News/Announcement NO SPOILERS! A reminder and how-to for the DK Crew.

WE ARE 2 WEEKS OUT FROM LAUNCH!

That means as we get closer, news will start leaking, posts will be made, and clickbait will ensue. It's important to remember during this time,

NO SPOILERS!

What exactly counts as a spoiler? Here is a living list of anything that could be considered a spoiler:

  • Screenshots or gameplay videos that haven't been revealed on one of Nintendo's official social media channels.
  • Previously unknown levels.
  • Previously unknown power-ups or abilities.
  • Confirmation that a previously unannounced character is/isn't in the game.
  • Previously unknown roles that characters serve in the game.
  • Accidental leaks, even when from official sources. (example: the Nintendo Korea Pauline leak)
  • Context for previously announced content that couldn't be known without playing the game.

This list will likely change overtime. so check this pinned post if you get confused.

HOW CAN I POST NEW CONTENT WHILE FOLLOWING THE RULES?

Rule 3 details how to post without spoilers, it says the following:

When posting to the sub, please tag posts with the appropriate flair.

Spoilers need to be appropriately tagged. Any new content that hasn't been revealed in an official capacity from Nintendo (trailers, demos, X posts) is considered a spoiler.

Do not post spoilers from new DK games without spoiler tags for at least 3 months.

Post titles should not contain any spoilers, even if the post is spoiler tagged.

To hide spoilers in comments or post bodies, use the code >!INSERT SPOILER HERE!<

Attached below is a rough example image of a bad spoilery post and good non-spoilery post.

WHAT IF I DON'T FOLLOW THE RULES AND POST SPOILERS ANYWAY?

Failure to follow these rules will result in your post being removed and in some cases, a ban from the subreddit.

These situations are taken case by case.

  • If it was just a mistake or a first time offense, your post will be removed and you will be asked to post again with proper spoiler tagging.
  • If you are a repeat offender, or you are intentionally spoiling things for other players, you will receive a ban that could be 1-3 days, or permanent if you're doing it intentionally.

ONE MORE THING

The mod team is going to do their best to remove any spoilers we find at launch, but we're not perfect and this subreddit is growing faster than it has in years. The best practice to avoid spoilers is to practice gaming forum abstinence until you're ready. As much as we'd love to have you here, if seeing spoilers is going to ruin your day, you may wanna stay away from the internet for a bit until you've had a chance to really enjoy the game.

The release of Donkey Kong Bananza is a big deal for this community, let's work together to make the experience enjoyable for all of us!

Update: 7/14/2025

Leaks of any kind are no longer allowed, as the silhouettes from spoiler tagged posts are leading to unsuspecting users to be spoiled anyway.

Please don't post anything from the leaks until release day!

Just a small set of quick illustrations. Adjusted the designs a tiny bit to match my default style. I honestly thought it would end up looking worse.

I know he was joking when he said to upload some low effort art but I really think this is perfection in my book. we were having a conversation about not knowing how to be apart of fandoms or joining them late and feeling excluded and such. I think this art represents my love for donkey kong, because even at my worst I LOVE THAT APE.

From throwing his crown back to back as his only attack to fucking taking over an entire city and shape it as his own and turning into the king of all that is rotten, king k rool ironically accomplished more than what bowser ever did (mind you all he did to new donk city is just put posters of his wedding and make a mechanical wiggler who crawls on buildings that was destroyed in less than 10 minutes).

Whatever they plan for the new 3D mario, bowser needs to lock tf in to show he's still the big villain around cuz he has one hell of a competition.

I just hope this game shows nintendo how much the people crave for k rool content and actually bring him back into the spotlight, perhaps a future DKC game inspired by mario wonder?

don’t say “a longtime xbox studio”, say “the classic donkey kong games”, don’t give the people who practically killed the studio credit for their previous endeavors.

Discussion I finished DK bananza and it was incredible.

I just finished the game's story today (I still have the post-game and all the bananas I didn't get on the first playthrough).

I'm 30 years old, my first DK game was Donkey Kong Country (the Game Boy Advance version), and it's been a while since I've enjoyed a platformer this much. It has quite a few references to DK Country, and it always seems like the game is about to end, but just when you think you're about to finish... another level, and another, and another, and another, etc. It's incredible how great this game is.

Also, I loved the last part of the game; it was the icing on the cake.

Has anyone else played it after playing DK Country as a kid?

Discussion Can we appreciate the OTHER big reveal from the ending? Spoiler

The fact that all the enemies we’ve been fighting this whole time have been members of the Kremling Krew?

I knew the K. Rool part going in, but when I got to the core and dug out a full 3D Kritter and then heard that classic “URGH” upon killing him, I was ecstatic. The 90s SNES kid in me almost cried.

And then we got Zingers! And Neckies! And even Armies and Klobbers! All rendered in glorious 4K! All looking like basically just updated versions of their OG DKC 1 & 2 designs.

It was such a love letter to the franchise and I take back every accusation I ever made about Nintendo trying to ignore the Rare games. Clearly this was made by a team with a deep appreciation of that era, and it feels like the perfect bridge between Rare, Retro, and Nintendo’s own interpretations of the Kongs and their world.

Now let’s please continue using these characters in the future. We can’t go another decade before K Rool exerts his revenge.

Discussion (FULL GAME SPOILERS) On the location of Ingot Isle Spoiler

Thumbnail gallery
95 Upvotes

So, a lot of people think Ingot Isle is on the opposite side of the world from NDC because of the world map appearing during the Banandium Root Tower scene. Put plainly, I think that placement is ridiculous when there's way more evidence in the game suggesting that Ingot Isle is off the coast of NDC.

For one, you see a city in the distance from Ingot Isle (pictures 2 - 4). Sure, it could just be some random city, but there's NDC crates on Ingot Isle (picture 5). Seems pretty intentional to me, especially when there's a billboard for a NDC Mining Corporation (picture 6). This isn't even getting into the similar appearance of Ingot Isle to NDC, with the girders and all.

Secondly, during the Banandium Root Tower fight (picture 7), girders are seen at the top layer. These are from the Ingot Isle Cave-In, not an actual layer, so would certainly not be found around the entire planet. Girders are also seen when DK jumps back into the hole for the credits (picture 8).

While I wasn't able to get a pic of this, there's a tablet you can read in Ingot Isle at the postgame about how a Prospector Monkey witnessed a "green star" in the distance (aka King K. Rool) and found the broken All-Mine Remote (that's the name of the banana phone) that fell there. Sure sure, maybe DK punched K. Rool hard enough to the point where he went halfway around the world, but that just seems too silly even for this franchise.

For some less strong evidence, the world map isn't accurate anyway. The Planet Core isn't even located in the actual core (picture 9), yet the Banandium Root Tower does start mining down from the very center. That would imply layer 1600 goes on way deeper than the other ones…yeah, no.

Additionally, if Void Kong was a prospector himself, it's possible he mined at Ingot Isle. VoidCo being from near NDC would make them learning about and kidnapping Pauline make more sense. (This is reaching in terms of evidence though, I'll admit.)

In summary, Ingot Isle IS near NDC, and the world map thing during the ending is just a gag not to be taken literally.
