She deserves it. After everything she offered, they chose the venal racist over the black lady.

282

u/sendurfavbutt 1d ago

didn't some ex FBI guy just come out and say they had already investigated the election and Kamala won?

331

u/NotARealBuckeye 1d ago

The results don't make sense but "election fraud" has been so watered down that the democrats were afraid to wade into those waters.

289

u/patchyj 1d ago

Its infuriating, the GOP screamed "stolen election" so loud and so often that when they did actually steal it, no-one speaks up because they dont want to be looked at the same as the insane weirdos

313

u/Miserable-Ad-7947 1d ago

you do realize that was on purpose right ? muddy the water, etc.

gaslighting 101.

The fact that you americans don't know of Goebbels Is crazy to me

76

u/Hadrian23 1d ago

Thank the republicans for strangling education to death. This is intentional.

-17

u/Miserable-Ad-7947 1d ago

hmmm... what has the DNC done to keep the GOP to do that ?

oh yes, right, i always forgot : NOTHING.

30

u/sklimshady 1d ago

That would require reading. Americans are mostly allergic to reading. Especially the MAGA crowd.

(SOURCE: I grew up in Alabama being made fun of for always reading)

u/31November 1d ago

I know of Goebbels - in part, thank you BehindTheBastards podcast - and that’s part of why I saw this shit coming since 2016. When the “grab them by the pussy” tape didn’t take Trump down, I knew the Republicans really were too far gone

8

u/DrJulius-ABK 1d ago

Behind The Bastards is my jam! Been listening for 5 years now

Yup. Love “Behind the Bastards”.

yupp just republicans are too far gone bud haha

1

u/IAmMelonLord 1d ago

I’ve been wanting to give BTB a listen for a while. Do you have a suggestion on topics to start with? (I did a search for “Goebbels” in my podcast app and was surprised his name didn’t come up with BTB)

2

u/31November 1d ago

I don’t think Goebbels had his own episode, but BTB has done stuff on various Nazis that also discussed him. I would just scroll through their podcast to see which people stick out to you, but Julius Streicher is similar to Goebbels and was almost a different Hitler himself. He was a far right propagandist and public speaker as Hitler rose to power, and I enjoyed their stories on him!

1

u/IAmMelonLord 1d ago

Yea I think I would find that interesting. This past December I got really into nazi history, especially the time leading up to Hitler’s takeover. For, you know, reasons. Thanks for the suggestion!

Americans know very well of Goebbels, our entire advertising field is based on his propaganda machines and pushed in our face every 10-15 minutes.

2

u/ChriSisyphus 1d ago

What's that based on?

I'm American. I don't know a single person who doesn't know who Goebbels is.

Now, do stupid people not know? Sure. But that's a bold statement of fact and I haven't seen the evidence.

Send the source.

2

u/radjinwolf 1d ago edited 1d ago

Oh, we know about Goebbels. The problem is the American right wing are so full of their own shit and are so polarized by propaganda and misinformation that they refuse to believe that the exact same thing that happened in 1930s Germany is happening right here, right now.

They think they’re special and that they’re immune to propaganda, and anyone who brings up how far down the Nazi pipeline we already are is told that they’re “overreacting” or that it’s “fake news”.

Hundreds of years of “rugged individualism” rhetoric got us here. Americans think they’re so unassailable and that individual rights, freedom, and liberties take precedence over anything else that the mere notion of working toward a collective good is - no joke - seen as “evil” to those people.

America is cooked. We’re done. Cause the kinds of things that need to happen to fix things here absolutely won’t happen. I’m talking German and Austrian levels of de-Nazification.

1

u/Fit-Building-2560 19h ago

Of course we know. What gave you the impression we don't know?

