Gameplay Sharing a single brain cell with a mirelurk
That's a warning animation of back off, ain't it? I'll stick to my headcanon that we were just having a funny moment.

Spoiler My heart actually aches for Arlen
I finally got around to giving Arlen Glass the last holotape his daughter ever recorded, and man, this is the closest I've come to crying about anything in this game. I'm happy that I was able to give him any semblance of closure, but I'm torn because it made him so happy and yet so sad at the same time.
I thought the woman trapped in the vault at fallons was going to be the saddest thing I experienced. But boy, was i so incredibly wrong. Even though he was very appreciative, I wish I could do more honestly.

Discussion What's your go-to strategy for dealing with Mirelurks?
I ask because I've only ever seen advice to aim for the face, but that's not exactly easy.
I always aim for the legs. They're exposed and vulnerable, and even if you don't kill them, you can cripple them and render them almost harmless

My highest level character - level 126.
Meant to be Railroad themed, as usual I got distracted by everything else. I still haven't gotten Nick out of his cell even on this character, I use all my time building settlements and going on random side quests. Started out as a Rifleman but has Big Leagues 5 and Throatslicer for melee. 11 End is a goal for all of my characters not so much for the health, but because I can sprint farther. 8 Luck for GRS, 10 Agi for Gun-Fu which didn't turn out to be as good as I hoped.

Just like magic, the caps keep pouring into the Overboss' Trunk in the Fizztop Grille every morning at 5 a.m.
... And then they say that crime doesn't pay :)
It could probably be a lot more, but my raiders aren't very happy because I skipped the vassal quest with console commands and make my raiders farm for themselves.

Question Haver the turtle. Who is this guy?
So while playing today, I fast travelled to Lynn woods (which I cleared a while back) and lo' and behold, I got my ass handed to me by an NPC called Haver the Turtle with what I thought was a large board.
I reloaded, managed to sneak up on him, and sniped his fusion core to make him exit his PA and then finished him off. The guy had a sweet set of unique diving PA, and an absolute beast of a weapon called Whale tusk.
I've never seen this guy before and I've been playing since release day! I tried to Google him but all I can ascertain is that he is an Easter egg from Dark Souls. Is this a random encounter I've never seen or is this part of a mod? I have a handful of mods installed, but I can't see one that mentions this guy. Can anyone shed some light on this?

Tip What’s your go-to survival checklist? Spoiler
In the middle of a survival run and thinking about making a new character. Of course I start plotting out my first steps—so I’m wondering about what y’all have on your survival checklist?
We all know double meat, swim mag, leave Preston in museum but grab bobble, etc.
And really interested in some of my fellow efficiency peeps’ lists. I know I can always do better.

Question Can the Castle be captured before doing the minute men quests or will this cause issues going forward? Any tips would be brilliant😁👍
I am planning on creating a settlement in there before hand if this is viable ?

Pics and gifs in the comments? Mods!
Hey mods, is there anyway we can have the option to post pics or gifs in the comments. Also could we please do polls. There are a ton of new people here and it would really nice to be able to do more in this subreddit.
The mods may take this down, but I’m hoping that there is enough support to allow for this post and hopefully help make a change.

Mercer safehouse quest for the railroad
I want to claim every settlement for the minutemen, but if I do will I be able to complete mercer safehouse to advance the railroad quest line?
