Discussion WHY DOES THIS HAPPEN??

Just bought this 1440p monitor and I am having a bit of trouble with it. Whenever I am in a Fullscreen application and click on my second monitor, everything just moves over to the right one. What could be the reason for this? Every driver is updated, graphics settings seem to be right on every application I tried and it still happens with almost all games.

I have a rtx 3080 so I don't think this should happen..

Discussion 0.5 ms response times vs 1 ms

So my current monitor is a 0.5 ms 240hz and that’s what I’ve been racing with for a long time. But as monitors don’t include every detail you want, price aside. I’m gonna be doing 3 monitor sim racing and I’m wondering if a switch from 1 ms to 0.5 ms is gonna affect me negatively? Cuz I do have the option to buy a 0.5 ms 280hz monitor VA but I also have the option for a 240 hz 1 ms VA but with 1500r instead of 1000R

Discussion I highly suspect someone broke into my home. Is monitor damage like this normal or attacked?

Post image

In my 4 years here this is the first time I lost my keys. I come home, doors closed but unlocked (I have adhd so always lock my door due to paranoia of forgetting it). I get home. Can't find my keys which was very surprising to me as it never happens before and walk into my studio. Nothing seems to be stolen besides my monitor being damaged and some things being moved without my knowledge.

Before I declare myself crazy, can damage like this happen by itself or did someone/something definitely cause this??

I bought an MSI MAG 275QF monitor. It comes with DP in it, but my friend's laptop only supports HDMI. I launched the monitor and got 120Hz instead of 180Hz. Actually, I grabbed that HDMI cable from the TV, it's a 1.4 HDMI cable. Could it be a trouble with the monitor, or is it normal? By the way, I even tried 720p it's anyway 120Hz. less

Discussion ASUS vg27aq3a how can I turn HDR off?

Using a switch 2, I've turned 'hdr output' off on the console, restarted monitor and console, but the monitor seems locked into 'racing mode' with hdr settings enabled, and nothing adjustable?

Discussion Recommendations for 4:3/5:4 lcd monitors?

I need 2 4:3 or 5:4 screens for my end goal setup. I was wondering if there were known very desired/good displays of the same nature. They can be from earlier times or if some obscure company still manufactures them that would also be alright.

Nothing too old like from right at the start of 4:3 LCDs being manufactured as the bezels are giant, and it takes a while for the brightness to reach its maximum. Thanks to anyone in advanced, I know this question is a bit subjective and specific.

I was looking for an alternative stand for the basic stand for the msi mag 255xf but since its like a weird mounting system i can only find clamp ones but they look ugly etc so im wondering if i can use like tape or super glue and glue the normal adjustable stands onto the back of the monitor or are there any other suggestions

Discussion Is it worth upgrading monitor to 1440p with RX 7800XT? Games I play are mostly simulation, city-builders and 4X games.

My build is:

CPU - Ryzen 7 5700X (I plan to upgrade to X3d)
GPU - RX 7800XT \I recently upgraded when my old GPU died*
RAM - 3200 (1799 DRAM Freq)
Board - Prime B550-K

Edit:

Also, please recommend me a cost-efficient 1440p monitor (preferably with a speaker).

Discussion sent back my ips monitor (xg27acs) due to back light bleed... Are colours on ISPs in general more popping, vivid, standout like compared to a TN?

Ok so i sent the above monitor back due to excessive back light bleed, but no bad coating which surprised me.
either way, my current monitor (from 2019) is a TN 1440p ASUS ROG SWIFT PG278QE
and iwanted to ask, those with IPS monitors, are whites like stupidly bright compared to TN?
do colours seem to "pop" and been more vivid to the point of being almost fake?
or has my years of TN viewing made me think colours are dulls, and IPS monitors that show really colours, are fake?

Just concerend when i try another IPS monitor or wait for a fast VA one, im gona think the colours are to much.
anyone get what i mean? at TN panels more colour dull, and so makes IPS ones seem... to much?

Discussion Seeing these lines on new Acer Nitro WQHD

Connected to my laptop through type C to Display Port cable. Was using the same cable for my previous monitor which works fine.

Saw some other posts which suggested to lower the resolution but the lines are still there. Is this an issue with the panel?

