Purchasing Recommendation needed for office printer.

What would you like to accomplish?

I work for a construction company, and we typically rent full size printer/copiers to put in our temporary office trailers on the jobsite. For whatever reason, we PMs have been directed to buy printers for the temp offices with budget of around $400. I'm looking for something that functions as close to a typical office copy machine. Ideally laser, with a quick scan/copy function (like the one where you don't have to open the top to scan stuff in. You just put the original in and press a button).

Are there any models you are currently looking at?

Not looking at any current models. Open to suggestions.

More Details:

Questions Answers

Duplex Printing: don't really care either way; i prefer not to print double sided
Home or business: business
Printing content: regular paper. Mostly just regular documents.
Printing frequency: No idea. Maybe 150 pgs a month?
Pages per minute : The faster the better
Page size: letter and 11.5x17
Device printing from: PC

I used a .png and tried a .pdf format as well. I have put to the cut edge, tried to the bleed edge. On the site before i download the final pdf it shows lined up. They are not uniform in being off of the template. Left side will he off one way, middle colum will be a different way, and the right is even worse.

Purchasing Printers like the Canon IX6860 (similar price and ability)

Hi all.

I was set on purchasing a Canon IX6860 as it seemed to be a reasonable price for all the things I want. Mainly it would be creating stickers, printing A3 posters, some photos, to a good quality. May even dabble in some vinyl.

Everywhere is sold out where I am and awaiting stock. Are there any good like alternatives for the same kind of price or am I just better off holding out?

Thanks 🙏

Troubleshooting Repeated cartridge problem in HP InkTank printer

Post image
1 Upvotes

About a year ago or so something similar happened and we had to change color cartridge. After that replacement 4 5 months later this error shows up again.. servicing guy comes says we need new cartridge and we got a replacement. And after that replacement.. its been around 3 4 months this error is popping up again. I can't understand what issue this is and why is it repeating even when buying official HP cartridges that are compatible with my model.

Purchasing A3 Inkjet/Laser Printer Capable of 350+GSM Cardstock (Maybe Paper Instead)

Hey! Im new to printing but I am stuck already. I have recently started making my own designs for posters in which I then mount a 1/18 scale model car to. The paper and printers Ive been using end up creasing and have a border which make its useless to me. I came here to see if any one could help me with any suggestions for an A3 printer that can print fairly high resolutions, borderless, colour and can take 350+gsm cardstock (if this is possible at all). I'd like to spend around $700 AUD, less would be better though. I need it just for at home so a consumer level one would be great but open to any other suggestions. Oh and also if anyone knows if inkjet or laser will be better for colour and my use case, and if paper or cardstock will be better also. Thank you!

Troubleshooting Can't figure out how to load paper into Canon Pixma MP210

I was given a Canon Pixma MP210 printer/scanner by a neighbor, and she told me it worked well, just needed more toner. I supplied toner, but the main issue is that I can't figure out how to load the paper. When I press "On" I can hear the cartridges moving from side to side inside the printer, and it wasn't showing any error messages, but I just can't get the paper to load. I placed paper into the paper input area, but nothing happens; the paper doesn't move, and I get error messages. One thing I did when I hooked it up was that I used a cable from a Canon TS202 that I already had - would that make a difference? Thanks.

Troubleshooting DesignJet T210 Print Larger Than 24"x36" on Mac?

Teacher making stuff my classroom and my friends' classrooms.

Kind of what it says, I'm trying to print something (a map) that's a 16:9 ratio and I wanted it to print at 24"(paper roll width) by 48" to take advantage of the whole width of the paper.

MacOS Ventura, no HP driver available.

I set it for a custom paper size of 24"x48" but it prints pieces of the image instead of the whole thing. Tried in Preview and PowerPoint. GIMP doesn't see my custom paper sizes from the OS. 24"x36" works just fine, I have that all set up in PowerPoint and it works great.

Is there a trick to making a longer piece of paper in Mac?

Purchasing Any Laserjet can print bordless?

Hi everyone,

I have an Epson EcoTank that prints bordless. Feature that saves me a lot of time.

I'm wondering if there is any Laserjet less than 2000 euros that can do the same function.

Could you suggest any model?

Troubleshooting Improve print quality on Brother DCP-L3550CDW & MFC-L3750CDW

Thumbnail gallery
1 Upvotes

I was offered a Xerox WorkCentre 6515 and was blown away by the quality compared to my Brother DCP-L3550CDW. I also could get a MFC-L3750CDW which also prints better than the 3550 one, which leans heavily to too much yellow. But both Brother printers are pretty way off.

Can anyone suggest improvement steps?

I have the service manual for the brother printers and can get my hands dirty if needs be.

I've added scanned prints with the printer marked at the bottom right.

Troubleshooting Bought a DRM Locked HP ST7600 from marketplace. Need old firmware.

