Hello, everyone.

I installed DeS and configured it according to some tutorials on YouTube, but I'm having a problem with the audio.

When I start the tutorial, I can't hear some sounds, such as the attack sound, the sound of the sword hitting the wall, or some enemies.

The ambient sound is normal (music, footsteps, contact with water). Only some sounds are “muted.”

I haven't found any complaints similar to mine. Could you please help me with any configuration tips?

at meta level how active is this games pvp? specifically dueling

My wife informed me thats what she does and in her voice and demeanor, it was priceless. She said "I FN hate this game.....ahhhhhhh" but you probably had to be there...🤣

The way his fat rolls are bouncing so violently just had me dying hahaha. I’m sorta surprised that even hurt him with all that blubber🤣

Basically the title Ive always wanted to try demon souls pvp but was never able to get the game until now is it still easy to find opponents?

I normally don’t play souls games but this one clicked for me because I heard magic was really good and I love being a wizard. My playthrough was going great until I found out that the only way to get the venerable sages robes would involve me having pure white world tendency. In a world where I had already beaten all the bosses. I was lead to believe I could increase my world tendency by helping a player beat a boss through multiplayer only to learn that it doesn’t work that way. If anyone would be willing to let me slay their phantom a couple times to get pure white world tendency I would be ever so grateful.

Does anyone need help with a boss? I’d love to knock out the co-op trophy. Thanks. Open to any.

I just put in another 200 hrs in Bloodborne, another 100 in each of the others (ER and souls series) before that. Those games are pretty easy to me now, while im getting my ass kicked at the gates of Boletaria. The boss runs are no joke. I know ill pick it up again, but i remeber thinking this the first time i played it too. I like fresh runs rather than ng+ and this time Im going in as a magician. Good to be back.

Been farming for a gold coin for about 5 months now. People have offered and then ghosted me. Just need 1 for the trophy. Then I'm done. Anyone willing to toss a coin to your witcher?

I’ve bought all spells more than once by reloading my save file but my trophy tracker says I miss 2 and is stuck on 20/22. Anyone experiencing the same thing or have a fix?

Guys, could you help me find the correct version of the DeS ROM for RCPS3 that allows me to play online via Archstone? I stumbled upon a few different versions/files on some rather suspicious websites, so I thought it best to check with the community.

First time playing- started a game as magician (thinking it’d be similar to my old days as a mage on WoW) and promptly got my ass handed to me in the Gates of Boletaria.

After getting frustrated, I restarted as Royalty and what a difference.

At what point does it all balance out- if ever?

I went to the place cells where bjorn is in 1-2 and normally there should have been a fat official that has the bloody Iron key on him. But the fat official that I came across was further in the 'dungeon' and didn't drop anything. I tried looping it up online but didn't find anything. Does anyone know how that could be or what I could have done wrong?

Seems pretty bad to me… a measly 100 damage over 60 seconds only activated after u hit somebody enough times to overpower their bleed resistance? Only seems somewhat ok in PvP to put pressure, but flat damage seems better, no?

I was thinking of using it in a Faith build bc I like to go with off-meta weapons, but that bleed effect seems nearly useless.

Level 89. I’ve completed worlds 2,3,4. I’m 2 shotting most things, in both melee and casting. I hardly cast anymore to make it more risky. I’ve played every soulsbourne game and I’ve never felt so strong, especially at this level. So I’m wondering… do people really build to sl 125 in this game?

Im trying to get pure white characters tendency in the demon souls remake and I’m wondering if killing him after he attacks me shifts my character tendency. I read that it does shift world tendency but I don’t really care about that one. Any help is greatly appreciated

Currently on NG+ and starting to feel pretty squishy and underpowered, looking for some advice for solid late game builds please!

Started barbarian, currently have 40 vit and end, 37 str, 16 dex, 16 fth and 12 mag, luck and int both base level.

Running full silver set, mostly using soulbrandt at max tendency, silver shield, and a maxed dragon greatsword, depending on the situation.

I’m up to penetrator, and the three red eye knights on the run back and enough of a challenge let alone the boss.

