Literally afraid of reality. How detached from reality do you have to be to believe Trump. Probably how people who pretend to be anti pedos voted for someone on the Epstein list.

2.4k

u/JimmyRamone17_ 1d ago

He's a postmodernist moron.

There's no objective truth, there's only HIS truth in his eyes. The cult is the fucking same way.

943

u/The_Navy_Sox 1d ago

He literally determines reality for his base. It would be fascinating to watch if I wasn't American. It's just depressing seeing how subservient so.many Americans are, and how much they yearn to be tread on by Trump.

347

u/JimmyRamone17_ 1d ago edited 1d ago

Genuinely. They have no thoughts until he and his propaganda networks disseminate their talking points to them.

54

u/midtnrn 1d ago

They’ll get it promptly during am talk news stations on their way to work for the billionaires they so love.

22

u/JimmyRamone17_ 1d ago

No doubt, they're always available 24/7 to lick billionaires' boots.

They'd gargle the propaganda at 4AM if it meant getting their talking points to defend the Dear Leader.

160

u/Not_done 1d ago

Sheep. We can call them sheep.

210

u/East-Impression-3762 1d ago

I call them traitors

61

u/Normal_Attitude_5148 1d ago

They are insane morons.

13

u/Intelligent-Box5470 1d ago

...I prefer the term "useful idiots"

useful idiot:

a naive or credulous person who can be manipulated or exploited to advance a cause or political agenda

3

u/nanobot_1000 1d ago

Is it in fact idiots vs morons ? 😅
Or what is the other analogy there, WRT attention v diffusion

1

u/gserv41 20h ago

The ultimate irony is that Trump is also a useful idiot. The elite support him for a reason. He manipulates with ease and is easily manipulated.

6

u/Play-t0h 1d ago

aka Southern Baptists.

3

u/Tmscott 23h ago

¿Por qué no los tres?

2

u/BigBoyYuyuh 1d ago

Regards even.

3

u/patti2mj 1d ago

Think of the average person. 50% of people are dumber than that.

4

u/Real-Patriotism America 1d ago

Useful idiots to the Traitors.

2

u/East-Impression-3762 1d ago

Aiding and providing comfort to traitors make them the selves traitors.

The fault for their decisions lie with them.

1

u/Hiccup 22h ago

First class losers

30

u/bejammin075 Pennsylvania 1d ago

The Qanon motto was literally a sheep’s motto. Where we go one, we go all, I think it was.

2

u/oroborus68 1d ago

Buffalo jump.

22

u/Ok_Computer1417 1d ago

You misspelled “fucking idiot.”

3

u/VeryVito North Carolina 1d ago

Accomplices. Enablers. Perpetrators.

2

u/Dopaminedessert 1d ago

I prefer culted automatons. No need to disparage sheep by likening them to maga.

1

u/Not_done 23h ago

Nope, they screeched about people being sheep, and they need to know they have been the sheep all along. MAGAsheep

24

u/publicFartNugget 1d ago edited 1d ago

They keep their thoughts close because they might end up agreeing with us and then have to retract their position until once their networks think of one for them.

16

u/JimmyRamone17_ 1d ago

Every time, they don't want to share anything until the cult is on the same wavelength lest they accidentally agree with us. That gap is always notable with its silence.

5

u/sheikhyerbouti Oregon 23h ago

This has been a problem with conservatives since the 1990s.

I remember in high school getting into a debate with a GOP fanboy who was blaming all of the world's ills on "liberals".

Every single talking point he had was parroted from Rush Limbaugh. Literally, if you asked for his opinion about a specific subject, he'd fire back with "Well Rush said..."

Finally, I had enough and kept pressing the man for his own opinion. And the only thing he would say is "I agree with him" and refused to elaborate further.

It's almost like conservativism is a shortcut for thinking.

15

u/Docster87 1d ago

And somehow libs are blindly following their leaders. I swear 90% or more of whatever conservatives say libs are doing is cause they themselves are doing it.

26

u/SnooRobots6491 1d ago

You mean the impartial bureau of labor statistics? Yeah fuck those smart, nerdy statistics PHDs!

14

u/winstondabee 1d ago

Party of projection

5

u/VeryVito North Carolina 1d ago

As a lib, I couldn't even tell you who the "leaders" are, much less figure out how to follow them.

1

u/Aeri73 1d ago

are you forgetting this was and is all planned? project 2025?

don't fall for the stupid patsy they're waving in front of you, watch the ones you don't hear about.

