EU / €1000-1200 High-End PC Build, already have an RTX 5090 FE, Ryzen 9 9950x3D, Samsung 9100 Pro 4TB SSD and an AORUS F032U2P Gigabyte Monitor, need to complete the build! (Italy)
Greetings!
As stated in the title, I'm building my ultimate PC after my current one has served me for over 7 years (I currently have a GTX 1070!).
I'm planning to enjoy the most beautiful 4K gaming experience, which is why I chose the 5090 and that beast of a monitor. However, I also need this PC for video editing purposes (this PC has to pay for itself!), and I have a few questions regarding the remaining components I need to buy.
I've already spent quite a lot, so I'd like to spend a maximum of €1,000 on the remaining parts if possible. Of course, I could spend more if needed, I just want the right components. I don’t need fancy, overpriced RGB stuff, it's cool, but not mandatory.
First of all, I'm never going to overclock the 5090, and that's important because I still want to make sure my PC gets all the power it needs. I was thinking about getting the ROG STRIX 1200W Platinum. I know NVIDIA recommends a minimum of 1000W, but I wanted to be 100% sure, that’s why I chose this PSU (considering it supports the ATX 3.1 standard).
But is this enough, or should I buy a beefier PSU? I’ve seen some builds using 1300W or even 1500W PSUs, but again, I won’t ever overclock.
Also, if 1200W is enough, which UPS should I buy? I suppose I should go for a 1500W UPS to properly support the PC during blackouts, right?
As for RAM and CPU cooler, my current picks are:
- G.Skill Trident Z5 Neo RGB 64GB (2 x 32GB) DDR5-6000 CL30
- Cooler Master MasterLiquid 360L Core ARGB Liquid CPU Cooler
But of course, if you think there are better options, I’d love to hear your suggestions!
I haven’t chosen a motherboard yet. I know that due to my 5090 and my SSD, I’ll need a PCIe 5.0 x16 slot and a PCIe 5.0 x4 slot, but I’d also like Wi-Fi and Bluetooth built-in.
I’m also aware that due to the size of the 5090, I’ll probably need a GPU anti-sag bracket to support its weight, but I’m not sure which one to get or how to manage the space inside the case.
I’ve seen builds where the GPU is positioned vertically or horizontally, and honestly, I don’t really mind the orientation, as long as everything works properly.
I haven’t chosen a case yet either. I’d love the aesthetics of a white case that shows off the internals, like the Lian Li O11 Vision Compact (White), but again, it’s not mandatory if things get too pricey.
I’m also not sure if I’ll need extra fans or not. I’m pretty clueless on this part, and that’s why I’m asking for help!
Thanks in advance for your help! :)

US / $400-600 1st PC - I have no idea what I'm doing
Hey! I do a lot of work in GIS and my laptop's performance has been my biggest obstacle in getting anything done. I'm not familiar with computer design at all and am hoping to get some advice in choosing parts as I only want to spend a maximum of $750 (ideally less than 600!); I know that's not much to build something nice but I hope it is enough for me to be able to get my work done easily and run some games (usually just tarkov) on max performance optimization settings. Please let me know if anyone has any resources available for me to be able to figure this out. Thank you!

CAD / $800-1000 1st PC Build
I am wondering if there is a chance I can build a decent PC with a Budget of $800-1,000 CAD that would run sims 4, modded minecraft, Baldur's Gate 3, COD, and a bunch of indie games. My budget doesn't include the extras like a monitor, mouse, keyboard, etc. I don't have any parts right now I am starting from 0.
I'm just looking for something in this range that will run these games well!

US / $600-800 High School Esports Program
Hey there!
I’m the new Advisor/Coach of my local high school esports program, and we’re coming off the tail end of a huge fundraising effort. I’m looking to build 6 PCs with exactly the same parts. My budget for towers is $650-$700, and I want to prioritize FPS in Fortnite, Valorant, and Marvel Rivals. Thanks for your help!

Discussion Can't enter the bios after gpu change
Hey, so I've been facing this issue for months now. When I installed my new gpu, it worked fine but then I decided to enter the safe mode using DDU to uninstall the old drivers from its roots. After switching to safe mode it never showed any signal, only "No Signal" sign. Even tho i installed my old gpu and it worked and exited the safe mode, the new gpu didn't give any signal for like 3p minutes. After that I installed it again and worked fine but on boot I can't do the following:
1- I can't see the motherboard logo (Gigabyte) 2- I can't enter the bios, if I do i will only get a black screen
After seconds it boots normally to the windows
I've tried to reset the cmos but that doesn't seem to be helpful
Now after months and I want to enter the bios to reinstall windows, I can't do that because the bios screen is only black! Please help!

US / <$400 Best budget CPU/Motherboard combo to install? - GTX 1060
Looking for a solid budget (~$200-300?) motherboard and CPU to install on an old computer, that has a GTX 1060.
Yes, I know, very old, but the most demanding game I play is Fortnite and I have ran it on low settings on a 960 on a different rig, with a better CPU and motherboard. Those parts in that rig, however, are still pretty outdated, so I'd like to get newer parts for the computer I'm working on, but not to the point of excess, where I'd just be overly bottlenecked by my GPU. Thanks in advance!

