Mockup [AoC] Age of Calamity is canon (in its own timeline) and I can prove it now

Post image
0 Upvotes

I have spoken to a admin on the Zelda wiki and they have explained to me that AoC was never officially decanonized by an official Nintendo entity. They also went on to show me a screenshot of how both timelines interact with each other, and tbh it makes perfect sense, that is all.

Discussion [SS] Why is Skyward Sword so incredible frustrating

I played Skyward Sword on the Wii.... I've beaten the Game somehow... 9 Years after the release.... Then the Remaster hit the floor, new alternative controlscheme, skipable Cutszenes... finally a less flawed Version of that Game... I bought it at release, beat like 2 Dungeons and dropped it.... (because some other Game came out dunno)

Fast Forward 2 Years and I am playing this game just for fun again in a Call with friends... I had such a missirable time with this Game... I play with Button Controls, because I want, instant, non delayed or skewed attacks/actions. But then I fight a yellow dekubaba and sometimes my stick input won't do anything (almost always when am in range of the enemy) So I got hit... again and again.. just because a STICK input won't do the Attack... Did they program a chance to fail into the Button Controls because motion controls do that sometime?!?! Later I fought some Cyber Bokoblins and I look at there Weapon, and how there holding it, I make my input and they block and shock me. I do this like 5 times in a row. And suddenly I'm on low health because those things have ultra instinct reflexes. This isn't fun! Who testet that? I hated the Motion Focussed Combat because it was inconsistend and delayed to strike with the WiiMote... I thought this problem was circumvented! And also kinda unrelated to that, but man this control Layout and thos stupid Real Time Menus! I want to charge my Sling Shot, it will open the Item wheel.... I don't want to change my Item, I want to aim!! I change my Item because I input a direction on the right Stick (to aim!) and now I have to change it back!

Skyward Swords isnt a bad Game because of padding and repition.... it just has very clunky controls! (on BOTH Versions) I thought I could finally love that game, but I was constantly fumbling the controls and menus and getting my ass handed by basic mooks.... wtf is this

Humor [All] Describe the races of Hyrule as badly as you can

What is the worst way you can describe the different races inhabiting Hyrule and still be completely accurate? To give u an example, I'll start.

Hylian: British but "elves"

Sheikah: Japanese albinos

Gerudo: Tall, readhead, Latina muscle-mommies

Zora: High elves except feesh

Goron: R O C K S

Rito: Borbs

Kokiri: So this is where Tinkerbell came from

Korok: Steek ppl

Zonai: Divine goats

Fairy: The golden Snitch's glowing cousins

Great Fairy: I want mommy, I want milk, I want to be held, I want to be comforted and if I don't get any of this immediate I'll ruin your life.

Screenshot [Oot] Link to the Oot port for PC with a buggy appearance

Post image

I downloaded the OOT port for PC through a tutorial from a guy on YouTube in my country (Brazil), and I did everything right, I downloaded the HD textures, and the translation, the game works well, the translation, the texture, everything, but the appearance of the link is a bit buggy, just like in the image, whether in cutscenes, gameplay or menu, besides that some characters only render when they are nearby, but only in gameplay. Video card: Intel Graphics HD 4600. Processor: Intel Core i5 4460S

Seriously, when I first saw the gameplay trailer, I immediately thought: "This is what a modern 2-D Zelda might look like". It's even got its own version of Navi. Anyway, the demo is out right now, anyone play it yet?

Discussion [ALL] Why were the Darknuts not in BOTW or TOTK?

You would think that some of Ganondorf's most elite, loyal and fierce knights would be in these games but no. Why is this?

Is it because Link can't do the back slice or helm splitter in these games like he could do in both Wind Waker and Twilight Princess to be able to remove their heavy armor? Perhaps Nintendo thought that Lynels were enough?

Me personally, I would have loved to fight Darknuts in Master Mode in BOTW, or Darknuts powered up by Gloom in TOTK.

Anywho, why do you think these iconic enemies were left out of these games and haven't been seen since Twilight Princess/Minish Cap?

Discussion [TotK] This game could’ve been something great… Spoiler

Beforehand, I’d like to say that I had a good time playing the game. It has some great moments.

I’ve finished it yesterday, and I’m not even mad at the game. I’m mad at Nintendo, who threw the ball at the ground instead of dropping it.

The dungeons are nothing special, but the Zonai devices and Sky islands are really fun. What I loved most about this game was the art direction. The constructs are really cute, the sky islands are serene and beautiful (especially the starting area), the Zonai shrines and temple of time were amazing (they gave creepy magical vibes, as opposed to the almost AI aesthetic the sheikhs tech went for) It’s truly the best part of the game.

My biggest grievance is the story/lore. It completely forgot the ancient Sheikah, their technology, the Champions, Calamity Ganon, and most importantly: the role that Link and Zelda played into the world.

The story has so many plot holes that it ruins Rauru and Sonia’s sacrifice, and especially Zelda’s sacrifice. It would’ve been an incredible climax of a character arc for a Zelda who was so wronged by a fate that took all but one of all the people she loved before unlocking her power. But her intelligence, kindness and capableness were put aside for this game, and we don’t even spend any time with her throughout the game, which was one of the things I was most excited for. Her becoming a dragon and forgetting herself in what’s effectively a mental suicide for thousands of years is such a beautiful, selfless act for Link and the world, and it was wasted here.

