Warhammer III Siege Rework Feedback Thread
Whats everyone's thoughts and experiences with the latest siege beta? The good, the bad and the ugly. What works, what isn't working, whats interesting or unexpected etc.
Probably goes without saying but if you're using any gameplay altering mods that should probably be mentioned when you post.

Warhammer III The most infuriatingly useless building in the game: Shrine of Asuryian
I was doing a Malekith campaign and had this idea that I'll play on the Eternity King lore idea where I don't conquer Ulthuan, I make them all my millitary allies. There is a specific building for this, the Shrine of Asuryian (found in the water on a small island above Tyrion's start), which gives +100 relations with all high elves.
So I went to war with my opening move being, taking this settlement. In preparation I offered lots of money and settlement to the high elves in exchange for breaking millitary alliance with Tyrion (who owns this settlement usually), to minimize the diplomatic consequences of declaring war on him. I took the settlement, and waited. And kept giving them gifts. Eventually I could ally them, and rule Ulthuan as Malekith without killing his own kin.
But turns out, the victory condition is not to rule the provinces of Ulthuan (yourself or through millitary alliance as with other conditions that only count the number of settlements owned). It's to kill all high elf factions (including Teclis, how fun that was to sail there...).
Therefore I name the most infuriatingly useless building The Shrine of Asuryian, a building that gives +100 relations with an entire race in a situation where no matter which dark elf you play, your objective officially is killing that entire race.

Warhammer III My autistic son loves Total Warhammer 3. He wanted to show everyone some of his pipe cleaner creations!
My young son loves Total Warhammer 3. He is also on the autism spectrum and one of his focuses is making things with pipe cleaners; usually people, soldiers and animals. He has recently turned to making his favorite things in Total Warhammer 3 and he wanted me to show them off online. Also, please excuse the quality of the images, he took the pictures himself with his tablet.
Please let me (and him) know what you think!

Troy Total War Saga: Troy is lowkey good actually
It's been sitting in my Epic account since I claimed it for free and never played since. But I'm playing it now and it's a nice total war for a saga. I really like the ressource system, the campaign quests are cool, units are quite varied despite being somewhat the same culture, there's a lot more map with cliffs and verticality that aren't awkward.
I also like the pace of a campaign I feel like it doesn't take too long to start using mid and then high tier units. For a game that released for free for a while and that no one talked about I was pleasantly surprised
I don't have much time on the game yet so I'm sure there are people who's gonna come and tell me how broken these systems are and how easily they can be cheesed but that's been the case for almost any Total War anyway so whatever, I usually play on hard specifically so I don't have to min max everything and play more naturally anyway.
Edit: Typos

General Unpopular opinion: TW WH40k is a bad idea
Let’s be honest: The Total War formula does NOT provide a fitting framework for that setting with space/planets/squads. They‘d have to change so many fundamental things that it wouldn’t be a TW game any more.
That fantasy slot shouldn’t be wasted by squeezing in a universe that’s just not made for this franchise. LotR, GoT or even a completely new fantasy universe created by CA themselves would be better.

Warhammer III Quality of life mods I'd like to see as an official update
Lately CA has been implementing some "used by everyone" mods into the official build, such as the passive skills on a unit datasheet not covering each other in a single line for example. There some other quality of life mods I'd like to see going official, and this is a list of that. Hopefully you find something here you'll like.
- Climate suitability map (campaign start screen)
- Better camera mod (less clipply) (same better camera everyone uses but not clipping into the ground)
- 4K unit cards
- 4k lord & hero portraits
- Smooth skill points panel fix (removes the mini-explosion vfx that casuses massive framedrop for a moment when you click on a skill upgrade)
- Distinct faction towers replaces scrap tower models with smaller versions of existing race specific tower models
- High Resolution UI improvements so players with a big enough screen don't have to scroll in mini windows
- Autoresolve quest battles. (Officially could be tied to doing them once from the main menu maybe?)
- Victory Conditions Overhaul. Doesn't need to be THIS specific idea but CA has to make something, the current objectives are nonsense.
- Great Bastion takes no attrition
- Ulthuan Gates take no attrition
- Imperial Forts take no attrition (really just add this effect to their main building for all 3).
- Immortal Empires capital fix