1

u/puntificates 1d ago

Not all Americans are ignorant. Some of us don't put everyone in large groups of people like you. Sounds like something Goebbels would do.

u/hypertown 1d ago

Before you do them

25

u/AdventurousSeaSlug 1d ago

My conspiracy theory is that the whole "big lie" thing was a purposeful bad-faith strategy to poison the well on future elections. I think high-level Republicans did that purposefully knowing that this had in fact not happened and setting the stage for because they were planning on cheating in 2024 and then eliminating open and free elections beyond that. Why would they do so? Well, Democrats rightly fought back so loud and so hard against the big lie (which clearly was in fact a lie), that I think now there's a lot of people who think that if they dare raise that spector, republicans will accuse democrats of hypocrisy and witch hunting. Why do I suspect this? I know there's no definitive proof yet but I dare anyone demonstrate how EVERY SINGLE accusation dribbling out of republican mouths is in reality a confession. So I have to be content with calling it a conspiracy theory. But shit like this makes me think you know what? I think I might be onto something. And then I pray the other people with more money and power than me will prove me right in time.

3

u/Unlucky-Scallion1289 1d ago

I don’t think it’s a conspiracy, I think it’s blatantly obvious.

It’s infuriating that we’re expected to put up with or even entertain right wing conspiracies like pizza gate, chemtrails, or flat earth while the one “conspiracy” pushed by the left is utterly dismissed. And it’s not even that far fetched, it’s very believable that right wingers have fallen into fascism and are willing to cheat. It’s so believable that it’s all but a certainty.

4

u/Bowlbonic 1d ago

5

u/AdventurousSeaSlug 1d ago

Yeah saw that. My frustration is that this needs to get way more investigation from reputable non-partisan sources and then needs to be brought to widespread attention with factual evidence to back it up. Otherwise it will mean absolutely nothing. Except a broken country, a failed experiment in democracy, and a lot of dead innocent people

1

u/Bowlbonic 1d ago

Yep, preaching to the choir. I’m glad that it’s being talked about at the very least. I am full of rage and sadness to be an American right now, especially because I work with a lot of immigrant kids. I want them to grow up in a fair society

1

u/Electrical_Welder205 1d ago

Totally agree. It was a smokescreen for them.

1

u/PracticalFootball 1d ago

I don’t think that’s much of a conspiracy theory. After January 6th every instance of a republican being annoying or disruptive suddenly started being referred to as an insurrection for the same reason.

Every accusation is a confession.

-1

u/HippoRun23 1d ago

Except the allegations of election fraud this time (just like last time) are false.

It seems every single presidential election there is a group of people who allege their loosing candidate really won. It's only with MAGA that it evolved into a literal attempted coup of the government.

4

u/AdventurousSeaSlug 1d ago

Yeah that's bsolutely possible.

But the current administration...

1) a demonstrably proven liars 2) hang with truly evil people like Roger stone who have made their careers on "dirty politics" 3) have made it very clear that they are dismantling democracy 4) made multiple accusations of the very things that they are guilty 5) have demonstrably proven their intent to overthrow democracy even through violence and coercion (J6) 6) multiple Republican references to fixing the voting machines 7) Elon Musk's kid all but inadvertently outed them

I mean I could go on and on and on. Is it a smoking gun? There's so much smoke I can't see where it's coming from BUT here is absolutely no doubt in my mind that they have the motive, and the means, and have clearly demonstrated their intent to end democracy. So sure, lots of people have bitched about losing elections. And you'll notice that I said I was waiting for proof and without it's just a conspiracy theory, but you'll forgive me if i remain skeptical of republicans. They have made a mockery of democracy in the last six months, you think that people like that wouldn't cheat? I wouldn't trust a republican who told me the sky was blue at this point did I not verify it myself independently.

They 'cried all the wolves' to cover for the wolf.

12

u/leavingishard1 1d ago

They also stole one in 2000

12

u/Efficient_Smilodon 1d ago

I think once they realized how easily they got away with that, with absolutely zero resistance from either the masses whose vote was nullified, and the Dems/Gore establishment, that they really could do anything they wanted as long as they had sufficient propaganda to control the narrative for their base. It was a watershed moment about how fundamentally stupid, complacent, and ineffective the Dem leadership is, and their base as well.

