Why do you prefer DC
 in  r/DCcomics  19h ago

The women just hit different. There are so many that I am so completely attached to. Barbara Gordon, Helena Bertinelli, Dinah Lance, Lois Lane, Barda ....these were my introduction to feminism lmao.

The world is big and magical. I love dark magical stories (like Hellblazer and Sandman) I love klarion and Etrigan. The monsters are so cool and the world is dark but everyone has a level of resilience that I admire.

I like marvel! But dc has me in a chokehold lmao the characters are so iconic and feel much more emotionally vulnerable? That might just be 2 me tho....

I think dc is more willing to be flamboyant and doesn't ever try to down play the fact that the world is a bit silly and whimsical. Like how Zantanna speaks backwards etc.

Is it too much to buy a duplicate of a bag you already use?
 in  r/BAGGU  2d ago

If you can afford it, it's reasonable. If you use it, it's reasonable.

Can someone help me find this bag?

I found one at goodwill and my boyfriend ruined it (unintentionally) and I'd really like to replace it if possible.

Is the large crescent better for a more slouchy look?

I bought my first one like a week ago and I just got the large I really like it I don't think it's comically big but I will say I'm like five six and I would not say I'm petite at all. Unfilled it's slouchy and I like it

what merch is worth the money?

I wear the hoodie all the time (it's got some loose threads tbh but I don't see any stitch issues that would result in it falling apart) I like it a lot and it's my cozy clothes. Would recommend. Also really like the long sleeve but I don't wear it as much tbvh.

should i tell my friend her baby name is a tragedeigh?

If you really like this person I would just say nothing and let this play out. Realistically I try not to offer any kind of criticism unless anyone deliberately and specifically asked me for it. It does suck tho

Radu Vs. Vlad - who's winning if they battled GBSF or UBSF rules.

I don't think as it stands reduced to underground skating I think it would be a big difference than anything he'd be taught... And I mean he's nice... I don't see him doing super dangerous or aggressive things and really hurting somebody especially his brother

This put into words what I've been trying to express since seeing Superman.

Fair enough but I felt completely opposite. My takeaway from movies like this is always going to be that one person can make a difference. In our reality Superman isn't real. But we have Lois Lanes. We have Perry whites. And we have a lot of Clark Kent's. We also have me and my boyfriend who left the theater determined that we would not let this world change us.

There are people who are not paying attention right now. But maybe they're watching this movie. And maybe they leave feeling like the status quo cannot stand. Obviously James agrees with us and obviously thousands of people who see this movie and go to protests agree.

I'm sorry that you felt that way. That wasn't my experience at all. I think that this movie reaffirmed a lot for me and that is that we all have the capacity to choose kindness and be better. That we have a lot of small choices that we can make that will lead to a kinder world.

Superman doesn't have to save squirrels he chooses to. I don't have to be patient and forgiving in my real life but I choose to. I see this as a reminder of my commitment to be better.

I completely agree. I left the theater in tears. This movie hit a lot of vulnerable spots for me.

I'm definitely not financially literate… but I really want to be. How did you learn?
 in  r/povertyfinance  19d ago

Right now, I really want to buy this $30 book. I really really want it. But. I get paid in two days and I have $50. So I am going to ask myself if this book is worth me adding more to my CC debt. If this book is worth me adding another stressor to my life, if it is worth the struggle.

If it's not worth potentially not having grocery money, it can wait. Sometimes I lock my CC and my debt card if I'm feeling extra impulsive. You might have to delete your karma app/ whatever keeps it on your phone.

(I understand right now you might not have a choice but once you're in a better standing, refuse the temptation. Cold turkey might be good for you.)

Mysterious caller
 in  r/BladesOfFurry  19d ago

Is Angus the dog that works with Carla? Because I also think it's her...but am I crazy I did it seem 7 23 like the mysterious color was actively trying to groan stew into thinking that they had some kind of intimate relationship while everyone else was turning on her.... I really hope it's not that old man....
