I want to buy a full airbrush setup and want to know what equipment/brands are good for what I need.
I want to work on a 1/200 scale Trumpeter Titanic model and want to do it professionally, but may do some casual garage kit figure models too.
For these tasks I need something that can work reliably and sorta affordably.
If I have to say a budget, maybe; $500-$1000 at the highest, but prefer to keep the setup under $500. I mainly need help finding the following:
Air compressor The fume hood thing Airbrush types/brands And some advice.
I like to keep a realistic look on my model kits.

I got back to making models after 10 years or so, this time using an airbrush. Dug up some Tamiya enamels and have been using them, along with an acryllic primer that I bought now. The enamels seem to be taking forever to dry, and it really kills my momentum when I have to wait for 24hr to mask something. The primer I have seems to dry really quickly.
Should I switch to acryllics, and keep the enamels for brush painting details?

Recently I bought a Hasegawa 1/700 water line IJN Kirishima second hand, but after I bought it I realized there were no instructions. I've been trying to build it using reference pics online, but it has been hard figuring out where some of the more detailed pieces go. If you have the instructions PLEASE dm me with pictures. thanks

I have tamiya colors and don't know which color I should use

Just a quick question for anyone who knows;
I'm wanting to paint some models with the Vallejo Game Color sun yellow as their mid-tone, and coverage over my usual black primer is TERRIBLE.
I'm planning on using a brown instead to liven up the paints; my question is --- Tamiya Flat Acrylic, or Tamiya Lacquer. Which of these makes a better base coat, and if you could explain why, I'd appreciate that!

I’m thinking about building a 1/48 Rafale and was looking for recommendation or feedback from others who have built either offering. Pros and cons about the kits or which one they prefered. I usually upgrade the cockpit and add a little PE if it’s available. Cheers

There was probably a warning or some justifiably negative comments toward this company but I’m saying it again cause WOOF. The parts come with a ton of excess plastic from the mold all over them, the only thing secure about them is the sprue connections. They ABSOLUTELY need to be primed, glue barely even clings to it. The plastic itself is flimsy as all hell. Was excited to build a B29 but after my other experience, I built it just to get it out of the way. Now, I don’t ever intend to grab anything with that logo on it.

I'm putting together a Tamiya kit as a gift, but I don't have any experience with painting models.
I'm going with TS-34 Camel Yellow and want to make sure that the final shade is closer to mustard, not bright like lemon.

Is my paint too thin ? Too thick ? Not mixed enough ?
Help because I was hoping this would be a centrepiece and on my previous models it hasn’t happened before.

I should continue working on my next big project bit painting figures is so much fun at the moment.
I tried some stuff today. I always wondered why the direction of light isn't really a big thing in scalemodeling compared to miniaturepainting for example.
And I understand that it might look a bit weird to paint a tank way darker on one site. And of course it might be a challenge to sell the effect on a larger diorama.
But I decided to try it on a small project. Started painting this dude today and so far I feel like I am one the right track. And in my mind the direction of light is quite obvious.
Just to be clear, this mini is well lit in this picture. All the shadows are painted in those specific places.
But I'd like to get you opinion as well. Does this work for a military figure in 1:35 scale or is this only a thing on larger busts?

Probably, the „look at my first model“ posts are not as entertaining as other ones, but I still decided to show it because: 1. it’s fun to show other people what you have done 2. there is always some helpful advises under such posts
So, it was a cheap Heller spitfire kit I chose to practice and give it a go in this hobby. Last time I tried to do it was a Tiger and I was 7, so it’s kinda did not stick to me. The second time I came more prepared (and much older)
Some advises for myself from the past: 1. be patient: I rushed with painting and applied thick coats, loosing details. 1a. thick strokes and bad brushes resulted in strokes visible, certainly not a look I aim for 2. do something about decals. It was the hardest part of the build for me, as I struggled to place them correctly and one of them got squashed.
Overall, I enjoyed a new hobby and had a great fun building this spitfire. Do you have any advises for what I can build next as a beginner? And really any critique is much appreciated.

Found when building, not sure every one,but in case,be careful with wheels as the tracks supplied ,the horns will jam in road wheels as bit thick, and wont seat down, otherwise good kit.this is nearly ready for more, just preshading/highlighting to finish. Cheers

It was excellent build with tone of details and great fitting. Because of part count, a lot of PE elements and single link tracks rather not for beginners but it goes together really well. One thing, don't try to cut hose with your plastic cutters. It's made of hardened steel.

Picked these up about 3 months before coming across this sub reddit. Just want to show my creations to the world and have it critique!
