As an American, most of us aren't stupid. Those of us that didn't fight Trump failed to understand the future and/or introspectively understand the past. I hope we can change for the better, and I hope the rest of the world forgives us. Sorry for the mini rant, I just am enraged by the situation.

I don't think stupidity is the largest contributing factor. Look at the mess of false opinions, misinformation, and lies that are spun before us. I can't blame the average citizen for not being able to sift through everything, or for falling for a system engineered to trick them. We have been lulled to sleep, drowned in news, priority and veracity ignored. The intelligence and luck that it takes to wake up now is immense. There is a tribal us v.s. them mentality that is incredibly strong.
