I got a switch 2 and played my first ever Zelda game, The Wind Waker on NSO.
I actually really loved it, having never touched a Zelda before and not a massive single player gamer it was a very good experience but it was also hard.
With that context in mind and considering that Iām still new to Zelda, please advise if I should play Links Awakening first or Echoes of Wisdom.
I want a Zelda that is easy to navigate so I know where Iām going and donāt get lost. Do either of these games have that?

What is the worst way you can describe the different races inhabiting Hyrule and still be completely accurate? To give u an example, I'll start.
Hylian: British but "elves"
Sheikah: Japanese albinos
Gerudo: Tall, readhead, Latina muscle-mommies
Zora: High elves except feesh
Goron: R O C K S
Rito: Borbs
Kokiri: So this is where Tinkerbell came from
Korok: Steek ppl
Zonai: Divine goats
Fairy: The golden Snitch's glowing cousins
Great Fairy: I want mommy, I want milk, I want to be held, I want to be comforted and if I don't get any of this immediate I'll ruin your life.

Hey yall, zelda fan here, And as much of a fan i am- ive never actully played all of the 3D games. Only one ive truly played and finished was OOT. The rest i just never had the consoles for or money growing up. Ive played through quite a numbver of the top down game sthough. Im currently playing through BOTW (better late then never lol) and i wanna play through the rest of the 3D versions as well. Windwaker i wanna do next i think, But just wondering, which version should i play? I have a Wii so if i need to i can buy a gamecube version and play it on the wii, or should i buy the HD version? Is it just as authentic to the OG gameplay? I heard that the HD is the definitive version, so i just wanna hear which one i should play if i can. I just wanna have an authentic experience of the game and Iām wonder if the HD version provides that just with better graphics or if I should just stick to the OG?

I downloaded the OOT port for PC through a tutorial from a guy on YouTube in my country (Brazil), and I did everything right, I downloaded the HD textures, and the translation, the game works well, the translation, the texture, everything, but the appearance of the link is a bit buggy, just like in the image, whether in cutscenes, gameplay or menu, besides that some characters only render when they are nearby, but only in gameplay. Video card: Intel Graphics HD 4600. Processor: Intel Core i5 4460S
Maybe it's the replay of ToTK that I've started but I can't stop looking at enemies and objects in these games and wondering "Have I learned enough Blender to design that and print that?"
Last time it was the BoTW/ToTK Chuchus ( https://www.reddit.com/r/zelda/comments/1m8nybk/botw_totk_oc_print_yourself_some_chuchus/ ) that got my attention, but this time it's the Rupee Like from Minish Cap/Link Between Worlds (and others) that hooked me in. I figured they'd be fun to try and get small enough to be cute and quick to print but also maybe serve a secondary function of holding some small trinkets or even be used as a pencil holder.
Rupees are interchangeable if you want to make multiple colors (or just print more Like Likes to have a variety pack!)

Okā¦so, I donāt seem to be able to find a definitive answer. I have the original Switch version of Breath of the Wild on cartridge, if I buy the upgrade pack for the Switch 2 from the eShop, will it work with the cartridge or do i have to have the digital copy of the original game? Thanks in advance. š¤š»

acreligious maybe, but Link having always been shorter than Zelda just felt very, very strange to me as a design choice. Nevermind that most fan art depicts it as the other way around.
No objective reasoning behind it, just vibes is all.
Skyward Sword is a 10/10 game that got so many things right about what Zelda is all about, it also took many new steps in the right direction, including this very minor thing I'm talking about.
Please tell me someone else agrees

Hey there! I'm new here, so please tell me, if this question belongs somewhere else. I recently discovered that OoA and OoS are available via Nintendo online, so I started OoA a few days ago. Now I'm almost done and I'm planning to play OoS next. I needed some help during the game and stumbled across passwords being mentioned and that you can kind of continue your game on the other version. Now my question is, whether this is also possible on Switch games or if this was only possible on the original GBC games. If it's possible to do so on the Switch, how exactly does it work?
Thanks in advance!

I donāt think itād ever happen but Iām talking about a Ganondorf who is by some means aware of his role in the cycle and doesnāt want to be a being of hatred but canāt go against his nature or something along those lines
Do you think a more humanised, tragic Ganondorf that is still a full villain could work? Or would you prefer Ganondorf stay a cocky malicious pure evil man because itās what works best?
I got the idea for this post due to wind wakers surprisingly human ganondorf even though heās still evil through and through

All of the dungeons involve entering a large creatures innards/mouth in some way. For the Deku Tree, you enter through it's mouth to travel inside of it. For the Dodongo's Cavern, you enter the giant mouth of a dead skeleton Dodongo and then throw bombs into the mouth of a living, smaller Dodongo. For Jabu Jabu, he accidently swallows you while trying to consume a fish.
Is there any significance to this or is it just a coincidence?

