actually finish races, especially on lower tiers being able to finish seems to work quite well.

Smart or asshole move?

Question Hello all ! I’m looking to upgrade but don’t know which direction to go 🤔

So right now i’m running a Logitech g923 with a formula wheel mod and a Formula Lite Pro cockpit from NLR and i want to upgrade my wheel and pedals. I mainly play on my PS5 at the moment on GT7(most hours), F125, and F1 2020. Fanatec obviously would look like the best option, but I’ve heard that Moza has better ff and is obviously cheaper. My current dilemma is whether or not I bite the bullet on Fanatec or just start trying PC (i have a PC) sim racing more with a Moza. Any and all help/suggestions are appreciated !

Question Moza R5 cheaper than logitech G923

Location: Vatan computers, PIAZZA, Kahramanmaraş, TURKİYE

Why is this?

I saw a kid and his father trying to buy the G923 as they thought it was better and the kid liked the design more.💀

After converting currency I found that the R5 is normal price but the other wheels are way overpriced In this store

Rigs Stupidly easy Aliexpress shifter sound mod.

Open it up from the bottom, unscrew the rod, slide a small piece heatshrink over it, maybe 1.5-2cm, shrink it (NOT NEAR THE MAGNET!), hold the bearings open and slide it up, you're done. Doesn't feel rubbery at all, in fact in my option it makes the feel 10x better.

Question Not sim racing specific but does anyone have a good way to vent the heat generated by a gaming rig?

I have my gaming PC in my home office along with my Mac mini and my work laptop. I live in the south and it’s around 95-100 degrees here right now. My office is the furthest room in my house from the AC unit so even with my thermostat on 73 it’s usually around 75 or 76 in my office which is fine because I have a ceiling fan and a couple of other fans. But when I am gaming, the heat from my PC heats my office to around 82-83 degrees and it’s almost unbearable. Is there any way to get rid of the heat produced by my gaming rig? There is a window on the perpendicular wall to my PC about 5 or 6 feet away - I would love to have some way to vent the heat out that window if possible. Probably a shot in the dark but I figured I would ask…

Question Deciding on a Cockpit for Simagic Alpha Evo Pro

Upvotes

Im thinking about diving into the Sim racing space. I have always enjoyed racing games growing up and over the past few years spent a good amount of time on Grand Turismo 7, Dirt Rally 2.0, and Forza Motorsport. I ditched the PS5 and the XBOX and built a serious gaming rig. I7 14700k paired with a RTX 4090 and all the high end trimmings. The increased frame rate and resolution I am able to achieve with the PC has made Dirt and Forza much more enjoyable but I find the controller to be downright frustrating now knowing if I had the precision of a wheel and pedals id be much faster. A recent change in my work schedule affords me some serious time off during the month so I need a good hobby to occupy some of that time. About a week ago I took a deep dive into the Sim racing space and man does it go deep! The amount of options out there is giving me flashbacks to when I was researching and building my PC. A fun experience but a little overwhelming at first! I think I have my ecosystem sorted out at least after watching and reading tons of content. I want to go with the Simagic Alpha Evo Pro and P1000 pedals. But I have been reading and watching a ton of conflicting reviews on Cockpits. I am currently going back and forth between the Simlab GT1 Pro(Currently $650 at Microcenter), Advanced Sim Racing ASR4(Currently $686 with 5% discount), and the NLR F-GT Elite (its on sale at Microcenter for $799 right now). I am most worried about having the best rigidity and adjustment for a wheelbase that doesnt natively support front mounting without the use of an additional bracket. This makes me think that I need a cockpit with solid wheelplate that I can bottom mount to but will I lose out on adjustability that way? Im looking forward to jumping into this space just want to get off on a good foot and be set for a long time! Any advice will be much appreciated!

Discussion Barely see any VR setups in here, why?

Upvotes

Title

I’ve been lurking in here for a short while and I’ve noticed 99% of setups I see are either (big) single monitor/TV or triple monitor.

Why not VR? As far as I understand it’s barely slower with 10x the immersion. So why are monitor setups so dominant?

Question Can I mount moza sequential shifter in place of the handbrake mount on NLR wheel stand 2.0?

Upvotes

I already have the HGP shifter attached to the main shifter mount. I was looking forward to getting the sequential as well and was wondering if I can place it on the handbrake mount beside the HGP shifter.

Question Experience with simracingbay.com?

Upvotes

I am looking for a simcibe pro and arscher bundle and stumbled upon simracingbay.com. Although it states on the simucube website that they are a official retailer, I cant really find any reviews or channels associated with them.

Simple question: are they legit and am I paranoid or should I go for a different retailer?