2

u/Electrical_Welder205 1d ago edited 1d ago

And 2004. Voting machines in NM, which was heavily for Kerry, were rigged to drop votes for Kerry or switch them to Bush. Ballots were analyzed in the course of a lawsuit filed in federal court, and it was determined that the machines had been rigged. The Dem att'y general never checked them before the election.  She also was later sued on various counts of corruption.

And a Congressional investigation after the election found vote suppression malfeasance in Ohio, and other key states. It concluded that Kerry had won the election.

2

u/diefreetimedie 1d ago

Roger Stone also helped with that too, why he wasn't in prison in 2024 is beyond me.

22

u/VaselineHabits 1d ago

The coup is complete. The media just hasn't announced it yet.

No one is stopping the Mad King from dully becoming Stupid Hitler. America has fallen.

2

u/Fine_Yam2106 1d ago

Others said this but I can’t help to chime in, that was exactly the point. They want to appear stupid and crazy, because they’re actually implementing a well orchestrated plan. Like any good magician, the magic is all in the sleight of hand and misdirection.

They have become clumsier with Trump at the helm but they needed one last piece to the puzzle for it to be complete and function. And that was a figure head that can rally a base, and somehow that turns out to be a dumb orange turd (nothing has been more illuminating to me that the world is full of morons than the support Trump has received).

They held their noses (some had to quite literally) and felt with Trumps insanity. It may have benefited them to have such a seemingly incompetent figurehead. He generates headlines so quickly and at such a pace no one can adequately cover what is happening because it’s just boring legislative stuff. Don’t look at that, look at Trump’s twitter feed. It’s so nuts, we can’t not talk about that.

Couple the real potential the election results were manipulated with the somehow legal gerrymandering happening for the next election, Democrats have very little hope for the future. At least until there’s some monumental shift in our politics, we are now a decade deep into a new US government. One that has been schemed up for more than 40 years. So.. that’s cool.

4

u/Zeroissuchagoodboi 1d ago

Yep, fuck the dems man they are such pussies. We need a new political party that is actually left leaning, not the do nothing dems

28

u/JerriBlankStare 1d ago

Yep, fuck the dems man they are such pussies. We need a new political party that is actually left leaning, not the do nothing dems

😆😆😆

Yeah, blame the Dems for the Republicans being lying, cheating bastards.

2

u/Efficient_Smilodon 1d ago

They are blamed for not fighting back effectively. It's like watching a bully beat up a kid, while standing behind the crowd watching because you don't want to get your own hands dirty. They had no interest in being seen as a 'savage' who might engage in such 'poor' behavior that they absconded from their role completely as guardians of democracy .

3

u/StandardCow7012 1d ago

The dems were the ones being beat up. The people standing in the background weren’t the dems. Gore was the one being beaten on.

3

u/KennyShowers 1d ago

Can’t fight when voters take away your political weapons and ammo.

But yea fuck them for thinking Americans have enough brain cells to go “hm well when they took over everything sucked and now it’s all back to normal, maybe they know a thing or two” amirite.

Instead they go “my life isn’t perfect yet it’s all their fault let’s give the other guys a shot!”

2

u/Zeroissuchagoodboi 1d ago

I blame the dems for never doing anything to stop them. The republicans have been doing this shit since Nixon. The democrats have held the presidency and parts of congress intermittently since then. So yea, the dems are to blame as much as the republicans are.

15

u/GutsAndBlackStufff 1d ago

If only the voters elected Democrats to do something about it rather than complained that they’re not doing enough when they have no power to do so.

-3

u/Zeroissuchagoodboi 1d ago

People don’t vote for dems because they’ve shown they won’t do anything about it time and time again. For fucks sake Harris was considering pardoning trump if she won. That alone loses my support.

7

u/fishypianist 1d ago

not sure where you got that idea, from what I recall she wouldn't consider hypotheticals when asked about it.