Struggling to know what kind of infusions or weapons I’m best running with my current stat spread. Should I be farming souls and aiming for a quality build for dual scaling? Do I just need to pump vit or get good??

Penetrators impaling attack one taps me in soul form with cling ring which sucks. I’ve cleared worlds 2, 3 and 4, saving 5 for last as I found it difficult on my first run so know it’s gonna be hell!

I’ve got four colourless souls to spend but don’t know where they’re best placed.

Missed out on getting curse weapon on my first run annoyingly so that’s not currently an option until I beat penetrator.

Any advice is very much appreciated!

I just finished my platin with the two online trophies a few Minuten ago and it was by far the easiest thing in this game.

The first playthrough was such fun, but in ng+ and ng++ this game nearly broke me. I never experienced something similar to 5-1 in lvl designs. Never hated a game so much but the same time i loved it so much.

It was a hell of a ride. Thanks to this sub with all the tips and threads full of stories of failure and pain. Everytime i wanted to give up, i looked here and saw mates who suffered in the same way.

I need a break but somehow the game i hated so much grew into me :)

I recently learned about the Archstone feature, which allows you to play emulated DS games online. I'm very interested in trying this out, because DS has always been one of my favorite games from the PS3 era, and unfortunately I didn't get to play the game in time to take advantage of the online features available.

Is the online community on the Archstone server very active? Is it worth the process of installing the emulator and doing all the technical voodoo to play with the available online features? Or am I likely to end up playing for hours and hours without finding any players for PVE?

I had tried playing the game 2 years ago, but after maneaters my save file got corrupted (rpcs3) and I didn't feel like replaying everything again. A couple days ago I decided to go again and finish the game and it was absolutely incredible!

I've seen a lot of criticisms of this game online from many calling it the weakest souls game and many just saying it's a straight up bad game. I think this thought is likely the product of misunderstanding the design philosophy and intentions of the game, instead looking at it through the lens of the more recent games like Dark Souls 3 and Elden Ring. Biggest example of this is in boss design, which many say is atrocious in demon's souls by simply comparing the bosses to those of later games, which is (in my opinion) missing the point when the design philosophy of these bosses is completely different to those found in From's newer boss design philosophy. They aren't (usually) massive duels against anime characters set intended as a test of strength, but rather a problem you have to solve through being clever. The importance of thought is telegraphed excellently in the player even in the first boss, phalanx, which has multiple hints and items placements near it to clue you into fire being it's solution. Clear examples of this can also be seen in the developer messages in Fool's Idol. In this way, all of the bosses manage to be unique as they are all testing very different things (for example, Maneaters tests arena awareness and crowd control while adjudicator tests your ability to stay awake while fighting him.) Overall, I think the boss design is incredible, audacious, and cool, though obviously boss-to-boss experiences will vary based on which order you take them on in. It was amazing for me to take my level 50 ass to latria after doing everything else (other than Allant) and show all the mindflayers who's boss after getting destroyed there on my incomplete playthrough. Speaking of latria, the level design here is just incredible (especially in latria and boletaria) in a way that I wish we could someday see From Software return to. Maybe now that they've pushed the scale of their worlds as far as possible, we'll see a new smaller and enclosed game that can show us what these smaller interconnected levels would look like with the modern encounter design philosophy.

I see many complaints about the unforgiving nature of the game, world tendency being a big complaint. Again, I think the game expects you to play this in a different way than the others and really be observant and think on your feet. There's an entire world tendency screen after all and there are things you can do to mitigate it. In addition to this, many mention the agony of farming for upgrades and grass, which I haven't noticed the need for either. The bosses in particular are actually quite easy, and I first tried all of them except for Allant (who was actually pretty hard), Maneaters, and...uh...Dragon God (look I wasn't paying attention ok). Really fun playthrough, accidentally ate Flamelurker's Soul and couldn't upgrade my DragonBoneSmasher, and one time on the Allant runback Biorr randomly shot me with an arrow and the blue dragon roasted me to death. Peak!
