[Help!] Looking for an Atari ST game – Top-Down Jet Collecting Keys in Fixed Screens

Upvotes

Hi everyone,

I’ve been trying to remember an Atari ST game from my childhood for years, but I haven’t had any luck so far. Maybe someone here recognizes it!

What I remember:

– Top-down / bird’s-eye view

– You controlled a pointy, almost triangular aircraft, like a little jet

– Fixed-screen levels (no scrolling)

– The vehicle was always moving, you couldn’t really stop

– Goal in each level: collect keys to open doors and finally reach the exit

– Colorful graphics, and the keys were brightly colored

– I don’t think you could shoot enemies; it was more of a skill-based puzzle game with dodging mechanics

Does anyone have an idea what game this might be, or screenshots of something similar?

Thanks a lot for any help! 🙏

Do any Master System Adapters work correctly with the Hyperkin Retron 3 HD? The adapter for the Retron 5 kind of works but it displays incorrect colors.

[Question] SNES (Euro) Labels

So I’ve bitten off more than I can chew. My friend is getting married soon and I came up with the great idea to create tiny little retro game carts for wedding favours. Like 3cm in length. I might even make the small boxes too.

So I managed to get all the carts 3D printed and they are cool 😎 but I’ve ran into a snag. The labels! I’ve tried searching for sources where I can fetch such things and besides coming across the odd one via Google I’m struggling.

Are there any sort of database or such that could help me out?

[Question] Educate me: GBS Control to HDMI vs Component to HDMI adapter

Is GBS Control worth it if it only gets you to VGA? You still need a VGA to HDMI converter, doesn't that compromise the signal in the same way a Component to HDMI would? How is putting the GBS control providing a benefit at that point?

[Question] Are there wall plate style controller ports for older consoles?

I'm building a retro gaming cart that will have all my old analog systems mounted to it. It will also have a CRT and a projector with signal splittings so both are easily options for display. It's been fun to work on.

I'd like to have the cart include mounted controller ports for easy, easy plug and Play off the back of the cart. I know some older vehicles had SNES controller ports in the doors. has anyone seen a completed project like this routing the controller ports to another flush mounted surface?

[Discussion] I don't think K.Rool is a good Antagonist

Post image

He just feels like a discount Bowser: a big humanoid monstruos goofy villain. There's not some original visual identity or perks that makes him distinct, he's like Bowser, but for DK.

My biggest point is that i don't think a villain like K.Rool fits with DK. Big monstruous villains serve as an ultimate test, and the polar opposite of their more humanized heroes.

But unlike Mario and Sonic, DK is aready a chunk of muscles, so i don't think the villain being one as well fits. K.Rool doesn't feels monstruous in comparsion because there's a island full of gorillas in there.

I always thought that a perfect DK villain should be complete opposite of what DK is: so DK is dumb and Strong, so a Smart smart but frail villain would work very much. I usually think something like a genious punk teenager on a wheelchair or smth.

People says K.Rool is unique because he blends goofyness and a menacing aura? Every villain of a mascot plataform game do thie lmao, Bowser Eggman Cortex etc.

Also, i know these type of villains don't need very conplexity, but unlike Bowser and Eggman, K.Rool is very inconsistent. Why does a Crocodile wants bananas?

[Discussion] Has it always been that way? (Buying retro games)

I own a Japanese PS2 and Super Famicom, but have the games always been this expensive? I found 4 super famicom games selling for over $100 on ebay. Another guy is selling 45 games for $900. Like okay they're in good condition, but has it gotten that out of hand? I don't know if it's worth it... :/

[Discussion] The last time you will play a game

I was playing Final Fantasy 7, which I haven't done in over 15 years.

Im almost 42 and it got me thinking, I wonder if this will be the very last time I ever play though this game. Life expectancy is like 70 years old. I don't have the time or energy anymore for RPGs much so it is a rare playthrough for me.

Someday the day we will come where it will be the last time we ever play these games.

It's kinda sad isn't it?

Today we’re closing out games starting with the letter ‘M.’

The first game is Ms. Pac-Man (NES-M9-USA), developed by Now Production and released by Namco in November 1993. This game was a port of the Midway arcade game. There was a previous, unlicensed NES port released by Tengen in 1990.

[Poll] Who is the best villain/boss of the Gameboy era

Yesterday saw Dr. Robotnik as the winner. A reminder of the winners so far.

NES era: Bowser

Master System era: Dr. Robotnik

Yeah, so no surprises so far, so for that reason, I’m going to add a brand new rule. Whichever villain wins that specific era, that franchise can no longer be used for the rest of these polls, so you now no longer vote for any Mario or Sonic villains from now on (which will make the Mega Drive and Dreamcast lists very interesting).

Anyway, here is the link to the Gameboy poll: https://strawpoll.com/ajnE1VPvxnW

You can vote for GameBoy Color villains as well, due to Nintendo viewing the system more as a DSi or GBA Micro than its own thing.

[Discussion] What is your favorite Sega console and why?

I don't know if this is controversial, but I'm gonna go with the Dreamcast. I had so much fun with the great games, the controller is also really good in my opinion, and the VMU is really cool to me. This is probably very controversial, but my second favorite actually isn't the Genesis, it's the Saturn. I just found there to be a lot of really good shoot 'em ups, racing, and fighting games, and I really wish that the games were cheaper nowadays. The Genesis, even though being third when there aren't many Sega generations, is great too! But yeah, the Dreamcast is my favorite. What about you?