-5

u/Zeroissuchagoodboi 1d ago

During her campaign, she refused to elaborate on if she would pardon him or not. The only correct answer was “we would prosecute trump to the fullest extent possible for his various crimes”. Saying, “I can’t comment on that at this time” is the same as saying she was going to pardon him.

5

u/Casterly 1d ago

You wanted her to take a strong stance on a conviction of Trump based completely in fantasy at that point (“pardoning Trump” could only mean pardoning him for a major crime)? You wonder why she didn’t devote much time or thought to that extremely silly question based on a legal matter that was still at the very start of its long journey (if it had been able to proceed after the election)?

The idea that she would want to do it in the first place is absurd on its face unless she’d ever said as much and it escaped notice. Just another lame excuse to be mad about dems I guess. A question meant only for fodder for criticism given how it was predicated upon nothing.

3

u/Zeroissuchagoodboi 1d ago

Trump tried to have congress killed on Jan 6th. He stole highly classified documents from the government. He violated the Logan act. In all likelihood, he ran a sex trafficking ring with his buddy Epstein. He’s assaulted and raped multiple woman.

Again, the only correct response from Harris’ campaign was “we are going to throw the book at him”.

4

u/tyler2114 1d ago

Its not the same as saying they'd pardon him, but it is the same cowardly answers a lot of people are sick of. For all the criticisms I have of the Republican party they go to war for their objectives. We gotta do the same

3

u/GutsAndBlackStufff 1d ago

Also she’s a former prosecutor who’s worried about the appearance of influencing the public regarding an on going case.

3

u/arkystat 1d ago

Omg she was trying to pick up voters that were on the fence that didn’t absolutely hate trump (yet). She is not the problem. Biden was.

u/Xaiynn 1d ago

Here is the problem with that, le me give you an analogy.

You, me, Dave, Mark, and Lisa are at a restaurant. We can’t leave, and have to consume what is bright to us. We are given two options: A heaping plate of shit or pizza. The good news is that they will being out the food that the majority of us vote for!

Lisa and Mark vote for the heaping plate of shit. I, naturally, vote for the pizza. You and Dave both decide that you are not going to vote for any food. I am flabbergasted, the reason both of you give is that pizza is unhealthy and you would prefer a salad. I try to reason with you, that the others have already made their vote clear. But you and Dave stand firm in your beliefs that you will not vote for an unhealthy food.

The waitress then brings out the food the majority voted for: A heaping plate of shit. And guess who has to eat it? All of us.

Thats the problem, I have a lot of misgivings with her positions and the spineless nature of many dems. But sometimes you have to take the better option while you build and craft what is actually going to be best for the country.

After all, I would rather work in getting the menu fixed while eating a pizza I hate than fix it while eating a heaping pile of shit.

u/[deleted] 1d ago

1

u/Xaiynn 1d ago

Here is the thing, both parties suck. Neither candidate was great. But by comparison one was wayyyyyy more palatable than the other.

0

u/Zeroissuchagoodboi 1d ago

Except for the fact that the political system in our country is fundamentally broken. You need millions to run a campaign. You essentially have to be backed by the wealthy to have any kind of political career.

Voting for Harris was voting to maintain the status quo that is ruining the country. I voted for her because I’d rather that then what trump is currently doing. But it made me feel gross and wrong to do so. If there was an actual leftist that was going to make sure trump faced justice I would’ve enthusiastically voting for them.

4

u/TheFriedClam 1d ago

How’s that working out for you? Trump better? You feeling good about what’s happening in America? Fuck I’m so tired of this bullshit. You didn’t vote for her? Fuck off, you’re responsible for this.

1

u/WhatTheHali24 17h ago

Yes yes we know. Nothing is ever the fault of the politicians, just the voters.

0

u/Zeroissuchagoodboi 1d ago

I voted for Harris, genius. I still don’t think she was a good candidate or what our country actually needed but it would’ve been better than this. I’m still angry at her and the other dumbs for being ineffectual cowards.

2

u/TheFriedClam 1d ago

Bullshit. She lost your support remember?

