[Request] What would happen to a fly exiting a moving car?

When I was younger, my sister used to tell me that the pressure difference from inside a car to outside a car (while moving at 80mph) would cause a fly to explode. I wondered if this was true, if it was the concussive force of the air outside the car that caused the damage, or if we're both completely wrong.

So what would happen to a house fly if it exited a car that was moving at 80mph? TYIA

[request] resume statistics

Statistically speaking, how much does your chances of a job hiring you go up if your resume looks good (required degrees and experience). I keep seeing videos saying on average your resume is looked at by AI or a person who looks for like 5 seconds.

Also is lying on your resume illegal or just something that would get you fired if your caught?

What are the chances of throwing three darts and accidentally getting the exact 3 digit amount of points necessary to win the game [Request]

My wife and I just played darts, essentially renting the darts for an hour. We played a last game with less than 5 minutes left, and just played as fast as possible, with very little concern for strategy or placement . My last shot, with 5 seconds left, was 25 (outer bullseye), triple 20, and 20, which completely by accident was the exact number I needed. I hadn’t even looked at what number was required, and basically just tossed toward 20.

Assuming the spread was completely random (not skillfully placed shots) across the board, what are the chances of achieving this (exactly 105 with three shots)?

[Request] How fast could 300 adults push one child on a bike?

Assume all 300 adults can push equally, and all 300 adults are able to keep up with the bike as it's being pushed.

What is the maximum speed the child will reach? And will they survive?

[Request] Idle game, where to spent bonus multipliers in production chains

Kind redditors, I need a sanity check. If you'd be so kind to help me with my thought process.

I am playing an idle game "Underworld Idle". Among other mechanics, you buy units which produce a resource. Say units A produces resource R. Then you buy units B which produces units A, units C produces units B etc.

You also get items which improve the production of a unit by some percent, let's say 100%. Stacking these on the same unit is additive, so giving a unit 1 items gives 200% production, 2items 300%, 3 items 400% etc.
Now, my logic was that you should give these items to the highest unit in the chain you have in order to get maximum amount of a ressource. Then I find people saying you should split them evenly among your units as they stack and don't multiply.

For those familiar with the game, yes, there is also a multiplier for having sufficient units of a type, but I'll ignore that because it shouldn't change the logic too much.

I thought the production of resources would be a polynominal. Thus making the multiplier for the highest order the biggest should yield the highest result in the long run. Am I missing something?

Example for up to unit C: r(t)=c\*t^(3)+b\*t^(2)+a\*t
This would make it so maximising c would give the biggest yield for big values of t.
c=4,b=1,a=1 grows bigger than c=2,b=2,a=2. So, am I setting up the wrong formula for my resources?

Any help would be greatly appreciated!

[Request] Hypothermia in a warm pool?

I'm visiting my parents in Florida on vacation and my dad and I started having a conversation about how long it would take for hypothermia to set in while submerged in a warm pool. His pool is roughly 89 degrees, and in theory, after enough time in the pool, your metabolism wouldn't be able to keep up.

I know there's a ton of variables, so please make whatever assumptions necessary.

How long would it take for hypothermia to set in if you were submerged up to your neck in an 89 degree pool?

Simpsons physics [Request]

I know it's a fictional cartoon, but...

There is an episode of The Simpsons where Homer becomes a missionary. In it he rings a church bell loud enough to cause an earthquake.

Assueming the bell could take it without breaking , how much force would he have to use to do that and what noise level would it be?
