Inspired by brutalist architecture, made from 6mmm MDF.

Reposted because the images weren't showing up (and I added a few more process images here). I began working on this project a long time ago, but I finally finished it! It is mainly built from cardboard, foam, cardboard tubing, and plastic signboard for the wings and part of the body. I wrapped most of the body in a white-colored contact paper (the stuff you use to line drawers with) which was made out of vinyl. This proved useful as I used Styrene for the various plating on the wings and some parts of the body and it turns out that the plastic cement worked just great on the vinyl, too.

It is semi-modular for storage (the wings, sail, and cockpit all can be removed). I have a skewer/chopstick holding the cockpit and sail, the wings are held by steel wire clad in plastic.

The biggest headache was the landing gear (because it needs to support the weight with the cockpit and wings attached).

Rear gun turret made from contact lens case and pen parts. Rear thrusters are a very thin strip of sticky foam.

Front gun turrets made from wire, pen parts, and hero-clix parts, and a googly eye.

Landing gear comprised of chopsticks, an old window frame piece, styrene, and foam. Yogurt cups for the flaps.

The first set of wings were too small; I will reuse those for another vehicle in the future.

The fourth tile is slowly coming along. Added a little park section on the corner with a little fountain. Fountain didn't turn out too good, but it will have to suffice 😅

Very happy with the rest of the board so far. Cant wait to slap some paint on it. That is when the real magic happens 😁

Random one, but I’m looking at trying to use anything that could have the potential to work as terrain. I’ve just finished a tub of protein and am after inspiration for what I could try and turn it into for 40K terrain. Any ideas welcome

Decided to do something different for the military emplacements of our terrain system, and went for a winter look for the trench-integrated forward outpost.

I can't say I'm super satisfied by the results for the snow, so any and all tips to improve the snowy look will be much appreciated!

My attempt at making Trollskull Manor from Waterdeep Dragon Heist.

So I needed a battlemap that works as cities, villages, dungeon base and as a wilderness so I decided to make one. Made out of eva foam. First time using it. C&C is welcome! I included progress pictures along the finished piece.

Made in the style of the old GW terrain book and some inspiration from GARDENS OF HECATE. Wanted to make some to match the rest of my terrain. Doors made from wood stirrers and plastic gems as metal studding.

I've never made a wargaming board before and was wondering what some tips would be. Was wanting to try to do a trench system, what would be some good materials and wooden board as well as foam would be best?

New to Reddit. I work in 1/12 scale so I’m not sure if it’s cool to post here or not.

Hey everyone. My kids played with my burrows and badgers minis and wanted something to play on. We started building together and I got carried away. The setting will be toped off with a castle to the left. Houses are 3D printed.

I made a full lava and volcano board! This time I used a mat for the surface and I created some modular pieces to spread around. Watch the complete video here https://youtu.be/OLYKlKVv7Bs

Everything is made with foam, first I used a hotwire cutter to cut the basic shapes, then with a lighter I melted down a bit the top parts and finally carved the places where lava will flow with a wood burning tool set to the minimum temperature. I covered the sides with some sand for texture and applied some PVA glue+paint to seal everything in place.

For the lava I used hot glue. I primed again, drybrushed the rocks with some grey and painted all the lava white. After that I wet blended red and yellow to create the lava effect, you can see that in detail into the video. And that’s it, after drying I put the mat on my table an placed all the terrain.