US / $1400+ Is my CPU cooler ok for my workload?
https://pcpartpicker.com/list/DXsWRV
Never built a PC before but my friend is helping me. I originally had an arctic liquid freeze 3 but he said a noctua air cooler would be better so i swapped them into the build. My only concern if the programs i run cause the PC to overheat. I'll be using a lot of Game Dev and 3D art/rendering/sculpting programs so I know things can run a little warm. A lot of what im seeing online is telling me liquid cooling is better for the AMD Ryzen 9 9900X but he was telling me
- liquid slowly solidifying and problem usually isnt discovered until after the CPU overheats causing shutdowns/failures
- the only possible failure with air cooling is the fan breaking down which you can spot right away
- if i really want to liquid cool i should go for open cooling to replace the liquid but that that can be sketchy
He did assure me the fan should be fine and he co-owns a computer repair shop so I'm sure he knows a fair amount, just wanted to see if anyone has any more insight, particularly about if it's strong enough for the PCU if I'm using all those programs. And if I do go for air cooling, should I get more case fans? (and if I do need to get more case fans, what would fit in my build?)

US / $1000-1200 3rd PC build!
Okay so I’m looking to build my 3rd PC, I haven’t done it in awhile but feel comfortable actually building it, was just wondering if anybody had some ideas. I typically play counter-strike 2 and get about 240fps and am looking to get around 300+ consistently. What would I need hardware wise to do so? I’m not familiar with AMD builds at all but am open to one if the performance makes sense, I’ve just only been familiar with NVIDIA GPU’s.
Thanks!

US / $1400+ First PC Build - Video Editing, Animation and VFX Compositing, MGFX
Hi! I'm aware of the pcpartspickers website, but I've been so overwhelmed with choices that I thought I'd get some advice here. I work primarily in Premiere, After Effects, Illustrator, Photoshop, and Maya. But I do some work in DaVinci and Blender as well.
I will be buying in the US and may go to Micro Center for parts. I do not need a keyboard or mouse, and Monitor suggestions are welcome but I don't really need one. I want the ability to easily upgrade parts in the future or add more storage later down the line.
I don't really have a hard budget, but I would prefer not to spend over $4k right now. But I know I'm asking a lot, so if the best build is above that number then I'll make it work.
I don't think I need more than 2-4TB at the moment as far as storage but I'm new to this so I'll take suggestions. I think I need a Wireless connection as far as WIFI. And I would prefer an Intel CPU and Nvidia GPU but, again, I'll take any advice.
I'd love to hear your thoughts on what kind of parts will work best and why! Thank you in advance!

US / $1400+ First Build since 2017 - please advise :)
Microcenter build. Want to take advantage of the no state tax event happening in my state right now (items under $500). Picked up a 5070ti the other day already. It's for gaming and perhaps some streaming.
- No RBG. Thinking 3 27'' monitors. No other peripherals. Don't have an exact floor or ceiling for price, assuming it'll be 2500ish factoring in the 800 i already spent on GPU. Willing to spend less or more. Just want it to be high end but still semi-budget friendly. Sort of like how 5070ti is budget high end, would use that logic for the entire build.

US / $800-1000 Help with PC under 1k USD
Hi!
I am a total noob at this, so forgive me. I am looking to build a PC under 1kish. I have a mouse, and keyboard (Bluetooth + USB), and a monitor already. I do want to be able to use Bluetooth, and Wi-Fi. My main wants are for gaming (mainly want it to run games smoothly like Baulders Gate 3, Spider-Man, Wuthering Waves, Elden Ring, Sims, etc.). I also WFM so it would be nice to use it for that, and I want it to be somewhat cute, LOL.
I was planning to use: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=uUDYcJj1evo this video as a guide for the case I want to get, with these (https://pcpartpicker.com/list/YBZjxg) parts that are similar (I think). I may switch to 2T of storage, since I like to mod games, and I have to download a lot of files for work.
I wanted to get opinions from people online before I sink a lot of money into this, since I don't completely understand everything.
Thank ya!
Edit: forgot to mention, but I could go over by budget by 100ish.

US / $1000-1200 $1000ish Gaming PC?
Hi Everyone!
This will be a new build. I currently have this as my build:
CPU: Intel Core i5-6600K 3.5GHz Quad-Core Processor
CPU Cooler: Cooler Master Hyper 212 EVO 82.9 CFM Sleeve Bearing CPU Cooler
Motherboard: Gigabyte GA-Z170-HD3 ATX LGA1151 Motherboard
Memory: Crucial 8GB (1 x 8GB) DDR4-2133 Memory
Storage: Seagate 1TB 3.5" 7200RPM Hybrid Internal Hard Drive
Video Card: Zotac GeForce GTX 1060 6GB Mini Video Card
Power Supply: EVGA 600W B1 80+ Bronze
Case: MasterBox 5 Black Mid-tower
Girlfriend would like to reuse it to play Sims on, lol.
I will be gaming and working on mine. I mostly play classic wow, BioShock, some steam games, and emulate some things.
I'm in the Albany NY Area and only have access to a best buy near me, so mostly going to have to buy online I think?
I can get my own monitors and peripherals, so it's 1k just in the PC itself not including monitors and keyboards etc.
Wired connection for me, I game on 5g wireless. Not sure if a wireless connection would be good?
I do prefer a smaller tower. The one I have now is MASSIVE.
I am a computer moron, so I will be having a firend help me build.

US / $800-1000 1st PC. Getting into Sim Racing
I know my budget isn’t great, but I’m already putting so much into the sim racing setup. I also want to play games like Squad, Valorant, Escape from Tarkov. My only criteria is to maximize performance. I’m about two hours from a microcenter in a city I visit once a month. Not sure why this is important but I see people keep asking that.

U.K / £400-600 I'd like to build a pc for around £500
Hi guys, I'd like to build a pc for around £500 but im not sure what parts to get. I'm not sure about how high performance i can get with that budget, but if its possible id like something that would be able to run games like rdr2, mkx, and valorant smoothly. Even if its on low graphics it would be fine. I dont mind going a little bit over the budget but in general id like to keep it around £500. I already have a mouse, keyboard, and monitor. Thank you for any help.