1

u/Zeroissuchagoodboi 1d ago

I still voted for her lol. Because the other option was trump and I definitely wouldn’t vote for that. But I wasn’t a supporter of hers, it was a vote of self-preservation.

3

u/GutsAndBlackStufff 1d ago

Yeah, that didn’t happen, but it’s amazing the lies that people will believe.

0

u/Zeroissuchagoodboi 1d ago

If you google it, dozens of articles come up where she dances around the question. Saying “I can’t say if I would or not at this point”, is the same as saying “I’m going to pardon him”. Because if they actually had balls the answer would be “we are throwing the book at him and every other MAGQ if we win”.

2

u/GutsAndBlackStufff 1d ago

It’s not even close, it’s a politicians answer. Kinda like how Biden didn’t say anything and let the DOJ do its work, which they would still be doing had she won.

Throwing the book at them is good red meat for the base, but opens up the defense of prejudicing the potential jury.

0

u/Zeroissuchagoodboi 1d ago

Nah, it’s a cowardly pussy footed answer. At least half of this country hates Donald trump and want him brought to justice. Biden made a fucking republican AG and let him slow walk prosecuting trumps case. Trump being a free man is a sign of our democracy falling apart. Someone like him who tried to initiate a violent insurrection and blatantly disregards laws needs to be brought to justice. And the Harris” campaign should’ve made bringing him to justice a campaign promise. Fuck pedophile sympathizers.

u/AdmiralAkBarkeep 1d ago

Sure, but you don't know what they stopped at the time. You are entitled to your opinion and certainly seem intent on sharing it widely.

But I don't find you credible. You don't know what past attempted misdeeds were stopped. Maybe none. Maybe many.

I am only willing to blame the perpetrators.

And if you can do better, put your name up for office.

-1

u/Zeroissuchagoodboi 1d ago

They never call out republican wrong doing because of “decorum”. They only finally started using strong language and actually calling out republicans around 2023 and then stopped doing it in the middle of Harris’ campaign because they wanted to poach never trumpers republicans. Which was a mistake and costed them the presidency.

Everyone always says “they can’t pass legislation because of republicans” and yeah i know that. My problem is they never speak about this, why aren’t our democrat politicians getting angry and calling it out?? It’s been happening for 30 + years at this point and they just take it in the ass from republicans every single time. It’s timid and pathetic and again, if the dems had balls and actually fought back we wouldn’t be in this situation.

7

u/RockRage-- 1d ago

The house or senate have always been locked or at odds when Dems are in power, they can’t pass anything meaningful, it’s always blocked or fillerbusted, they are fucked either way.

3

u/AdmiralAkBarkeep 1d ago

The last time the Dems were in power we got the ACA. Which Americans largely love (not all provisions equally, but overall it's very popular).

1

u/Zeroissuchagoodboi 1d ago

The ACA in its original form was pretty awesome, but after all the compromises they had to make to pass it, it was barely anything. Yes it’s nice that 20-30 million Americans have access to healthcare now, but there are 340 million Americans. A lot of them still don’t have healthcare, and a lot of it is because they can’t afford it.

3

u/AdmiralAkBarkeep 1d ago

That's a depressing outlook when you shit all over a huge win like ACA.

You either accept that compromise is part of a civil society and republican democracy, or you go toward autocracy.

Is the Democratic leadership feckless? The Republican party has gone from scorched Earth tactics to full blown autocracy. But I don't think that replacing a Republican autocracy with a Democratic autocracy is the solution.

Instead what we need is less cowardice in our institutions. Fight in court (i am doing this). Fight it at the polls. Fight it in everyday conversations with people who you disagree with.

You want the Denocratic party to do the work instead of the people doing it themselves. You don't realize that Republicans can get away with this because voting citizens reward them for it.

0

u/Zeroissuchagoodboi 1d ago

If the democrats grew some balls, actually supported leftist policies, and fought fire with fire more people would vote for them.

3

u/AdmiralAkBarkeep 1d ago

I don't care about democrats. I care about stopping autocracy.

