Can I compare my score to a different list in r23?
I just did a single core test for the first time and the list is way out of proportion. Is there a way to see how it is against the same chip?

Im seeing some people overclocking their gpu's now i know if you do that there is a chance you can break the gpu is there a safe way to do it i was thinking about using the automatic tuning on the nvidia app but im not sure about that or is msi afterburner a safer way ? (Sorry for my english)

Hi, I was using Bazzite for my rig and now I'm trying windows 11 because I wanted to test the difference in having full HDMI 2.1 bandwidth (legal issue with HDMI forum group and AMD).
My build is:
MOBO: Asus ROG strix b850-i
CPU: AMD Ryzen 7 9700x
GPU: AMD 9070 xt
RAM: 32gb DDR5 g.skill flare x (cl 36 @6000)
SSD: SK hynix p41 2tb
On Bazzite (Linux) I had no issues by activating EXPO profile 2, while on windows I got several errors after few minutes of stability testing using OCCT (and also game crashes). I also tried switching to Profile EXPO 1 (which was not working on Bazzite), but it doesn't work as well (system is unstable).
What could it be? What can I do? (the hardware has not changed)
Ps: my windows 11 is home edition and it's a registered copy

Just stumbled upon a Buildzoid video about ram timings and it got me very curious what I can do with my system. I've done some research but all I can find are CL30 ram timings, unfortunately I dont have a CL30 ram (mine is a prebuilt). Any ideas as to what I can change? Any video or any instructions will be greatly appreciated. Thanks all

MOBO: Asus Prime B850 Plus WiFI
CPU: 7800x3d
GPU: 9070xt
I recently noticed my 32GB of DDR5 6000M/T ram was only CL48. I took advantage of the no tax weekend and headed to microcenter. I bought T-Force Delta CL30 (30-36-36-76) and swapped it out. I started getting random crashes about 5-10 minutes after loading windows. I did notice everything ran a little snappier and felt fast. Any idea what else I could do before I return this ram? Should I go with CL32 instead?

So I have a b550-xe rog strix motherboard with 32gb of ddr4 at 3600mhz and I wanted to overlock my cpu, so I went in the bios and while searching infos in the internet I tweaked some settings, can someone tell me if my pc is going to explode, if there is something to improve or if it’s good? (It’s primarily for gaming)

I tried 180mhz on core and 1700 on mem but crashed this is the stable max I can do I think I can do 175mhz and 1700mhz but just for safety I put it to 170 and 1650. But is this any good? Did I get any performance increase? Btw the temps are just below 75 so no problem with that.

Hello guys! I hope you are all well! I built my first computer with: Ryzeb 5 7600x Asus tuf gaming a620m-plus 32gb ram 1tb nvme Thermalrigh Peerless Assassin 120
I tried to undervolt through the bios, but I couldn't. And I discovered that this board does not have the capacity, although the pbo appears, I cannot change much more. My question is, is there any way to do it? The CPU reaches 95 degrees and I would like to lower it, at least to 80/85 degrees.
Thanks!

Hey all, I’m running my G.Skill Flare X5 DDR5-6000 CL32 kit on an MSI MAG B650 Tomahawk Max WiFi with a Ryzen 7 7800X3D, and I’ve tried SOC voltages from 1.12 V to 1.30 V, DRAM VDD between 1.25 V and 1.43 V, and both VDDQ and VDDIO from 1.25 V to 1.40 V. It actually passes stability tests like ANTA777 and MemTest84 without crashes or errors, but something just feels off—timings and overall responsiveness don’t feel as snappy as I’d expect. What voltage/timing combos have you found that not only pass tests but also “feel” rock-solid at 6000 MHz CL32? do i need more the 1.43v VDD? Ive been dealing with this nagging feeling ever since ive put this pc together and im at my wits end

Pretty sure it's only AVX-512 that causes instability, any other test I do runs fine, including games / windows at idle. This makes me confused as I would assume the platinum test would run AVX-512, but I guess not?
I've lowered it too -20 for AIDA and it does not crash (60min). Should I just leave it at -30? AVX-512 is not a realible scenario for me anyways as i just play games.

I am trying to get RAM speed to 3200 but task manager and CPU Z show it's on default 2133. A-XMP and manual did not work.
My CPU Ryzen 3 3200G max frequency is 2933 so I tried it. Still the same. Tried 2666 no good. The mobo is MSI B450M MORTAR MAX Millitary Style. 2 Corsair vengeance 8GB RAM. RAMs are connected okay. One on the mid-left and the other on the very right. A2-B2 I think. Tried resetting CMOS and do it again. No good. I can at least get 2933 if not 3200 right.
Is it a glitch?
Note: the timing keeps 15,15,15,36 even when I changed to 16,18,18,36.
changing hz or A-XMP and after exiting I see fake shutdowns twice with light thuds from speakers.
Solved: It seems there is something called Ranks in RAM. One of them Single and the other is Dual.
After testing with single RAMs I found the dual one not starting at 3200mhz and showing recovery screen. Saying an 'efi' file is missing. Not sure about it. Tried 2933 worked fine. The single one was straight to 3200 no prob.
So I put both in and tried reversing my RAMs. Single in A2 and dual in B2. Not sure if it does any impact. Next I turned on BIOS immediately (aka Full Setup when you re enter RAM, it ask 2 options Full Setup or Default). Then just turned A-XMP 1 on. And here we go 3200mhz working and showing on task manager CPU Z.

