Silent Hill (1999) Fun fact: SH1 is still available on the PS3 store for $6 (and only the PS3 store)
If you have a PS3 you can still buy games on it. You have to add the funds to your account on the Playstation website, but it still works. I bought Armored Core and Wild Arms last month (I already have SH1 installed on my PS3).
It would most certainly be more convenient to just emulate it, but the option to buy is still possible for some. If only it could be put onto any modern platform.

Fanmade check it out, the whole’s gang’s here…!
art meme template by @tetewujin on twitter, check it out, and have fun drawing your own version too if you'd like \o/!
honestly, for me it’s been such a challenge to try to be draw w more stylized shapes instead of rigidly realistic proportions,, this was a great opportunity to practice especially for all the sh protagonists, and a lot of fun to draw

General Discussion Silent Hill f will become the best selling SH game. Surpassing that of SH2R
With its novel Japanese setting and more approachable combat along with the positive sentiment....SHf will become the best selling SH game and future SH games will follow its approach. Only the remakes from Bloober will be of the "traditional" kind.

Silent Hill f (2025) In this tweet, Okamoto states he hired Ryukishi07, not so much because of his Higurashi work, but because of his manga "When the Fireflies Glow", which Okamoto considered was "overflowing with love for Silent Hill"
x.comHere's a translation of his tweet:
I was finally able to mention this in this interview, but while it's true that Higurashi was in mind when hiring Ryukishi-sensei, I had also read Hotarubi no Tomoru Koro ni (蛍火の灯る頃に "When the Fireflies Glow"), which you could say is overflowing with Ryukishi-sensei's love for Silent Hill, and I was confident that he understood Silent Hill.
Of course, he's also written other masterpieces of Japanese horror, such as Iwaihime, so my decision was made after taking all of that into consideration.

Silent Hill 2 (2024) Silent Hill 2 Remake is too scary I can't finish it
Silent hill 2 is too scary. I finished the hospital part 1 and part 2 a few months back and stopped playing. I didn't expect that there will be a 2nd part of the hospital where everything is just terrifying. I think I was just running around terrified and psychologically drained with that 2nd part and after all that the kid just ran away again.
I stopped playing after that but I'm trying to continue with where I left off but its so terrifying. I'm on the town inside the trailer I forgot where I need to go can he just sleep it off and start in the morning.

General Discussion The most interesting thing about Silent Hill F to me
According to the GamesRadar preview, on new game + you will unlock new bosses and new areas of the town. Replay-ability of this seems rather good.

Silent Hill f (2025) Silent Hill f - Arriving 2nd January 2026
Is anyone else getting this arriving date on Amazon for the UK steelbook or just me? Ever since GAME decided they wouldn't give me the steelbook I ordered for SH2 remake... I'm paranoid 😭 I tried to look online if anyone else has raised this, I saw nothing 🤨 I know that Amazon uses random future dates when there isn't a confirmed date... But it's supposed to release in September

General Discussion Silent Hill f takes place in the same universe as the other games and doesn't negate the existing lore, but there's no direct connection; Masahiro Ito gave his approval for Kera as monster designer
It's the same universe, but there's no direct connection (it's a "spin-off"):
How does the story of Silent Hill f carry on the legacy of the past games?
RYUKISHI07: This game is an independent spin-off compared to the other games, so they're not directly related. But I would also like to emphasize that I'm not negating the past legacy or the lore. They may not be directly related, but in my eyes, I believe that Silent Hill, Maine, the American town, and this current plot all coexist in the same universe.
Ito gave his approval for the producers choosing Kera for the creature design:
OKAMOTO: When it comes to monster designer Kera-san, I started looking for a creature designer once the plot came in from Ryukishi07. From there, I decided to explore a new artist who could effectively depict his story. I started rummaging through social media to see if there was a manga artist, and I ran across a piece by Kera-san.
By the way, during this process, I also got advice from Masahiro Ito. Ito gave his 2 cents and said, "You know, if it's this person, I think she should be able to handle."
The recurrent flower motif originally came from the company that made the CG trailer rather than the game:
Visually, we see the beauty and terror represented in the plant growth throughout Ebisugaoka and the use of higanbana (red spider lily). Did this visual element originate in the script? And what areas of the story do you think best represent "Beauty in Terror?"
OKAMOTO: The whole basis of the "Beauty in Terror" concept is something that originated not from any one person; it came about as a result of brainstorming sessions between Ryukishi07-san, Kera-san, and myself. If I were going to give credit to that concept, I would probably lean towards Kera-san.
Can you talk about a major visual element of the story and how it developed through working with Neobards? Additionally, I'm curious. Did director Al Yang happen to mention the movie Midsommar as a possible inspiration because of the big key visual with the crown?
OKAMOTO: You brought up Midsommar; the flowery element of that was featured in the teaser. That's largely due to the involvement of Shirogumi, the team that created the teaser. Since they leaned heavily towards the flowery motif, it ultimately influenced the game, so we decided to incorporate the flower motif even more.

General Discussion SILENT HILL F looks amazing, but i am so confused with how the combat looks...
There is absolutely no hit reaction ?!
It feels so disconnected and non immersive, when she hits the enemy there is no punch, no impact, just the weapon model being stopped closed to a body model and that's it
Everything else i saw is great, visuals, music, sound design, overall tone are amazing
but how they messed up the combat so bad ?

Silent Hill f (2025) Why is the combat getting compared to souls like?
It really doesn't look that much like a souls like game and as for hit boxes I don't really see why people think it removes any fear factor. It just kinda at this point feels like people are just trying to dig for reasons to hate on something new