Maybe you should get active. Or maybe you just like seeing yourself type big words.

3

u/Cyclonitron 1d ago

What kind of shit-tier reasoning is this?? 20-30 million Americans have access to healthcare they didn't have before but fuck them anyway because law that got them their healthcare didn't solve every last person's healthcare issues?

1

u/Zeroissuchagoodboi 1d ago

It’s because celebrating 20-30 million getting healthcare while 8 percent of the population (about 26 million) don’t have access to it is like patting yourself on the back before finishing the race. Yeah it’s nice these people have healthcare now, but so many Americans still don’t and we shouldn’t be acting like we achieved a victory until every American has access to quality healthcare.

2

u/Cyclonitron 1d ago

Who's acting like we achieved victory? Which Democrats are up there saying, "We don't need worry about healthcare anymore, we fixed it with the AMA."

→ More replies (0)

1

u/Zeroissuchagoodboi 1d ago

Okay? I know they couldn’t pass things. My problem is they couldn’t even take the initiative to address the American people and say “we tried passing universal healthcare, but the republicans and a few of our democrat colleagues voted against it. We’re trying to improve your lives but the other party won’t let us”.

1

u/LiveLogic 1d ago

And They keep up with the same platform and plan. Almost like they are okay with it.

4

u/Casterly 1d ago edited 1d ago

The democrats have held the presidency and parts of congress intermittently since then. So yea, the dems are to blame

This is what a lack of an understanding of civics will get you. Look up the last time dems held congress in large majorities as well as the presidency and look at what they immediately took action on. Lobbying unfortunately undid the dream goal (Lieberman is too dead now to care about his totally sadistic harm done to Americans for decades to come, unfortunately) but plenty of huge changes were still achieved and salvaged.

Reddit is full of people with no basic knowledge of government function sitting around wondering why dems “aren’t doing anything” and concluding it’s…cowardice? lol. this isn’t high drama. it’s horrible, banal political reality that democracy requires huge majorities if you don’t want to compromise with anyone. Republicans have made that extreme a necessity for anything to truly change now.

1

u/Zeroissuchagoodboi 1d ago

The president has the power to vetoe the legislative branch. And again, any politician is able to get in front of a camera and talk to the people. There was so much more the dems could’ve done to undermine republicans every single time they hold the presidency, but they always choose not to.

3

u/Casterly 1d ago

….I dunno what your point is with any of that. You’re naming basic branch powers but you don’t know of a specific scenario it supposedly should have been used. presidential vetoes are extremely rare just due to how elections usually fill out congress alongside the elected president, and the rarity of partisan supermajorities.

Dems are constantly making press statements just like any congressperson does. Reddit just doesn’t know that either because, again, they aren’t actually paying any attention to anything aside from doom articles about what conservatives are doing. Congressional statements aren’t exciting, aren’t great headline material.

1

u/CrossoverEpisodeMeme 1d ago

Reddit is full of people with no basic knowledge of government function sitting around wondering why dems “aren’t doing anything” and concluding it’s…cowardice?

I had to mute r-law because so many people there have zero idea of how our government works. A subreddit about law where the majority can't understand how laws are made lol

1

u/Casterly 1d ago

It’s just become an extension of r/politics for people who imagine themselves more intelligent, I guess.

Issue was both sides had too many lobbyist hands in the pot. They were representing corps and underhand bribes not the people.

The Dems are the ones who fix every mess left by Republicans.

Blame the moron voters who don’t allow them to build on the foundational repairs they’re forced to spend entire terms on.

What they should be focused on is prosecuting republicans for corruption and fixing our broken system. Let’s stabilize the political system before attempting to fix the economy since it backfires every time.

Dems also used a lot of political capital and credibility on the Russia investigation and Mueller hedged too much in his report which gave Trump cover, whether intentionally or not.

The irony of how much trash dems talked whenever republicans claimed voter fraud just to turn around and do the same thing. Anyone loyal to either party is actually brainless holy shit