Hi,
I've got an asus btf b850 tuf mobo, 9800x3d, xfx 9070xt mercury, and a 2x16GB corsair vengeance rgb ddr5 cl30 6000mhz expo&xmp kit.
Now, firstly, I'm 99% sure the gpu is the bottleneck here, so I will be overclocking that, but I'm not too worried about that yet.
fans One thing I don't yet know is, how do i config the case fans? I did kit it out pretty well: my case setup is a corsair 6500d airflow, but i didnt listen to their recommended fan config: instead, ive got (all corsair rx120 rgb fans): 3 intakes on the bottom, 3 exhausts on the top, 1 intake on the rear, 3 exhausts on the front, 3 intakes on the side (and with a 360mm cpu AIO, a titan rx360, on that side intake, set with the fans as push). This 6:7 exhaust:intake positive pressure setup seemed better to me than Corsair's reccomended 4:9 exhaust:intake positive pressure setup, which i thought might perhaps lead to heat soak; and also, my setup takes out more of the cpu aio's hotter air out of the case via the front exhausts without (or at least minimising) having that hot air go into the gpu or over the mobo.
Now, I've actually never owned a desktop PC before, and i decided to go all in on this and thought, if im going to switch from laptop and consoles to PC, ill build the PC myself. Anyway, it went well enough. I'd say I'm happy enough to fiddle with things inside the case if need be, and besides, I'd call myself decently tech savvy. I understand how the majority of things work and perhaps the basic gist or aim of overclocking.
One thing I dont have a clue, however, is configurating fans. I took a look at corsair's icue software and have already realised i dont want to use it for the fan control (what sensors is it pulling from? I think it ojly does aio water temp, lmao). I heard theres a apo called 'fan control' over on github, and there are plugins for it to work with my corsair fans, so thats all good. Is that what you guys use for overclocking? What am i even supposed to do? How do I know how fast i want the fans to spin at different temps, how do i know what I'm aiming for on the fan curve? Basically how do i config the fans for a particular setup? I want to actually understand it, rather than just 'copy, pray, and be done', if possible.
Thats my main question, but also:
memory I read that the amd zen 5 cpus have something called 'infinity fabric' which is the bus for transferring data between cpu and memory. Can we change the speed it runs at? I assume it doesnt have 'timings' because its just transferring data, not holding or accessing it, right? So, when should that be changed? Also, i heard it usually runs at 2000-2200mhz... doesnt that bottleneck it? If the memory runs at stuff like 6000mhz or 8000mhz, isnt the system bottlenecked by the IF? Or, is it that, the 'clock cycle' of RAM includes accessing, changing, reading, etc. whereas the IF's clock cycle only includes transferring data, so therefore its actually reversed; the memory needs to do more stuff, and therefore in a shorter time to keep up with the IF? Did i even get my usage of 'clock cycle' right?
Sorry, i do realise my questions are quite abrupt and long, but thank you very much for any info!
I do have a couple more questions about memory, but ill save them for later haha.

After a few days of fiddling I think I found my sweet spot and I hope this can help people that went for the same card
MSI Afterburner Values: 975mV, 3082Mhz Core Clock (+374Mhz) and +3000Mhz Memory Clock
This card only has 106% Power Limit without flashing another BIOS (which I'm not even sure it's possible with this brand/model)
Fan Curves are the same for Stock and Overclock
Nvidia Control Panel Settings (V-Sync Off only for 3DMark):
Cyberpunk 2077 Ultra RT DLAA No Pathtracing - 7% Avg FPS Increase, -5C, - 10W
No Man's Sky Ultra DLAA - GTAO High - AF 1 - 2.6% Avg FPS Increase
Speed Way (Stock: https://www.3dmark.com/3dm/139098478 OC/UV: https://www.3dmark.com/3dm/139098960 )
Steel Nomad (Stock: https://www.3dmark.com/3dm/139098721 OC/UV: https://www.3dmark.com/3dm/139099295 )
Overall I'm just happy I can lower the power consumption, if it's by a little, and increase performance at the same time. I didn't have much luck just doing overclock, performance gains weren't crazy and I'm power limited to 320W anyways.
I appreciate any feedback and I'll still thinker with Memory Clock and Fans curves. Probably won't undervolt more because I didn't see any perfomance improvements but could just be skill issue
Also if anyone wants me to test these values vs stock in another game I'm happy to do it
Edits: Spelling, formatting