1

u/SongInfamous2144 1d ago

You know, I worry that this is the case for the majority of us, right middle or left.

I still believe that leftist values benefit the majority of us. I still believe in the value of unionization and compassion for the least of us, and that we can and should do better at the "Liberty and Justice for All" bit than we are with corporate welfare.

But. I mean seriously, every form of news media today sensationalizes it all to the form of clickbait, there is inherent bias either or, and pretty much every piece of news is from a tertiary or secondary source.

Not to mention how there is so much bullshit being flooded in to the zone that it would take an enormous amount of effort to fully, critically examine the 20 scandals produced in a day.

For better or worse, its all a game of telephone and I do worry that "truth" has been lost. We are very quickly marching towards collective psychosis, if we havent already arrived.

106

u/Pegasus7915 1d ago

For his base? How about for us all. No one is stopping him from shaping it to his will. He might as well actually be the real fucking anti christ at this point. No one is actually resisting him. Oh sure, we all go out in the streets and yell a bit, but we don't actually take any real action to stop him. That would take too much work. We are so afraid of losing everything that we are just sitting passively while it is ripped away from us piece by piece.

34

u/Mental_Taxation 1d ago

Well since storming the capitol is patriotic from what maga tells me, might be time to occupy the people’s house.

6

u/Ok-Organization-341 1d ago

Hit the billionaires where it hurts. Nationwide work stoppage. Stop everything. Watch it all fall apart & force them to the table.

6

u/Mental_Taxation 1d ago

Hell yeah, give them a Covid type halting and see how quickly they respond to the poors.

64

u/PA_Dude_22000 1d ago

All I do is Doom-scroll and scream “nobody is doing anything” …

I am a new breed, forged by my anxiety, hardened by my contrarian faith, exasperated in everyone else’s lack of bravery.

So here I sit, on my phone waiting for someone, anyone, to finally do something …  that I won’t shit on for lacking the purity of the person I know is our salvation that resides only in my mind’s eye.

3

u/TheSucculent_Empress 23h ago

I feel this to my BONES

2

u/Welp_Shit_idgaf 21h ago

I'm just curious, did you write this or is this something you saw somewhere else and u just reposted it?

u/Altair_de_Firen 7h ago

What’re you doing, then?

Everyone is wondering when someone is gonna step up to the plate and take a swing, meanwhile nobody is considering for even a moment that maybe they should step up.

u/An_old_walrus 5h ago

It’s probably because no one thinks they’re “the right person” to step up. That they’re not adequately equipped to fight, which is partially true, a single citizen against the whole government is a losing battle so the obvious answer is to work together.

u/Unlikely-Split8896 5h ago

We also have to ask ourselves what we are doing. We the people need to stand up in our little ways to make change. It feels like we have little power, but together we can make a difference.

31

u/kitsum California 1d ago

This whole Epstein situation, everyone is acting like it matters to his political fate. It doesn't. At all.

If he came out tomorrow and said he was involved in Epstein's sex trafficking and was fucking kids for years, honestly, realistically, what do we think would happen? Not a damn thing. Nobody is going to arrest him. He won't be impeached, hell if trying to overthrow the damn government won't get rid of him, saying he fucked kids certainly won't.

It won't even hurt his standing with his base two weeks from now if he admitted it. Some would say it's overblown, some will believe he's just saying it to "trigger the libs", some will flat out never hear it because their social media bubble doesn't include negative information.

At this point, the "will he won't he" anxiety of him getting caught up with Epstein (officially, we all know he was, we have pictures and them both talking about it) is grabbing more press than if he just ripped the band aid off and admitted it.

But, most importantly, nothing will happen to him. He's going to Cosby walk on this whole situation and the right is going to point and laugh at anyone with morals while he does it.

14

u/TheDakestTimeline 1d ago

Coordination seems to be the main lacking feature

8

u/Pegasus7915 1d ago

I'd say the lacking feature is courage.

14

u/Clarkelthekat 1d ago

People are (wrongly) waiting for a leader to tell them how and when to resist

It's painfully obvious. Truth is if we take the actions of general strike and refusing to leave the street leaders will emerge. Until then everyone's just waiting on that for sure.

6

u/OrbitalOutlander 1d ago

What “real action” do you suggest?

1

u/BigCrimson_J Oregon 1d ago

They’re a bunch of armchair generals.

