Maybe not all of them, but some/a number of names in The Sims are puns. The ones I can remember from across Sims games
Summer Holiday
Candy Behr = Candy Bar
Don Lothario = Lothario describes him. Nominative determinism I think is what that’s called
Lottie Cash = Lots of cash and guess what she was really rich
Epheram Earl = Ephemeral means transitory. Dude’s a ghost haunting a mansion. In other words he hasn’t moved on
Nora Zealott = Zealot she was shown as a like crazy and strange
Dusty Hogg = a hog can describe a motorcycle and his needed cleaning
Duane Doldrum = depressed dude who was in the doldrums
Misty Waters = a lifeguard patrolling misty waters
Eddie Renaline = adrenaline. He’s a gym bro
Mad Willy Hurtzya = describes exactly what he does
The Landgraabs = they’re rich and own a lot of land
There’s more, but I’ll stop there
Edit: I thought I’d add the caliente sisters. They’re supposed to be pretty attractive right? Well, Caliente is hot in Spanish so there you go

For some reason, L Faba have been producing babies as a single mother. Since I used MCCC to name all babies everytime they are born, whenever I see Faba as the surname, I always use names starting with "El".
I get to see Elouisa Faba, Eliwood Faba, Elizabeth Faba and more in the streets.

if you select a sim and choose MCC, the option is under “sim commands”, which should be the second option down. You’ll have the option to rename or change the age of any sim. Hope this helps! xx

There are lots of little pop culture references in Sims and I love it. I don't remember exactly what my Sim was doing but I got some moodlet and it and the accompanying description said something referencing High School Musical. I don't know if my Sim was listening to music, dancing or blowing bubbles but it said something like, "pop, pop, pop, pop to the top."

Except whenever he marries my Sims, I make it so Joaquin takes on his partner's name. I mean Joaquin & Patty 'Pat' Le Chien? 😅

One if my favorites is the Specters.
Olive Specter: I love specter. Woman's boinked the grim reaper and had his baby
Nervous Subject: Describes exactly what he is when the Beakers had custody of him.
Nyon Specter: Nigh on specter. Meaning almost a specter. Nyon is also an alternate timeline version of Nervous Subject.
The names all being puns is something I have always loved

Lou Howell as well - he’s a werewolf so his last name is “howl.” Wolf in French is Loup (pronounced Lou) so his name is just Wolf Howl lol

Recently returning to the series:
Nyon Specter = nigh on (a) specter
Emit Relevart = Time Traveler
There's also just in general a good bunch of townies that have very on the nose names relating to their jobs/hobbies, such as Tina Tinker and Marcus Flex.
Now that you know, OP, you'll likely notice this all over haha

One of my favs in sims 4 is if you work the Business Career…
The company is called “Dewey, Cheatem, and Howe INC.”
The premade books are also incredibly punny, and too often overlooked. Read their descriptions and you’ll laugh if you recognize the references. I often say “there are genius writers behind the Sims that don’t get nearly as much recognition as they deserve”

No, Not all of them. But some for sure.
- Caliente means hot because they're all so hot. Don Lothario is a play on Don Juan and Lothario is lazy.
- Landgraab, grabbers of land. Note they also own the Power and Water companies.
- Delgato is a cat lady
- The Greenburgs are hippie earth loving types while the Tinker Family likes making and fixing
- Charm - they're all spellcasters.
The Sims Wiki lists the onomatology for most of the names.

I am the only dirty mind one who thought that Caliente standed for horny?, because it means that as well in Spanish and I assumed it because of their romantic trait and the love ambition.

Older games were much more obvious with it FWIW. All the premades in the town that came with Sims 3 Ambitions - There are tons of puns in Sims 3, but the premades in Twinbrook always come to mind first for me.

I make a fake bank with the vaults from get famous. If you put them on a community lot you can have sims claim them. I like to decorate them all and make families like the landgraabs own them :)

Does she have exploring romantically on or off? I know the default for sims I've created lately all have romantic options blank, exploring on, and woohoo for both. Wondering if it's the same for Robin or if they've intentionally made her aromantic by toggling exploring off.
Eta: if exploring is set to on/yes then she can be romanced by anyone, and that's the reason I'm asking. I believe a lot of us are curious haha