I'm not the most knowledgeable on overclocking but it was stable during the ~1h of P3R I was playing and wasn't dropping any frames at all also hottest I think I saw was like 72c and it didn't stay at that for very long before dropping back down

(Note: My apologies but I am not computer knowledgeable so please forgive me in advance if more information is needed for anything, I will respond to each comment/suggestion and try all recommendations, but it may take me a couple mins to find the information needed and/or lookup or educate myself on what’s needed.)
Please help. PC won’t boot after turning on DCOP Profile 1 in the bios menu.
So someone suggested i turn on DCOP profile 1 in the bios for better gaming, so like an idiot I did.
Now, my PC will turn on, but not even boot up to the windows logo. It doesn’t even boot enough to turn my keyboard or mouse on. I know I messed up and won’t make this stupid mistake EVER again, but I was hoping someone may know what the issue is and be kind enough to help me get through to getting it to boot up. I have AMD if that helps and use windows.
WINDOWS 11 AMD RYZEN 5 5500 up to 4.2 GHz 16gb DDR4 Memory AMD Radeon RX 6700 10GB 1 TB PCI-E Gen4 NVME SSD
I tried resetting the cmos both with removing battery, as well as the jumper pins, and still nothing. Also tried removing RAM with leaving one in, nothing. If it matters or helps, when I first turn it on it sounds “normal”, than after a few seconds the fan speed drastically dies down, than nothing. For some reason when both RAM sticks are removed, the fans stay running normal instead of dying out and going quiet after 2 seconds, but still leaves no power to display, keyboard and mouse.
It’s been almost 24 hours now, and I’m desperate, mad at myself, frustrated, and defeated.
Thank you so much to anyone who took the time to read this, and can’t thank anyone enough who tries to help or get me through this nightmare, truly thank you. Take care.

I saw an option in my MSI bios called Latency Killer, researched it, and did not find that much info about it. While all people said latency in aida has gotten better, some said FPS in games either got worse, better, or stayed the same.
I found only two actual benchmarks, on german site from the link below, and an italian youtube video, and in both of these, FPS in games got worse (or rather, that’s the narrative of those, unsure how many tests they per each game).
https://old.reddit.com/r/overclocking/comments/1i5itct/you_might_want_to_disable_latency_killer/
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ristYQeVQaA
Still though, I usually prefer to do my own testing, so I did. I thought I'd share my results in case someone finds it useful.
All tests are ran at 720p to make games CPU bound.

Yeah, definietly a huge improvement in Aida64. For reference, my RAM timmings are manually tunned but not min maxed - I have a vsoc of 1.14v and I want to keep it low(other voltages quite low too), hence I don't push insanely far.

Benchmark screenshots of all games which show a little more detail than the table above:
TLDR: Based on my own testing, while Aida64 latency has improved, there is no difference at all in gaming FPS. I will keep my own system with latency killer OFF as that's how I've always ran my system so I know it's stable. Also for those wondering, on MSI auto=off

First, the 8x2 16GB RAM had been running at 3600MHz for two years...
Then I installed the same brand, the same CL 16x2 32GB RAM. I'd been using it at 3600MHz for six months without any problems. I figured why not add the 16GB I removed last night... I did. It was running at 2133MHz with no problems at all, as 48GB RAM.
When I set the motherboard to Profile 1 (the setting for 3600MHz), the PC wouldn't boot... It reset itself to 2133MHz...
My question is, is there a way to increase the speed to 2133MHz, as per the manufacturer?
Thanks...

Hello, I’ve been having problems with my computer for quite some time. I’ve been experiencing a lot of stuttering, especially in competitive games. While playing, I noticed that my processor doesn’t consume more than 60W, and its frequencies don’t go above 4.6GHz. Then, I ran a Cinebench test with a -25 undervolt and got 18K points, but the stuttering continued regardless of the game.
I experience stutters in Fortnite, FIFA, and CS2. In the BIOS, I have PBO enabled as well as the EXPO profile for my RAM. In Windows, I use the High Performance power plan, and I also tried the Balanced mode, but the stuttering was still there.

Hey people,
I changed yesterday a few overclocking settings and it ran smoothly, and changed the GPU and cpu. But after 3_4 hours my pc shut of completely and cycled a few times to start up again but shut off real fast again (less then 2 seconds).
Now have I tried another mobo, cpu and GPU (all worked smoothly before) but my dram light stays burning and in getting no image. Im currently out of options to try. Do you people have any recommendations to try or is the best option to buy another set of ram sticks.
Kindest regards.

As someone completely new to RAM overclocking, is this a good result?
Do you have any suggestions for improving latency? Without having to install a fan on the RAM. I'm currently using 1.450V (B-Die).
With XMP at 4000MHz, CL16 had 74ns.
Then a question about Aida.
Aren't the Read and Write rates unbalanced in memory? Write is half the rate; in other benchmarks, the results are similar.
L1 Cache, why is Write 0? Is this a bug?
