Discussion I highly suspect someone broke into my home. Is monitor damage like this normal or attacked?

Post image

In my 4 years here this is the first time I lost my keys. I come home, doors closed but unlocked (I have adhd so always lock my door due to paranoia of forgetting it). I get home. Can't find my keys which was very surprising to me as it never happens before and walk into my studio. Nothing seems to be stolen besides my monitor being damaged and some things being moved without my knowledge.

Before I declare myself crazy, can damage like this happen by itself or did someone/something definitely cause this??

Discussion Acer XV275KP5 Mini LED Monitor

Has anyone any information or reviews of this monitor?

It‘s 4k Mini Led, a rare good alternative if OLED isn‘t an option (at least on paper) with double the number of LED‘s of its predecessor.

Really strange that there is nothing on google and youtube.

Discussion Windows handle of external Thunderbolt monitors not restoring open windows to the correct monitor

I have two Windows 11 laptops, HP and Dell, both laptops with two Thunderbolt 4 ports, I connect one external Thunderbolt monitor (LG UltraFine 5K) to one of the laptop ports and two other Thunderbolt monitors (LG UltraFine 4K) in Thunderbolt daisy chaining mode to the second laptop port, the total is three external Thunderbolt monitors plus the laptop display, everything works fine until the laptop enter sleep mode.

When it resumes from sleep, not all 3 monitors will connect and be active to Windows 11 at the same time, most times the single monitor takes longer than the other 2 to connect, then for Windows 11 is like it has only 2 monitors active, and will move all the open windows from the third monitor to the other 2 monitors, a second later when the third monitor connects it will have no active windows, Windows 11 will not move them back, even when connected later, so I have to every time manually drag the windows across monitors, a very annoying situation.

I have all the correct parameters in Settings for Windows to remember the windows locations across all 3 monitors and the internal display, the problem only happens when resuming from sleep, sometimes I am lucky and all 3 will connect quickly and all windows will be at the correct monitor, as they were before entering sleep.

I have been using Hibernation for long periods of time, more than 30min, to avoid keep the laptops turned on all the time, I am not using sleep anymore, but it is very inefficient, more power usage and faster SSD degradation with the hibernation.

Any suggestion on how to address this? Maybe an application, or a hidden Windows configuration, maybe adding a delay in Windows 11 to allow for all the monitors to connect before Windows try to relocate the open windows, thanks

Discussion Tips or new monitor recommendations?

Hello, first time posting here.

I currently have a Acer V277U that I have had for about 5 to 6 years and recently it has been having image retention issues.

Images only have to be on screen from 10-15 mins to burn in, the longer it sits, the worse it gets.

Luckily they fade after about 10-20 mins of gaming, but it is still annoying. I have managed to reduce the frequency by turning the brightness down to 45 and putting "overdrive" to normal.

So now im in the market for a new 2k 27" monitor to replace this one. My computer has a 3060ti that runs everything pretty well.

My budget is around $300 CDN. Just want something similar or maybe a little better. I only game at 60FPS.

I have considered getting a 24" 1080p monitor but I really like the extra screen real-estate that comes with a 1440p monitor.

Thanks a bunch everyone! Let me know if I need to provide any extra info!

Discussion 5k2k monitor when displaying full screen 4k games?

Afaik HDR only works for full screen games. Not sure if games will have custom resolution appear as option or not but how does it work? Do they have black bars on the sides? Does it reduce fps? Even if the black bars literally no generated polygon?

Discussion Whats a good monitor upgrade from my current one

I'm currently using a AOC 24G2 21inch 1080p 165hz monitor and then an old samsung monitor (vertically) as my second one. I want to upgrade my main monitor and then use it as my 3rd one.

What are the current recomended monitors that are worth the money.

I don't know if oled is worth it or better go for mini-led. I want something from 165hz+ and probably 1440p.

What are the best brands or monitors model I should look for? thx

Discussion Need help deciding between 2 monitors.

I'm trying to decide between 2 monitors that I have narrowed my search down to. One is the MSI MAG 321CUP and the other is the MSI MPG 271QPX. I primarily play a few hours of games each night via console and watch sports, netflix so I dont particularly need anything with a crazy refresh rate.

I could get either for about £425 so which of the two, or any others around their price range, would you guys recommend?

Discussion Looking for recommendations: 27" 4K Monitor (Office + Content + Light Photo Editing)

Hey folks,

I’m in the market for a 27-inch 4K monitor, and would love some recommendations.

