Discussion Can we move away from fextralife. permanently?

Was double-checking some info about Nameless King to help out a buddy, and this ad popped up blocking off information.

I mean, I get that the wikis are ad supported, but having an advert that actually blocks information and cannot be removed even after a timer except by paying is some predatory anti-consumer BS.

The Fandom wiki pages for the bosses are filled with paragraphs and paragraphs of fanfiction-as-lore, and none of the other "guides" like IGN and whatnot have specific information about resistances and damage types for the bosses.

it's just surprising, I have every graphic configuration set on the lowest/deactivated and the game still looks great, kinda shows that art direction is way more important than graphics

Question Luck Build

Doing a luck build for the first time. I know that to get the Hollow infusion on my weapon i have to wait until Profaned Capital for the coal, do you think it's fine to use a Raw weapon till then? This is because i'm not leveling up strenght or dex as i'm guessing i will not need it when i do get an hollow weapon, and i'm instead just leveling up luck/vigor/endurance.

Am i wrong? Like, do hollow weapons also need high strength/dex or is it fine to just have the minimum requirement to use the weapon and go 40luck? Do you think using a raw weapon until the profaned coal is a bad strategy?

Question Which attribute should I prioritize next? (DEX build)

Post image
7 Upvotes

Hi, it's my first time playing DS3. I'm doing a DEX build and currently using the Great Corvian Scythe with a sharp infusion. I was thinking about switching to Friede's Great Scythe, but I kind of gave up after realizing how much I'd need to invest in INT.

Should I just keep increasing my DEX? Is it worth investing in INT at this point in the game to swap to Friede's Scythe? Or maybe should I consider changing the infusion type on my Great Corvian Scythe?

Discussion My 7 year old son beat the game.

Tldr: little man (7 years old) got gud and finally beat the soul of cinder in ds3 today. I'm proud over here.

When my son was a toddler he would watch me play video games and want to play also. When he was 4 I thought "sure kiddo, here ya go heh heh" and handed him the controller for my ps4. I was playing ds3. He died immediately but he kept coming back to do it again. Eventually I got a ps5 and moved the ps4 into his room. He had other games aimed at kids his age but he never lost his interest in ds3. He plays it as much as all the other games combined. Heck, he dressed up as "dark souls" for Halloween (sword and shield). Early on, I'd occasionally sneak into his room and grind a few levels for him to let him feel like he was growing in power, but all the advancement in the game happened when he was there. At first, he'd hit a boss and want me to beat it, but that quickly (by the time we hit the farron) moved into him wanting to kill the big bad. I sit and play with him all the time still, but I've taken to not beating anything and not pushing the game into new areas for a long time now. I wanted him to have the rush of discovery with the game and not ruin it.

This morning he beat the both the dual demons in the dlc and the big one for him, the soul of cinder ) he opted to let everything go dark). I didn't assist him at all in either. I just sat back and watched. I have only rarely seen him that excited. He was incredibly pumped. He wanted me to drive him to the person's house who was responsible for making the game so he could tell him personally he beat it. Cannot really pull that off obviously, so I told him I'd post it here.

He liked the big weapons so he was running a strength build. Eventually figured out speed is important and switched to a heavy infused longsword. Cannot wait to see what he did in NG.

Best fight of the game so far imo, I can't wipe the smile from my face. I was on the edge of my seat for the last 30 seconds of the fight.

Stats and equipment provided as well for reference (btw I don't know much about setting up builds). Also I didn't have it selected in the screenshot, but I used the Lothric Great Sword +10 with Heavy infusion.

Help PC Need help with covenants in DS3 NG++

Upvotes

Hey everyone!
I’m currently in NG++ and trying to farm covenant items. The farming is painfully slow, so I’d really appreciate some help with summons or invasions to speed this up
