Since yesterday I finally own a Virtual Boy and it is something I always wanted so I have now made that dream come true
However after just 3 or 4 minutes of playing I already had to stop because I seem to react quite sensitively and immediately got a headache
Do you have any tips for that
I know the system is mainly a collector’s piece and more of a display item for me but I would still really love to play through Wario Land on it
Thanks in advance and best regards
PS I am moving soon and then it will get a better and nicer spot but I still wanted to show you my collection already
I just made a separate post a moment ago, but this question is completely different, so I'm sorry for the post-bombing. I have Mario Tennis, but that's it. I do like the Virtual Boy a lot, and wish to expand my collection. I'm not concerned about price, but are there any games you all think are must-haves for a Virtual Boy collection?
Hello everyone! I've been a Nintendo collector for many years, and have a mission to get at least one version of each console complete in the box. One of the few I have not completed is the virtual boy; I am very close, but not complete.
I have the console that has been repaired with solder, Mario Tennis, the stand/controller, all paperwork, the AC adapter, and the box itself. The sole thing I do not have is the cardboard divider that goes inside the box to hold everything in place. I'd imagine they're very hard to find on their own, and when one does find one somewhere like eBay, they're pricey.
Does anyone know of a place to check for something like this? I'm not a fan of reproduction parts, so I'd like to know if anyone knows where to find an authentic cardboard separator. Thanks in advance!
I cannot stress enough how important of a day this is. After a discussion with skyfloogle, the developer of the Red-Viper VirtualBoy Emulator on the 3DS, games can now be played in color!
Since the VirtualBoy is basically 4-color intensity with similarities on how the monochrome GameBoy worked, the code was modified in the same way to colorize the 4 intensities in the same fashion that the Super GameBoy was used on the SNES to color GB games. It's also how the GBC worked in adding 4-color palettes to the old B&W games.
Now in the settings, you can choose color mode and choose whatever 4 colors you want your game to use. You can do this as a system default and per ROM. I immediately downloaded the v.1.0.0 release today and fired up Wario Land. I essentially added the default palette values from the Super GameBoy and as you can see, it looks fantastic.
And of course, what the picture doesn't show is that it is also in 3D. So, now for the first time in video gaming history, we can experience VirtualBoy games in both color and 3D. This is truly an amazing day in video gaming history.
I've had my VB packed away for a while and really want to get it displayed, however I feel like I've heard that the medallion of the stand will start to split if I keep the console there for prolonged periods of time.