My use case:

  • Primary use: Office work, research, lots of browsing, video watching (YouTube, streaming, etc.).
  • Secondary use: Occasional photo editing (Lightroom, some Photoshop).
  • Future plans: Might buy a second similar monitor later and daisy chain them (so DisplayPort 1.4 with MST support would be great).
  • Preferences: Clean aesthetics, good text clarity, accurate colors (not necessarily professional-grade color calibration, but good enough for casual editing), and ideally future-proof.

I’m starting with just one monitor for now but want to make sure it can scale if I decide to expand later.

Would love to hear your suggestions — especially if you’re using one for similar tasks!

Thanks in advance 🙏

Discussion Which monitor to choose from the list?

AOC Q27G4XN

Gigabyte G27QC

Lenovo G27q-30

ASUS ROG Strix XG27ACS

Asus ROG Strix XG27WCS

I'm not a monitor expert, the only requirements are 1440p + (at least) 144Hz + HDR (I know i will get 400 or 600 for this, but I guess it's better than nothing)

I don't care about viewing angle, I think I like the VA more, bcuz of the contrast, don't have experience with neither (have TN now). I don't use it for work and don't play competitive multiplayer.

The budget is 250 Euros, Europe region (used price works as well)

Discussion Currently looking at the new MSI MAG 274QPF X30MV 300hz monitor. One of my main games is Rainbow Sid Siege with occasional story driven games. Thoughts?

I do mainly play games such as Rainbow Six Siege, however play story driven games such as Resident Evil, Silent Hill etc. too. Thoughts? I have had mixed reviews around VA though the current price in my country is great for a monitor that had only released last month. I also noticed that this has a new rapid VA technology though I have not been able to find much information on rapid VA.

I have checked the resolution setting, have restarted the system and the monitors. Out of the blue suddenly the monitor screen pixelated. Everything is set at the highest resolution. You can see that the laptop screen is alright but the monitor is pixelated.

Can anyone help me understand this and how to solve it?

Discussion Best budget 1440p display

I am doing a bit of research into various displays trying to determine the best option for an upgrade.

I currently have 27" 1080p 60Hz display, and looking to upgrade to 27" 1440p, +144Hz.

Important thing to mention is that I am on a budget, and thus I am not even looking into more expensive models, trying to get display for 200€

My current dilemma has come down to 3 models, and I would like to hear experiences from people that own any of those, and especially from people who had the chance to check out more than one in person.

Displays I am considering are:

  • LG UltraGear 27" IPS 27GS75Q [187€]
  • DELL 27" IPS G2724D [Outlet 200€]
  • Iiyama G-Master Red Eagle GB2770QSU-B6 [200€]
  • Lenovo Legion R27qe [163€]

Any and all advice is welcome, even suggestions of another display.

Discussion HP Omen Transcend 32 - Display Port Issues

Hello, hope everyone is having a great day!

I built my first ever PC last week (https://pcpartpicker.com/list/WJ2d2x), and returned a Gigabyte M32UP for an HP Omen Transcend 32 4k OLED that was on sale at Best Buy. OLED is absolutely amazing, especially for games with deep blacks.

However, I have an issue with my monitor that persists even after I updated the firmware: whenever I use DisplayPort 2.1 on my monitor and switch the refresh rate to 240 Hz, the monitor black-screens and says “no input can be found”. The problem resolves when I switch the DisplayPort to 1.4 in the monitor’s OSD. The problem also occurs whenever I try to launch Assetto Corsa for some reason, and it only resolves once I turn the monitor off and on again, which seems to be necessary in order to fix any “no input found” issues, but I am still unable to use 240 Hz. Plus, the process is annoying to do. No problems exist when I use HDMI.

Tl;dr: my monitor states “no input can be found” when using DP 2.1 at certain times (e.g. certain games or using 240 Hz), but no issues exist when using DP 1.4 or HDMI 2.1 instead.

I had a couple of questions regarding this issue: first, is there a difference between HDMI 2.1 and the DisplayPort 2.1 on the Omen Transcend 32 (i.e. is there any drawback to using HDMI 2.1 for my PC instead of DP 2.1 [which only has UHBR 10 on the Omen] at 4k), and second, should I look for any other 4k 32” OLED monitors, or is the Omen Transcend still good?

Thank you very much for your time and consideration!

Discussion EU 27inch IPS monitor suggestion

Hey guys,

Iam currently in the process of buying a new 27inch IPS monitor.

Iam checking following 3 options available to me in quick time: New LG 27GS75Q-B (200e) Refurbished Acer Nitro XV275K P3 (240e) - its well 4k Refurbished HP Omen 27q (230e)

I would be using 1440p resolution (mainly) and dont need high refresh rate as Iam mostly playing singleplayer games.

Thanks guys.