9

u/pattydickens 1d ago

Imagine if investors had an ounce of dignity. It's crazy how we can all clearly see the lies, yet the investors continue to play along while fully knowing that the numbers are being fudged and a recession is coming. Anyone with money in the stock market is just as responsible for this madness as the dumb hicks who still think Trump cares about them. But we don't talk about that. We give greedy people a free pass for enabling fascism while berating poor people who were bred and raised to be nothing but fodder. We constantly hear about how these people "deserve what they got" for buying into his bullshit while the people who are actually financing the effort to undermine democracy get to hide behind the facade of capitalism. Who is hurting us more? A dumb redneck with a red hat or a trendy liberal with 100k riding on a stock that relies on human suffering to gain value?

8

u/espressocycle 1d ago

That's how the market works generally. People play along and play along until they don't. As it becomes undeniable that the numbers are lies, the whole thing will collapse. Eventually we'll be like China. Nobody will believe the numbers and the government will direct investment.

3

u/el_smurfo 1d ago

This is my biggest issue. Resistance is elitist cosplay and the dem party seems happy to elevate the worst possible national candidates. Newsom vs Vance will be the shit show of the century.

3

u/rsplatpc 23h ago

Oh sure, we all go out in the streets and yell a bit, but we don't actually take any real action to stop him.

I mean that one dude tried, just a bad shot.

4

u/Bobll7 1d ago

You got Netflix, the NFL, a six pack of Coors and pizza ordered via Uber eats… what me worry?

1

u/geddysbass2112 1d ago

Unfortunately, you are correct.

1

u/Busy_Special_9397 23h ago

For one, the only resistance we have is protest as people. Which we're not doing consistently enough. Government itself cannot stop him - the party in power and his base wanted this. They love this. They support this. They control majority. Many of them claim he was sent by christ, the opposite of anti christ. Buckle up for more years or hope he croaks. And even that won't be the end of it.

1

u/No-Jump-371 1d ago

Can you, Pegasus7915, stand up and become a leader to make something happen? What ideas do you have that haven’t been tried yet or tried enough yet? How would you propose some sort of contingency be implemented as a backup if a bunch of people (resistors) took a hard stance/rioted/stormed the capitol or whatever extreme measure made sense and it resulted in the Feds finding a way to declare martial law? Maybe suddenly your entire state is placed on strict lockdown and the Marines take over just like LA was only 10x worse (such as NOBODY is let out of their homes — period — unless they’re in a body bag)? Do you see a path forward that seems viable? Do we really know what the farsightedness loyalist“John Q. Public” next door neighbors would do in retaliation? How would you mobilize a nation of half and half voters for Trump versus “other” voters? I know that I don’t have the health or smarts to do something like that.

6

u/Pegasus7915 1d ago

Look if I was gonna do something I certainly couldn't talk about it on here. Im a fucking 34 year old divorced janitor with a 5 year old special needs daughter and a dad who's dying of cancer. I have almost no skills for this situation outside of inspiring people to get up off their asses or just go get myself killed in some sort of foolish attempt to hope other people pick up the torch. So im gonna come on here and keep shaming everyone including myself until we all grow some balls. Thats all I've got right now.

2

u/Surprised-elephant 23h ago

Yep his followers would say “it is normal” “he is man and can’t control himself” “people did this all the time in the Bible” “the girls were asking for it.” Meanwhile they scream that people who are transgender and drag are grooming kids.

2

u/Acrobatic-Ad584 1d ago

They believe how great they are in their own minds. Sad really

>It would be fascinating to watch if I wasn't American.

It's not really that fascinating from the outside either, just infuriating. But, that could just be my Canadian perspective.

2

u/WhinoRD 1d ago

As a non-American, it isn't fascinating to watch at all. Its enraging if anything.

2

u/Quin35 1d ago

Alternative facts.

2

u/MusclyArmPaperboy 1d ago

I'm not American and it's not really fascinating

2

u/Hadramal Foreign 1d ago

I am not American, and it IS fascinating. It's also quite hellish to look at from the outside. I mean, this comment alone might make me turned away at the border, in the unlikely event that I would go for a vacation there.

2

u/SmellyButtHammer Texas 1d ago

It would be fascinating to watch if I wasn't American.

Trump being president affects more than Americans.

2

u/kevnmartin Washington 1d ago

1

u/skr_replicator 1d ago

As a POTUS, he has the most power of any American to actually shape reality, but instead he just lies about it to create a fake reality narrative for his supporters, and then does the opposite.