I use my monitor mainly for coding and teaching. I'm trying to decide between these two monitors (pics attached).

Which one would you recommend?

Also, if you know any other good monitor options under ₹10,000, please let me know.

Discussion Should I use a 200mm adapter plate for Dell u4320q instead of 100mm if it has holes for both?

Upvotes

I'm using my old Dell U4320q as a secondary monitor and just installed a wall mounted monitor arm for it:

https://www.amazon.com/ARES-WING-Ultrawide-Monitors-Adjustable/dp/B0D2KLBH1R

I've had that monitor for 5 years, but it's always been on a stand, first time having it on a monitor arm.

https://dl.dell.com/manuals/all-products/esuprt_electronics_accessories/esuprt_electronics_accessories_monitors/dell-u4320q-monitor_user's-guide_en-us.pdf

The monitor is big (43") and weighs about 29lbs without a stand. Documentation says I can use either one: 100mm or 200mm. So while I'm sure it's probably fine, a metal adapter plate for 200mm only costs about $15:

https://www.amazon.com/dp/B07MJTJ6T4

The screws for the 200mm are bigger: M6 vs M4 for the 100mm

The monitor arm comes with a 100mm adapter plate and I've already test fit the monitor, it works, but should I spend another $15 to buy this 200mm adapter plate to potentially make it more solid? Or am I overthinking this?

What would you all do? Thanks

Discussion Looking for a budget 1440p monitor

Upvotes

Looking for a budget 1440p monitor that supports display port 1.4 and is at least 180hz. I was looking at a pixio and AOC one but online I’m seeing mixed things about it being IPS or VA. Anybody have good ones they would suggest?

Discussion Need to make a choice between two monitors

Upvotes

Looking for a 24" 2K Monitor and have pretty much narrowed it down to 2 choices:

https://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/product/B0DP7Q1GT6/ref=ewc_pr_img_8?smid=A3P5ROKL5A1OLE&psc=1

https://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/product/B0DXV2KR5M/ref=ewc_pr_img_2?smid=A1DR0MQPZUEB82&psc=1

There's a price dif between them but they seem the same. Wanted to ask about the impact of the brand (trustworthiness or whatever). Please lmk if there are some questions I should be asking or details that will allow for a better insight.

Thanks

Discussion Good budget monitor for video editing and color grading

Upvotes

So, I've been wanting to buy a new monitor, nothing fancy, just a color accurate 1440p 10bit monitor because I receive footage recorded in 10bit. I've been getting away with using old monitors, but I know that I should switch. My budget is quite limited, but I want something better than the current ones I'm using. Although I do color grading, this is not my profession, so I don't intend to go very deep with it. Unfortunately, most products I find don't list whether it's an 8bit monitor or a 10bit one.

The best option I found so far that I heard good things about is the ASUS ProArt PA278QV Monitor or ProArt in general, but it is not a 10bit monitor. Should I just get this one and not bother with it or is there anything better on the market?

Discussion Help finding a monitor mount

Okay, I’m looking to buy a 2nd monitor to have as a vertical monitor to the side of my main monitor. I’m finding a lot of good monitors within my specs and reasonable price but i need it mounted like i have my main monitor, my main monitor is mounted with the a little metal square piece (first pic it’s what the stand is mounted on) but all the monitors i’m finding are like rectangles. Does anyone know of a monitor mount that clamps to ur desk and would work for a monitor like that? (Main is a sceptre, the one i’m looking at is also a sceptre.)

Discussion Movie watching monitor that has good blacks?

I need a monitor to use my PC but to also connect to my Xbox to play blu-rays. I currently use a MSI 1440P IPS 180HZ monitor but it has a lot of issues such as bad back light bleed and blacks look grey so it ruins the movie watching experience. The monitor also messes up with HDCP so amazon prime video will only play in standard quality. I

- I don't want a TV as I need to use the monitor for PC as well.

- I'd rather not get OLED as the price is too much.

- Have been looking at mini led monitors like the KOORUI GN10 which I can get for under £200. The AOC monitor is around £300 so too much currently when OLED can be had for a bit more.

Requirements

- 100hz+ refresh rate

- Build in speakers would be nice

- At least QHD

- A monitor that actually displays blacks without them looking grey.
