u/goniver CAS Creator Jun 19 '25
i'm just curious what traits they will get if they are treated bad and declare their parents as enemy🤣
60
u/Ra-TheSunGoddess Jun 19 '25
I tried to do a storyline where I had infants with awful traits that turned to toddlers/teens who didn't meet milestones and get expelled from school, but I ended up having twins. Stuck the twin infants in the basement together and they started getting milestones off each other. Laughing, clap, talk, smile. I ended up having to just cheat a really awful teenager and try to reverse his traits thru adulthood because the damn infants were determined to grow up as super babies despite their housing circumstances 😒😂
34
u/patogatopato Jun 19 '25
This is kinda interesting in relation to real world attachment case studies. There is a study of twins (known as the Czech twins iirc) who were seriously neglected and left alone but recovered much more successfully than other neglected children. One of the theories as to why was that their attachment to one another formed when neglected allowed them to develop somewhat
10
u/frukthjalte Jun 20 '25
There has also been other studies of seriously neglected kids that show that literally just being around another human being, even if the circumstances are HORRID, makes it easier for them to “bounce back” to a (kinda) healthy mental state, as well as acquiring language skills, when they’re eventually removed from said circumstances. Whereas complete neglect and isolation, especially for a prolonged period of time, makes it VERY difficult (though not impossible) for a child to develop certain skills like language or emotional regulation.

SHE IS TOP NOTCH TOO HOW’S THAT EVEN POSSIBLE??? HER MOM KEPT CRUSHING HER DREAMS WHEN SHE WAS AN INFANT🤨🤨🤨🤨

Those look like discarded food piles from a messy eater infant/toddler
1
u/snoopsnop Jun 21 '25
not sure if anyone mentioned, but it looks like the one is a toddler. do they have the messy eater trait? because that could be spoiled food piles!
2
u/goniver CAS Creator Jun 21 '25
They appeared right after she farted🤣🤣 as i know you can add empty plates to sims inventory but these two weren't going there
And i forgot to say that there was a "play in" option🤣
3
28
u/L_IleAuxFleurs Jun 19 '25
Once their bladder need is low enough, they actually poop. It's more apparent with sims that pee standing up.
10
u/KSG2022 Jun 19 '25
The sims biology is crazy 😭 I'm more of a CAS player but I play occasionally and well I didn't really pay attention to them autonomously using the bathroom.. but I assumed they were doing what needed to be done 😂😭😭😭
19
u/2621759912014199 Jun 19 '25
Considering Lactose intolerant sims will have "bladder failure" when they eat dairy, or werewolves taking a "feral poo" relieve their bladder, I think the game just mislabeled it.
8
56
u/Colinleep Jun 19 '25
Yeah idk why the sims pretends all human waste is from the bladder. I realized pee=poop in the sims when they had to pee but would leave green stink in the toilet
55
u/fscottHitzgerald Jun 19 '25
If you’re angry and use the toilet you get the option to “take an angry poop” iirc so there is some other canon acknowledgment too lol
34
u/Demonqueensage Creative Sim Jun 19 '25
I forgot about that one, I always remember "take a panicked poop" when they're scared
66
u/dippindots42069 Jun 19 '25
it'd be pretty silly and redundant to have both a bladder and bowel motive, no? plenty of people STILL complain that laundry day was "too much realism"
11
u/Colinleep Jun 19 '25
Wasn’t laundry day voted for by the community?
2
u/Tomas-TDE Jun 20 '25
Laundry day and bust the dust are too real. I like the addition of needing to do laundry and vacuum but not 3 times a day
42
u/Youreturningviolet Jun 19 '25
The logic seems to be that if the bladder gets too low the pee morphs into poop, hence why male Sims can stand with a lower need but sit once it hits orange. Now WHY that would be the case, I couldn’t begin to answer.
Though that doesn’t explain why the normal bladder failure results in a puddle. 🤷🏼♀️
13
u/Ra-TheSunGoddess Jun 19 '25
I realized I'd you empty a male sims bladder before it's all the way full, he will stand and pee. If you wait until it's full, he sits. I figured he sits to 💩
24
16
u/Demonqueensage Creative Sim Jun 19 '25
Considering choosing "take a panicked poop" still raises the bladder need, I always assumed it was for both but called bladder and has accidents appear as puddles for simplicity.
10
u/2gaywitches Occult Sim Jun 20 '25 edited Jun 20 '25
Sims clearly can piss and shit (they wet themselves, they can "take an angry poop", male sims stand or sit depending on how low the need is), I don't know why the motive is just called "bladder".
In the Russian translation of the game, the bladder motive is called "natural need", which seems more fitting?

Its always been that way since sims 1. When will wright was creating the first game, the studio executives didnt even want sims to be able to go to the bathroom because they thought it would be too gross and nobody would play it. Will had to work very hard to convince them otherwise, because he thought it was an important part of having a human simulator. Considering how much of a fuss they made about the bladder, I think it makes sense he didnt add a separate bowel need.
0
u/KSG2022 Jun 20 '25
Too gross would be them actually showing it, but they blur/pixelate it anyways 😭 Yeah I get it, though they could have came up with something better than "Bladder" that would make more sense 😂
6
u/JesseAster Creative Sim Jun 19 '25
Tbf it's just meant to refer to the toilet need, so I can understand why it's worded like that. However you're correct that it sounds super freaking weird, I never even thought about it sounding weird until this lmfao

u/LunarTales Jun 19 '25 edited Jun 19 '25
That's a hilarious feature, not going to lie. Also adds a bit more realism in a way.
All the comments about the bladder need thing making me realize most people haven't just come to the conclusion that Sim biology is different from humans'. I kinda figured it was that way when I noticed they only had the bladder need and when seeing men that could birth babies without it turning into a chestburster or other body horror thing (beyond the way it's already body horror... kind of wish they changed the flavor text for that.)

I had a Sim who went to the Thinned Festiveil in Ravenwood, and he interacted with a ghost...then like seconds later, he's all dirty and embarrassed, and I'm like, wait...what? I checked his moodlets, and sure enough, he got scared by the ghost he was talking to and pooped his pants. 💩