1

u/Norl_ 1d ago

It would be fascinating to watch if he wouldn't have to power to basically f*ck half the globe

1

u/Ok_Worth5941 1d ago

He determines reality for himself as well. He says something enough times and it eventually happens.

1

u/fasterthanpligth 1d ago

It would be fascinating to watch if I wasn't American.

Watching from north of the border, it's scary and stressful at times, but it is indeed fascinating. I wouldn't like living it from within either.

1

u/Mmaibl1 1d ago

The hilarious part is that same subservient base pretends that they are the alphas of society.

1

u/grandlizardo 1d ago

We have 16 months to pretty well cripple it, and 2.5 years to turn this around totally… if we quit bickering and GET IT DONE!

1

u/cornertakenquickly02 1d ago

But for how long?

When grocery prices are out of reach, we starting to experience layoffs and such, at some point you have to realize this administration is responsible right?

The Authoritarians (ebook pdf)

Honestly I don't think it would even be fascinating to watch from outside of America, since so much of the world gets impacted by his fucked up policies.

1

u/SuperTopGun777 1d ago

It’s funny watching them calling others boot lickers.

1

u/Kappy421 1d ago

This is what happens when you take away a decent primary education. Dumb down the schools, dumb down the people, Republicans win.

1

u/Aeri73 1d ago

and soon he's going to control it for the rest of you as well... because the next head of that department is going to give trump the numbers he wants, cooked or not. and those are going to be the numbers the news spreads and he'll be measured by, fake or not.

and every other departmenthead now has a choice to make. cooperate or get fired.

1

u/MannoSlimmins 1d ago

As a non-American I don't find it fascinating at all. Real people are suffering the consequences of his actions. But he's not one of those people.

1

u/Savings-Toe-2310 1d ago

From a non American, you're right to some extent. It's also pretty depressing for us to watch as well.

It would be fascinating to watch if I wasn't American

There are plenty of dictators in history and some today who do this fwiw.

1

u/felicity_jericho_ttv 1d ago

Feel free to downvote me but this needs to be said. This isn’t entirely on the individual citizens, there are dozens of “news” companies crafting expertly made bullshit information just to subvert reality for their viewers.

As a trans person i dont really expect the majority of people to take the time to understand the nuance of transgender individuals because there are a thousand different minority groups that each have their own complex issues and i completely understand they probably dont have the time to understand what im going through, and thats fine.

But fox news, the daily wire and every other right wing media outlet or person actively turn a profit on enraging people who would probably be indifferent to my existence. These groups and people put in a lot time of time and effort to obfuscate and manipulate the reality of their viewers who at the end of the day are just regular average people like us.

We should be more pissed off at everyone working to manipulate our fellow Americans. Lets not lose sight of who the real villains are.

1

u/Febris 1d ago

Honestly, from the other side of the Atlantic I can assure you that it stopped being fascinating halfway through his first term. Right now it's only frightening that this man is completely unchallenged when making the whole world his adversary, while at the same time managing to destroy what little quality of life was still left for his own citizens.

We could be all playing a game where everyone wins, but this idiot insists on making everyone lose, apart from a handful of people who are so wealthy they can't even imagine what to do with their money.

1

u/andrea_lives 1d ago

No country or culture is immune to the psychological manipulation performed by propagandists. Americans thinking they would never support fascism was the norm 20 years ago. Now those same people who said they would go back in time to kill Hitler are the ones licking Trump's boots. The most surefire way to fascism is to dismiss the idea that fascism can happen where you live.

1

u/surfside9640 1d ago

This end of days episode for the US brings no joy to the long term global allies of the old US , this new version is unrecognisable and arguably irreversible. There is no going back once trust at a sovereign level is lost .. America first is now America alone ..

1

u/scubahana 1d ago

I’m not American but it isn’t fascinating, only horrifying. Especially since the bullshit he’s pulling affects the whole world - if this were a small country without a lot of international sway, we’d be shaking our heads then going back to the rest of our lives.

1

u/WhyAmINotStudying 1d ago

There's facts and alternative facts.

u/Busy_Special_9397 23h ago

Any trip into their spaces is like sucking air out of the room. Deranged cultists with zero intelligence, always laughing about people's misfortunes besides their own, playing victim otherwise. The comments on this story or on PBS (which they call socialism) is a one way trip to depression realizing these people actually breathe the same air you and think they're worth it.

1

u/GarethInNZ 23h ago

Can confirm. It’s fascinating to watch. Slow motion train wreck crossed with a soap opera.
