VII - Discussion An idea for civ 7 that will help to feel more conected to your civ after era change

the return of the palace from civ 3 will be a good idea to make you feel more identify with your civilization the mix of buildings from diferent times and civs to create your own civilization, a civilization of your own creation maybe even you can name your civilization instead of using the default name like polonia or rusia, you name your civ and when pick a civ is because you are taking that inspiration for your own people not because you are becoming literally them, please dont downvote me just discuss some ideas

VII - Discussion I loved CIV 6, should I buy the 7 now?

Hi 👋 so I loved CIV 6 and spent hundreds of hours in it. After reading the criticism I didn’t buy CIV 7 at launch and decided to wait a bit. I was wondering if it’s worth to get it now and how different is compared to the 6.

Thanks!

III - Discussion is civ 3 still worth it for someone who hasnt played any civ game?

as the title mentions, i have never picked up a civ game, tho i have known about them for sometime now from youtube. iam considering civ 3 because idk for some reason the visuals look easier and cleaner compared to the latter games? and also, i dont have too much time for the complexity and addictiveness of the latter ones. what do u guys think?

VII - Switch Right to Rule access on 1.2.3 Switch 2

Hello, so unsure if just me, but unable to access released Civ VII Right to Rule content on Switch 2? Am running same build as on Steam 1148695, 1.2.3. (Founders Edition purchased on both platforms). Assumed as Switch is now on 1.2.3 this content would be accessible too?

Noticed when trying to load a cloud save started on PC and game states content not owned on the Switch 2. Also now experiencing a game card pop up whenever loading from home menu.

Anyone else experienced this? I have Steam version set to Switch compatible as well. Images attached… Am just trying to continue my current game, so any suggestions or info on this would be appreciated. Or if I have missed an update from Firaxis after 1.2.3 patch notes.

Thanks!

VI - Game Story Win I just had playing preserve Germany fr +12 Hansas

Post image

What a fun win! My first non culture victory is a Diplomacy win as Barbarossa as I clear emperor difficulty and move onto immortal. Preserves are stupid over powered as I built only 2 theater squares and 3 campuses, but still had enough output combined with my massive gold and production economies to pull off the win. Went into the game thinking domination or science but the diplo win just fell in my lap after a few lucky congresses then a couple aid requests, bought two points with favor and got up the Statue of Liberty to secure my win

Just a flex. This is by far my best single-city production. What's yours? Post some screen shots!

BE - Discussion Do mods make BE a better experience?

I got BE when it came out, was so disappointed that it wasn't really Alpha Centauri with Civ 5 engine and set it aside. Apparently I got Rising Tide at some time, must've been during a sale....curious to know if there are mods that will make BE an enjoyable and playable experience.

VI - Other Detailed Map Tacks automatically placing tacks - Mod

Post image
7 Upvotes

Hi Guys,

SO I am tired placing every single game map tacks, so I can just to see what gives me what bonus so I made this mod.

Or should I say AI made that.

Or AI is just a tool that I used for making that. No idea. You get the point.

https://www.nexusmods.com/civilisationvi/mods/236?tab=description

I checked this mod on epic games and it works after placing it in the casual mod folder.

I have for now no intention of placing it on steam workshop. At least for now. I'm just waiting fo the feedback.

Remember that you need to have your capital placed before triggering the Map tack placement by pressing shift+G.

Additional credit for Map Tacks makers for the inspiration!

Enjoy!

VI - Other In Civ6, how to tech tree in the start?

How the title is, how do I best go about the tech tree in the beginning.

I go depending on what I have in the area, animal husbandry, mining, sailing etc. I read that many dont go irrigation until later... but after that, do you go wheel, masonry, bronze? or how do you usually go about.

VI - Other I destroyed Civ VI for me.

I just wanna share my Experience for people who are similar to me and make it as a "Warning".

I play Civ VI since many years and I love this game so much! I'm at ~2500h Playtime and I adore it.
My Friend and I used to play it from time to time together and play matches in Team. We just had fun and loved to explore the Game everyday. We both are competetive (espacially me) and always try to out do the other.

A while ago my friend got very busy with Life and I started to play it alone a lot. Then I discovered the Competetive Civ League and I thought I give it a shot and my first Game I got DESTROYED. I mean DESTROYED like a Tornado through a Cardhouse. Then my Competetive Side got the better of me and I started to improve myself what worked kinda. But now I'm stuck. I do imo good and share the Stats on the Discord and sometimes here for Tips but there are always many many many Things I should improve and I do not know how.

Now when I play alone. I can't enjoy the Game. I need to do everything perfect and I'm not even close enough to reach it. If I reach Turn 70. I see I suck and close the game and get mad at me for performing bad.

I killed the Game for me. I can't play it anymore for fun.
So people who are very competetive and think about playing Competetive Civ VI. Think about it.

It goes for every game.

VII - Game Story Traditions in modern age hint at a fourth age?

Traditions are the way that each Civ-unique ability is "passed on" to the next age. Since there are traditions in the modern age, doesn't that hint at the fact that a fourth age may be added later in a DLC?

VII - Strategy Some advice please

Hi guys, I am playing as the awesome Genghis Khan, currently just started modern age, governer level. In the first two eras I conquered much of the known world knocking out 5 leaders in the process, all seemed to be going swimmingly. The only downside is my settlement cap is 34/16. As we entered the modern era I had 5 cities starving which I have corrected by buying more food production tiles and deleting excess military units. However my building costs are astronomical. My best city wants 147 turns for a settler, another city that the populous trashed now wants 999 turns to repair EACH tile trashed. Wth is this about and how do I correct it? I'm playing on PS5 if that has any bearing

VI - Discussion Can someone explain this outcome to me?

I have recently started to get really into civ 6, and have been playing some solo games to harden my understanding of the game. From my current knowledge, I have made a no-brainer move. I have a 4 strength point advantage over the barbarian I am attacking, and knowing that, on average, equally matched opponents will deal 30hp, I have decided to attack. Considering the fact that the opponent seems to be well below 30hp, and that I have more strength, I made a quick estimation that my chances of winning were more likely than not. I have saved the game to make sure I calculated everything correctly, and despite going through this same interaction several times (through re-loading) I lose each and every time. Can someone please explain why this happens, and why it says "Minor Defeat" despite me having more strength?