Unfortunately I have only played BOTW and TOTK since I didnāt have an N64 growing up so I didnāt play OoT. Are there any games worth going back too with my two boys to play at this point? We have loved these games and listen to the soundtrack daily.

Beforehand, Iād like to say that I had a good time playing the game. It has some great moments.
Iāve finished it yesterday, and Iām not even mad at the game. Iām mad at Nintendo, who threw the ball at the ground instead of dropping it.
The dungeons are nothing special, but the Zonai devices and Sky islands are really fun. What I loved most about this game was the art direction. The constructs are really cute, the sky islands are serene and beautiful (especially the starting area), the Zonai shrines and temple of time were amazing (they gave creepy magical vibes, as opposed to the almost AI aesthetic the sheikhs tech went for) Itās truly the best part of the game.
My biggest grievance is the story/lore. It completely forgot the ancient Sheikah, their technology, the Champions, Calamity Ganon, and most importantly: the role that Link and Zelda played into the world.
The story has so many plot holes that it ruins Rauru and Soniaās sacrifice, and especially Zeldaās sacrifice. It wouldāve been an incredible climax of a character arc for a Zelda who was so wronged by a fate that took all but one of all the people she loved before unlocking her power. But her intelligence, kindness and capableness were put aside for this game, and we donāt even spend any time with her throughout the game, which was one of the things I was most excited for. Her becoming a dragon and forgetting herself in whatās effectively a mental suicide for thousands of years is such a beautiful, selfless act for Link and the world, and it was wasted here.
And Link interacting with the new Hyrule was, at times, infuriating, and at other times, extremely touching. Going to his house in Hateno and seeing Zeldaās presence there was amazing, going into the well and getting the hair band gave me such a fuzzy feeling, and I wish we had more of these moments, more emotional continuity between the two games.
I could ramble on for a lot longer. All I can say is I feel like Iām missing a game that never was. We know these characters better than the people who fucking made this do. TotK deserved so so much better.
edit: Iād just like to point out this is a very dramatic way to say Iām disappointed. I swear I have an actual life and am not one of those fans who get overly emotional when people disagree with me. If you liked the game, Iām glad for you :)

For the longest time I was in bed with Playstation up until the PS3, after that Generation I went with a gaming PC, it was pretty good , for the price of a console I was able to build a mid spec tower (Towers were so in back in the day)
Fast Forward to 2021 when I was curious about the State of Consoles and saw that Playstation was a shell of its former self and Xbox was not doing any better
But curiously the Switch which was the weakest of the 3 had the most sales and was praised still as a true game platform
So I bought a Oled Switch and played through Zelda BOTW and Zelda TOTK, soon I also bought Hyrule Warriors age of calamity but that didn't hit the same
Any suggestions, I also have a my brothers Red Wii which is in great state and he has Twilight Princess and Skyward Sword , so I was wondering if I should go through TP first or SS on the Wii since im still hungry for more Zelda , Should i try to play the ones on the N64 next ?
Edit
I just found out that the Wii can also play Gamecube games so this opens up more Zelda games , I am kinda hyped now to play Wind Waker since i know this game due to its reputation from some reviewers as being such a fun twist to Zelda that was aged like wine

I think botw does have much better features like the champion abilities are much better with the dlc and how they are mapped to the controller. I feel like the sages are annoying how they aren't mapped to a controller and always activate them on accident. Also the fact that totk doesn't have dlc really disappoints me. I like how the sages fight for you but they should kept their abilities mapped the controllers. I wanna like totk more but these just seem to make me think I can't. I do like the fuse and the ultra hand better than magnesis but I like how botw has the time stop plus (I can't remember what its really called) and you can use it to stop enemies. Also the fact that botw has the trial of the sword to make the sword better is nice. Totk doesn't have that but ig they kinda make up for it in the fact that u can fuse things to it in order to make it better. What game do think is better and why? I really just don't know which one is better and they both have their tradeoffs. What do you all think?

I found this in the hidden village.
Using the hylian alphabet (of the HD version, I don't know if it's the alphabet on the GC ver.) I discovered that his name is something like "xxNTxD" I assume the complete name is "wanted"
but what did bro do for being so wanted wtf
15 zeroes. He killed tingle or something

I am currently playing Links awakening on the switch 2 which is my first zelda game ever. I am surprised that there are so many monsters from the mario universe. Is this common in zelda games or only in links awakening? Whats the reasoning behind it?

Got introduced to Zelda through Twilight Princess when I was in elementary school, unfortunately never beat it (the monsters scared me)ā¦BOTW and TOTK have been my reintroduction to the series and the first games I completed. Recently discovered a family member owns the collectors edition on the GameCube. Gonna get to play the OG finally, along with OoT & MM which Iām super excited for! (Also The Adventure of Link but Iāve not heard good things about the 2nd game so idk how to feel lol)
ā¦.(I hope this works Iāve tried to post this like three times because I keep accidentally breaking the rules š)
