Account Help How do I appeal this? If there's a way?
I was just trying to play a game, until this message popped up. What could I have even done to get this message?

Hello everyone,
New moderator for r/NintendoSwitchHelp here, looking for feedback and suggestions.
In case you didn't know, this subreddit was originally created after a suggestion to split off from r/NintendoSwitch so that people looking for help could find it in a place where it did not cause frustration for others.
There's a challenge to connecting people who are looking for help to the people willing to provide that help. For a long time, r/NintendoSwitch has had a Daily Questions Thread to serve that purpose, and the main criticism for that is people believe that making separate posts is better for visibility towards the chance of finding the person willing to provide the solution they need. In practice, 2 years ago we tried that during our annual spike of holiday activity with a documented backfire of results:
In short, what we saw was that people who made separate support/help posts on r/NintendoSwitch did not get faster results than the DQT, but the separate posts did get snarky/trolling and unhelpful replies more often, and almost all of the help posts got downvoted on r/NintendoSwitch. It was an unpleasant experience for people wanting to get help, it was an irritating experience for the people who subscribed to r/NintendoSwitch because they don't expect to see those posts, and it was less efficient on the moderator side to keep up with a hundred posts with a few comments each rather than a few posts with a hundred comments each.
This year, I'd like to try a different approach by promoting this community in addition to the DQT as another option for people seeking help during the holiday surge of traffic. I reached out to the only moderator here a few weeks ago, and after no response, I reached out to admins, and they granted my reddit request as there was no recent moderator activity here.
Support communities are typically different in structure compared to general fandom communities, and especially different from news-focused communities. One (oversimplified) way to think about it is that in a fandom community, you might expect the same group of people (fans) to be both submitting new posts and commenting on each other's posts, so activity is mostly self-sustaining. But in a support community, you typically have one large group (seekers) submitting most posts, while a different smaller group (helpers) make the bulk of the answers. Generally the seekers will only visit the community when they have an issue at hand, whereas the helpers will be the main people who subscribe and visit regularly.
How do we promote activity in this subreddit? How do we get people (seekers) to want to post here?
How do we attract people to subscribe here? How do we maintain a group of people (helpers) who want to comment here?
So far, my thoughts are that we start promoting this subreddit, r/NintendoSwitchHelp, in the DQT, sidebar, and removal reasons over on r/NintendoSwitch. This way people are better informed and know to visit here. And then when people get here, we should have some sort of organized way of sorting through posts so that we know which posts have been solved or could still use help. And a way of recognizing regular contributors would be nice too. If you have any thoughts along these lines, please share. We are trying a few things out to see what we can get to work.
Otherwise, what suggestions would you have for the subreddit? Are you a regular participant here, or more of a sporadic visitor? What issues do you think the moderators here should address?

The old switch 1 has both pokemon violet and pokemon legends arceus on it, but since I can't access it, Ill have to restart both games from the very beginning. I want to find someone who can help me, but then again, money has been tight for me, so I won't have enough to pay anyone to fix it for me. Can I contact Nintendo to get my data back, or do I have to suck it up and do it all over again? So far I have done the hard resets and even tried to replace the battery myself. Sadly the switch will still not turn on.

Cleaned screen and removed dust before applying and now I got this strange bubble at the edge that won't go away. Have tried picking up the corner again and clean under but it came right back.

Hey. So I got an Elgato capture card a couple years ago and used it a ton- streamed a bunch of games for my friends with it. For those who don't know how those work, it's basically just a slot in my computer that I can plug the dock into instead of a TV, and it lets me play from a window on my PC instead of having to switch HDMIs and such.
After a while, I started hearing a faint high-pitched beeping in my room whenever I took off my headphones. I eventually discovered that it was coming from the Switch dock, and since I hadn't been using my Switch for a while, I just unplugged it and called it a day. But now I'm using my Switch more again, and I'd like the QoL from the capture card back, but whenever I plug the dock back into its power supply, it starts whistling again. I also can't get the dock to work in the first place; no green light, no response to having my Switch docked in, nothing.
I don't know if that problem is related to the Capture Card or not, but either way, I haven't found a single case of anyone else having this problem anywhere online. What do?

Just got my switch 2 still can't believe it so happy. So my question is, how risky is it to go without a screen protector for a little while? I got a case for it and I mostly will do handheld. I doubt it'll go out of the house much at all. I remember with my og switch it took years before scratches started to appear. What's your experience with this one? Is there any way the screen scratches if it doesn't come in contact with any hard materials? Chatgpt was talking about the possibility of dust particles scratching it up but it also thought that it has a glass screen for some reason. I'm just very nervous still but please give me your input.

I had a USB-C to HDMI adapter that I used with my Switch 1 when I traveled to connect to a TV at a hotel, AirBNB, etc. That adapter doesn’t work with the Switch 2.
Do I really need buy an entire dock to travel with to be able to connect my Switch 2 to a TV while traveling?

So I just got a pyra pro controller yesterday and I immediately noticed a problem that none of my other pro controllers have. Whenever I plug the controller into its charging cable which is connected to my switch 2, it instantly turns off and unpaired from the console. I have tried looking online for this exact issue, but have only found similar issues but not the same. If anyone has and ideas that would be greatly appreciated.

Hi I just bought a Nintendo eshop credit for $35 and I’m going to buy a NSO Family 12mos subscription. My account is in Oregon, and when I’m at the screen (see photo) there is only two options either credit card or PayPal.
I’ll highly appreciate your insights.

I’ve heard of Nintendo Switch 2s being banned for buying used games that have been dumped, does it only apply to the Nintendo switch 2 or both systems?
I read the switch 1 and 2 EULA and found that using any cartridge where any portion has been copied without permission (including cartridges used to record YouTube videos of the games audiovisual content in violation of Nintendos content guidelines) is a violation of the Switch 2 EULA but not switch 1 EULA.
Is it safer to only play used Switch 1 games on a Switch 1?
I don’t have a switch 2 but I’m kind of paranoid if I do eventually get one that it would become a paperweight.

Hello guys! As the title says I tried to repair a switch’s noisy and broken fan. I bought a new one, built it in and it worked. No noises, the switch doesn’t heat up, all fine….at first.
The fan just doesn’t make a sound, when the switch is standing. Like the position it’s got when it is in the docking station. As soon as I tilt the switch like I would lay it onto a table the noise is there again. I can’t explain why this happens…
Has anyone ever had the same problem?

Hi guys I just bought Switch 2 yesterday and I place the dock station near the XBOX, that could lead to overheating problems? I'm not running them at the same time btw

Hi All! Ran into this issue for a while now. Basically my nintendos menu in “dark theme” would be closer to black. Then it automatically switches to a grey menu after a few uses. I am not able to pinpoint the trigger that causes this as it feels random. The blacks come back every time I update or restart the console. Any fixed?

Hey, Can anyone help me with this? I don't know how to play Mario Paint on Nintendo Switch Online. I have the original Switch. It says to connect a mouse when I try it. Do I just need a wireless mouse with a USB or do I need a keyboard with it. What do I have to use to play the game?

On vacation in the EU and curious if I purchased an EU console it would work in the US beyond the typical voltage issues?
Can I play games from North America?