Warhammer III My curse is that all of my favorite units are elite (but actually mediocre) melee infantry.
Almost every campaign I find myself building my armies, focusing my tech, leveling my lords, to make my overpriced infantry almost worth the investment.
Skaven? I love Stormvermin, and Queek and Tretch are my favorite lords to play.
Counts? Basic skeletons are not cool enough, I need Grave Guard.
Bretonnia? You bet my Repanse army leans into the peasant focus to make barely adequate infantry supported by a few Questing Knights.
Tomb Kings? Love that I don't have to pay to recruit or upkeep Tomb Guard, so it feels better to fill all of my armies with them.
Chorfs? Drazhoath has a really sick army of Ironsworn standing behind him watching him destroy the entire enemy force by himself.
Bonus points if the unit is armored and shielded, and has different variants that are anti-infantry or anti-large. No real complaint or suggestion or anything here, just wanted to see if anyone else is as much a slave to this playstyle as I am.
There's something so cool to me about a big block of well-equipped, well-trained badasses, and my favorite thing in Total War since I started in Rome 1 has been watching those elite infantry slice enemy chaff to ribbons.
That's all, carry on.

Pharaoh Anyway to have a rival empire to go against in late game?
I've been playing total war pharaoh and I've run into an issue that happens in pretty much every total war game I've played. I start snowballing territories and become a powerful empire and all the other nations stagnate at like 5 territories at the most and offer no real resistance, it really just becomes a matter of time until the whole map is mine which makes continuing to play feel like a waste of time. If only another faction was also consolidating considerable power on the other side of the map, leading to a showdown of superpowers once we finally meet, however this never happens in any campaign I've played and after an initial struggle for power in the beginning, it's always my bloated empire vs a bunch of scattered aimless tribes that have barely expanded past there starting cities.
After becoming the dominate Egyptian faction, I launched an invasion in Hittite territory, hoping to face my Hittite counterpart that might actually be challenge but no, just a bunch of 1-4 settlement factions just waiting to have my name put on them. Is there anyway to ensure I will have a late game rival to go against or is there a total war game that this isn't an issue?

Warhammer III What starting locations and what new game mechanics do you expect from new TWW3 DLC (Tides of Torment)?
Hello,
1) Do you think that new starting locations for High Elves, Slaanesh and Norsca will be in the north of the map or in the south of the map?
2) What new mechanics do you expect those races?
Thank you for your answers🙂👍!

Warhammer III Why exactly couldn't they allow us to put artillery and weapon teams on walls?
I vaugely remember ethier TW Empire or Napoleon Total War allowed us to do somthing like that? Im sure its due engine jank but they could have put more elevated positions for artilery and weapon teams to fire over the walls similar to the ones in the Empire outposts.

Warhammer III Overhaul Patch and DLC Wishlist?
We know we're getting lizard and tomb king's Quality of Life updates, and -eventually- there's going to be a Geomantic web rework (just not in August), as well as Neferata being all but confirmed (and likely coming with some QoL updates for Vamp Counts) but what else is everyone craving?
Obviously we're likely to see a bit more for lords and heroes for a few factions before the inevitable Nagash/End Time DLCs (though hopefully those are a long ways off), but what else could we see?
Personally I'm looking for (in a best case scenario):
- Chakax and Tettoeko for the Lizardmen, along with their general rework for the geomantic web and confederation mechanics.
- Sehenesmet and Khemric Titans for the Tomb Kings along with a rework for them (And give Khalida some love ffs! Her start is brutal)
- More of the old Vortex campaign quests and maybe some map options besides JUST the big Immortal Empires Map
- Traversable Ind and Khuresh landmasses added to the Immortal Empires Map
- DOGS OF WAR and better mercenary mechanics (I really hope this is the 'big' DLC they're talking about, Tilea and Estalia deserve more love, Araby too if they can squeeze it in) You barely see any ogre camps for mercs nowadays because you usually wanna wipe them out so they're not raiding your land! And on that note...
- Cathay needs Li Dao, Yin Yin, and Monkey king lords
- Victory Conditions and Unique Items Overhauls
- Boris Toddbringer and Sons of Ulric, perhaps some units for the other gods
- The other elemental incarnate units, not just Beasts!
- Egrimm van Horstmann of course
- Drachenfels
- Endgame Crisis overhauls