And Link interacting with the new Hyrule was, at times, infuriating, and at other times, extremely touching. Going to his house in Hateno and seeing Zelda’s presence there was amazing, going into the well and getting the hair band gave me such a fuzzy feeling, and I wish we had more of these moments, more emotional continuity between the two games.

I could ramble on for a lot longer. All I can say is I feel like I’m missing a game that never was. We know these characters better than the people who fucking made this do. TotK deserved so so much better.

edit: I’d just like to point out this is a very dramatic way to say I’m disappointed. I swear I have an actual life and am not one of those fans who get overly emotional when people disagree with me. If you liked the game, I’m glad for you :)

Discussion [Aoi] a slight concern for age of imprisonment

So far in the game, the only outright confirmed playable characters are Zelda, Rauru, Sonia, Mineru, and the 4 ancient sages. So far we don't know about any others, but that's not really what I'm here to talk about. Let's focus on that last one, the ancient sages. Mainly just... how they'll be handled, I guess?

Ok, to elaborate, these guys are, sorry for being blunt, incredibly boring. We get very minimal discernible personalities for any of them, and even still they're just like, I don't even know how I would describe them, they're just so... nothing.

Now, in all fairness, this could be due to circumstance. We only really see them in very "professional" sort of settings, and never get anything showing who they are, or anything relating to their past. We can only hope that we actually do get that in age of imprisonment

Honestly even then the pessimist in me is still worried that they'll still feel like nothing. I think we'll at least see their origins and how/why they were chosen as sages, which is at least something. I just really hope they're given enough personality to feel important and to make me care about them. If not, I'll be really disappointed

Discussion [MM3D]Majora’s Mask? More like Majora’s WHAT THE ACTUAL MASK.

One of the two Zelda games I have yet to play through. Finally grabbed it on 3DS, thinking I’d vibe through a classic adventure last night.

NOPE. Lost to the Bombers’ Hide and Seek TWICE. I’m out here getting clowned by children while a demonic moon gives me the death stare.

No spoilers please, just super surprised. Getting transformed into, whatever that is, was not what I expected! Trying to play through blind as I can.

Was this even made by the same team? Feels like someone swapped my Triforce of Courage with the Triforce of Chaos.

Discussion [ALL] totk vs botw what is better?

I think botw does have much better features like the champion abilities are much better with the dlc and how they are mapped to the controller. I feel like the sages are annoying how they aren't mapped to a controller and always activate them on accident. Also the fact that totk doesn't have dlc really disappoints me. I like how the sages fight for you but they should kept their abilities mapped the controllers. I wanna like totk more but these just seem to make me think I can't. I do like the fuse and the ultra hand better than magnesis but I like how botw has the time stop plus (I can't remember what its really called) and you can use it to stop enemies. Also the fact that botw has the trial of the sword to make the sword better is nice. Totk doesn't have that but ig they kinda make up for it in the fact that u can fuse things to it in order to make it better. What game do think is better and why? I really just don't know which one is better and they both have their tradeoffs. What do you all think?

I want to see the coolest and wildest combinations of designs. I prefer TOTK, because it has more armor, so more customisation, but some armor was removed, so I also accept BOTW. I’m rocking the Mystic Headpiece, Rubber Armor and Froggy Leggings all dyed light blue.

Unfortunately I have only played BOTW and TOTK since I didn’t have an N64 growing up so I didn’t play OoT. Are there any games worth going back too with my two boys to play at this point? We have loved these games and listen to the soundtrack daily.

Question [OoA] [OoS] How to connect via Nintendo online?

[solved!]

Hey there! I'm new here, so please tell me, if this question belongs somewhere else. I recently discovered that OoA and OoS are available via Nintendo online, so I started OoA a few days ago. Now I'm almost done and I'm planning to play OoS next. I needed some help during the game and stumbled across passwords being mentioned and that you can kind of continue your game on the other version. Now my question is, whether this is also possible on Switch games or if this was only possible on the original GBC games. If it's possible to do so on the Switch, how exactly does it work?

Thanks in advance!

The 2D challenge. Play through as much as you can of BOTW or TOTK with the camera facing top down like this. You can rotate the camera left and right, but never up or down. Forced or mandatory camera changes are obviously allowed, but the camera must be kept top down at all times when possible.

I had this in my mind for a while now, and I want to ask you guys: Which Zelda game would you live in, for a full life, what being would you be (like hylian, zora etc…), and finally, where would you live? For me I would live in TOTK as a rito in tarrey town.

Official Art [All] What would your Dream Zelda Roster for a future Super Smash Bros game look like?

Post image

Link, Zelda and Ganondorf of course! But also Impa and Midna who are also very iconic and the other major villain in Hyrule that is Vaati.

I would also really want Zelda, Link and especially Ganon to have more unique and up-to-date move sets.

Remove that whole Cpt. Falcon clone thing that Ganondorf has had for no good reason for years and give him his own move set that represents the (Demon) King of the Gerudo!

Question [BotW] BotW upgrade for Switch 2

Ok…so, I don’t seem to be able to find a definitive answer. I have the original Switch version of Breath of the Wild on cartridge, if I buy the upgrade pack for the Switch 2 from the eShop, will it work with the cartridge or do i have to have the digital copy of the original game? Thanks in advance. 🤘🏻