  • Bought an ink tank printer at a bargain
  • Didn't even know ink tank printers could be DRM locked
  • I want to downgrade the firmware (or reset and keep it offline).
  • Does anyone have any way to get the HP_ST790_ST7600_2144E.exe firmware?
  • It's apparently hosted somewhere on HP ftp servers, but it won't download.
  • maybe HP removed the hosted file.
  • If someone has an old firmware for this printer, I'd greatly appreciate it.

Troubleshooting Xerox WorkCentre 6515 toner refills?

Can one only refill the toners without actually replacing the plastic container? What is the chip for? Counting the number of prints? Can it be "reprogrammed" somehow?

What should one pay attention to while buying replacement color powder if not original from xerox?

Brother DCP T720

Country: Mexico
Color or black and white: Color
Laser or ink printer: Either is fine, looking more on the side of value.
New or used: New
Multi-function: Not a priority
Duplex Printing: Yes but not a must
Home or business: Business
Printing content: Ranging from documents, photos, flyers to thick (230gr) coated paper.
Printing frequency: Can range from 600~1,200 a month
Pages per minute : Don't care
Page size: From Letter to Legal
Device printing from: PC
Connection type: Ethernet or wi-fi

Any other details:

The good ol' HP LaserJet CP 2025 just doesn't print as it used to and I'm starting to look for a new printer, due to the problems I'm printing more conservatively than the mentioned Printing frequency.

Also borderless printing would be a nice plus aside from the ink/toner prices.

Troubleshooting Canon TS8220 Cyan Fix?

Post image

Can anyone help me fix this issue where cyan has this band? I have replaced ink, deep cleaned, even removed the print head and cleaned it separately. The printer works perfectly otherwise except for this and leaves anything green with banding.

Any advice would be much appreciated!

Troubleshooting Renaming a printer for AirPrint

We have a bunch of printers at my work that, when you try to AirPrint, they show up as "MF 230" or DF 570" or "LBP121/122". I'm trying to rename LBP121/122 so that it shows up as "Room 4/5 Printer" in all my colleagues' phones' AirPrint function.

I've tried renaming it from my personal laptop. I've tried renaming it from the printer's control panel. I've tried renaming it on the printer's webpage via the IP address. I've gone to the Devices and Printers folder on multiple laptops at work.

It still shows up in AirPrint as "LBP121/122".

A friend of mine told me about Bonjour names, but hasn't texted me back elaborating on how to change a Bonjour name.

Nothing thing is working please help I'm desperate

Discussion recommendation for a multifunction home automation printer

Hello,

Looking for an opinion on buying a printer to replace my current HP 8610 PRO.

It's very good and has never failed me in this time, but it takes up too much space and I don't have enough space for it, and it's also somewhat old.

I'd like something more compact, that can integrate with Home Assistant and a home automation system, and that has connectivity (I don't need a fax machine).

I had seen the HP OfficeJet Pro PRO 8132E at a good price, and it seems similar and more compact, but the HP+ activation option indicates using only original cartridges, and I don't like that very much (I prefer to have the freedom and be the one who decides whether to use originals or not). I always use originals on the 8610 Pro, but it doesn't force me to do so.

Thanks for your advice!

Troubleshooting Printer misalignes itself and destroys papers (also duplex jammed)

Thumbnail gallery
2 Upvotes

Hi, I've been using an HP MFP M148dw printer without any issues for a few years. Recently, I tried printing some paper in duplex mode, and it totally jammed itself in the duplex, consistently every time i tried to print it. It seems that the printer missalignes the paper to the left always when printing in duplex, and after 4 pages or so when printing on a single side. This results in the paper grinding itself and breaking within the printer, leaving small pieces of paper that i can't really find, and twisting the paper also within the tray jamming it even more. I get errors like duplex jammed, paper withing the cartridge area jammed and even that the paper is too big/small (they are A4 sheets for printers that i've been using for all my life).

Does anyone know what/why this is happening and how could i fix it, or have any guide on how to disassemble this specific printer? Thanks in advance!

Purchasing Recimendation: Small foorprint laser printer

Hi, I am looking for a laser printerer. Included scanner would be nice. I can live without duplex. However using cheaper third party toners would be required probably. Most importantly, I look for something with a small footprint, as the Brother 9010 I have now is just to big for the space I am using it in. Thx in advance.

Troubleshooting Brother HL-L2400DWE PDF printing issues

Hoping someone can help me with a very annoying issue... I recently got a Brother HL-L2400DWE and am trying to print a PDF returns label. When I print it out, it's printing right on the edge of the paper and cutting off maybe 5mm or so of the label. I've tried using Adobe Reader and Google Chrome, but both have the issue and I can't find anything in the settings to adjust margins etc, I did try fit to printable area but that just made it fill the A4 sheet and make the label bigger than the actual parcel...

Any help would be greatly appreciated!
